Chapter 1078
Chapter 1078
The chief director, Elon Yoder, rushed in and kept quiet as he looked at the crowd. The assistant director and Agnes' expressions changed, and they both looked pale.
"S- Sir, there has been a misunderstanding..." The assistant director did not know exactly how angry Everett was, but knowing his temperament, he knew he would not be able to dodge this bullet. So, he bit the bullet and said, "A- Agnes is the one who suggested changing the script..."
Everyone shifted their gazes to Agnes, including Everett.
His menacing gaze was as cold as ice. He was looking at her as if she was a dead woman.
Agnes was still standing on the stairs. At that moment, everyone's attention was on her, but she felt as tiny as an ant.
When she met Everett's gaze, she felt terrified and her body was drenched in a cold sweat. Her pride and
influence as an actress for many years faded as she became flustered.
"I- I'm sorry. I didn't do it on purpose..." She bit her lower lip as her eyes teared up. "It's just an accident."
"Hmph..."
Everett sneered. What he said next was horrifying.
"Well, I'm sure you enjoy accidents like this."
After he said this, he turned and left.
Everyone at the scene was stunned, and some felt overwhelmed by the tension.
Agnes felt the chill in Everett's words. She was so frightened that she slumped on the floor with a pale face.
'No... This is not happening...
"This society is ruled by the law. What's more, I'm a famous actress...
Agnes comforted herself, but her mind kept flashing back to the way Everett's cold gaze stared at her.
On the other hand, Ninian vaguely felt something was off about Everett.
When he left, it felt as if he was running away.
'What is it that makes an indifferent, aloof young man show his ruthless side? He looks like he's trying to restrain himself and is having a tug-of-war with the beast within him.'
Before she could ponder about it, she found herself chasing after him worriedly. Everett did not return to his lounge area. He left the set and got in a car.
He closed the door of his lowered black Bentley and was about to leave.
"Wait!" Ninian ran to the front of the car and stopped him. Her face was red as she panted heavily. She looked at the back seat nervously. The tinted window was shiny, and she could not see anything on the inside.
Naturally, she did not notice that the imposing young man had curled up into a ball in the back of the remodeled car. He had a grim and painful expression as he put his hands on his chest.
Zayn, who was in the passenger seat, was anxious about Everett. Despite that, he asked him, "Sir, Ms. Winters is standing in front of the car. Should we head back straight away or..." Everett's body stiffened. He raised his head and looked out of the car. His eyes lit up slightly for a moment, holding back the pain.
Fleetingly, that light in his eyes faded and his gaze deepened. He then said in a hoarse voice, "Drive." Zayn nodded, without saying anything else.
The driver started the car and drove off. Everett did not give Ninian any form of response from the start.
"Everett..."
She could not help but run after the car for a while. She had a tight knot in her heart. She could only watch until it was out of sight.
"Everett..."
She murmured as she stood on the bustling street, feeling lost.
Everyone had a strange look on their faces when she returned to the set. They had a hint of curiosity and fear in their expressions.
Catalina, an actress who was quite close with Ninian, came up to her during her breaks and gossiped, "Ninian, have you and The Everett ever met?"
