"YOUR MAJESTY? What's wrong Portia asked as she noticed the Queen's distant expression as rv headed towards Miranda's cell in the dungeon. Helga blinked, attempting to shake off the unsettling thoughts th morning. With a sigh, she turned to the beta female and smiled, wishing she could confide in mind. However, she couldn't do it because it would mean revealing her true identity, and she wont ready for that yet. "Hmm, nothing," she shook her head, "It's just that, thinking of meeting Miranda already gave me a headache."

Why not just sk***ip meeting her? You don't need to talk to her, let David and His Majesty handle the situation with that fake," Portia tried to persuade her, but Helga refused. She knew Portia had a point, but she still wanted to be involved in the case. I was she who uncovered I Miranda's secret and led to her capture, after all. She wanted to see it through until the end. Plus, she needed a distraction, especially since Slegren had arranged an emergency meeting with the high-ranking members of the Royal pack regarding the upcoming Narva delegation visit. As Siegren declared his unwavering devotion and willingness to sacrifice everything for her earlier, she was struck silent. The weight of his words settled in her chest, stirring a mix of emotions-fear, excitement, guilt. She couldn't deny the. fluttering sensation in her heart at the thought of someone being willing to do anything for her. But the reality of potentiall causing a war, with all its consequences and casualties, made her stomach churn. She couldn't bear the thought of being the catalyst for such destruction. Perhaps it would be easier to simply surrender herself to the Lycan King and accept whatever fate awaited her. After all, she didn't want to be selfish and force Siegren into a position that would make his people despise him, especially now that his bad reputation was slowly fading. Once they finally reached the small, dark cell where Miranda was being kept, Helga's eyes widened at the sight she just seen Miranda's once vibrant figure had become gaunt and frail, as if a year's worth of hardship had been packed into just one week Helga could see the toll that captivity had taken on her, both physically and m**y. The subtle tremble in her limb: and the dark circles under her eyes spoke volumes about the suffering she had endured. "Why are you here?" Miranda seethed while glaring at her, although the effect was quite pathetic due to her current state. A usual, she was dressed in black, like any other imprisoners, and the chains around her wrists and ankles were connected to

the walls.

"Why else? To see how pathetic you've become." Helga's voice was cold and unyielding. She didn't wake up today with the intention of being cruel, but Miranda's behavior had brought out her inner b***. It was clear that she felt no remorse or even a hint of apology for her actions. n into one

"So? What does it feel like being locked up?" she asked mockingly, causing Miranda's already intense glare to turn of pure hatred. She scoffed, clearly annoyed by the taunts being hurled her way.

"F***g b***h! I swear will kill you once I manage to get out of here! Sooner or later, Ezra would realize how much he love me and regret rejecting me. He would come to visit me and help me!" Miranda clenched the iron bars with furious strength her anger seeping through her words "Enjoy seeing me suffer because it wouldn't last-

"Pit!" Helga's attempt to stifle her laughter was futile, as it burst forth from her in a sudden outburst. The sound reverberated through the damp dungeon, reaching even Sierra who was imprisoned in a clean and sterile cell on the other side. Miranda's face contorted in a deep frown, her anger growing stronger with each echoing peal of laughter.

"Go ahead, laugh as much as you want. But I guarantee it won't be long until you're on your knees, crying and begging for mercy-

Helga scoffed and cut her off, "Oh, come on! Ezra was here just yesterday, he came to the palace specifically to see me. Did you even know what he did and said to me?" Mirada clenched her fist around the cold iron bar, gritting her teeth and urging to shift into her wolf form. But she couldn't, not with the chains restraining her. And even more frustrating, she still couldn't connect with her inner wolf and communicate with it, despite all her efforts until now. "I don't believe yout If Ezra really came, he definitely would have stopped by to see me-"

She then paused, making sure Miranda was listening before continuing. "And you know what else? He said he wanted me back. He was so desperate that he was willing to challenge the Alpha King to a duel just to have me again." Helga let out a snort as she watched the disbelief flicker across

face. She could see the wheels turning in her mind, desperately trying to cling to any shred of doubt. But deep down, they both knew that Ezra was capable of such deceitful actions. He was a man driven by greed and the desire for power, willing to do whatever it takes to fulfill the prophecy. And now that he had set his sights on Helga as the chosen one, there was no doubt he would stop at nothing to win her back. Miranda braced herself for this inevitable outconic but refused to acknowledge it just yet, instead, she chose to bury her head in denial. in denial. "He's only desperate because he needed you to revive the Incarnadine from its downfall. It doesn't mean anything special. so keep your mouth shut and stop pretending that Ezra wants you back because he loves you!" Miranda's voice dripped with anger as she yelled through the bars. She then shook it in frustration, trying to reach Helga but being held back by the metal restraints.

"Doesn't change the fact that he wants me now, and you've been abandoned." Helga's lips curled into a smirk. "Honestly, I pity you. You were so desperate to be with your destined mate that you resorted to underhanded tactics. And yet, here you are, experiencing the same pain you caused me. So? How does it feel to receive a taste of your own medicine?" Miranda tried to suppress her tears, but she couldn't hold it any longer. Tears streamed down her face as she sobbed uncontrollably, her body shaking with the force of her emotions. With a trembling hand, she

slowly released her grip on the bar and sank to the ground, covering her face to hide from shame. The weight of her choices weighed heavily on her, she knew that this was the inevitable outcome. She had given up everything for the chance to be with her mate, and now had all come crashing down. and

Helga let out a heavy sigh. She didn't mean to add insult to injury, but Miranda's brazen words and actions made her want to slap her with reality. Helga looked at her with pity for a moment before turning to Portia and giving a nod. Together, they made their way across the dungeon to where Sierra was being held, and as soon as their gazes met, Sierra stood up from the bed and approached the bars. "Are you going to make me cry too?" her sister-in-law inquired, but Helga simply laughed and shook her head.

"No, I'm here to ask if you've finally made your decision to rejoin the pack," she replied, thinking that it was time for her to finally hear the answer, and she knew she needed Sierra's help with the upcoming negotiation with the Lycan King. Her decision to stay hidden on that day still stood, which is why she needed a reliable ally to assist the Alpha King along with other high-ranking members of the pack-And Sierra is definitely the person for that job.

"Took you long enough to ask," Sierra's lips curved upwards in a knowing smile as she turned her gaze towards Portia, who was eagerly awaiting her answer. She then shifted her eyes to Helga, whose eyes were widened in anticipation of the next word that was about to leave her mouth. "I've made my decision long ago... I will rejoin the Royal Pack."
