THE GROWLS and shouts of fighting from behind filled the air, drowning out all other sounds. In front of Siegren and Helga stood Sierra, the princess, and mastermind responsible for the killings of the previous Luna candidates and an attack on the current Queen of Verdentia. Despite the perilous situation, Helga couldn't help but be struck by her sister-in-law's beauty. Not only did she exude elegance and alpha blood, but she also bore a strong resemblance to her husband. Her golden eyes were mesmerizing and for a fleeting moment, Helga imagined seeing those same eyes in Siegren once the curse. was lifted from him. "Where have you been hiding all this time?" The Alpha King's voice trembled slightly, as though trying to hide his fury that his little sister had shown up after years of not knowing her whereabouts or having contact with her at all. Helga noticed his tense stance as she moved closer to his side, wanting to shield him too if her sister-in-law tried anything. "Why are you so eager to track me down? Is it because you discovered that I was the one traitors to eliminate the previous Luna candidates?" Sierra scoffed; her tone laced with an ve the order for those anent.

"You know well that I've been searching for you long before that, Siegren gritted his teeth, his emotion all over the place and Helga could also feel it because of the mate bond. Her grip on his shirt tightened a little bit, the tension between the siblings was thick and uncomfortable for Helga to watch. "Why? Because you want me back? You know I despise royals, and the only thing keeping me from killing you is because I still care about you, despite your failure to protect me." The princess' words pierced Siegren like a knife, causing Helga to take a deep breath. She wanted to intervene and defend her husband, but she believed this matter should be resolved between them alone.

admit that I failed to protect but you should know that father pressured me to study and prepare to take over the throne. I had no way of knowing what he was doing." Siegren explained, the frustration in his voice clear, "If I had known he was forcing you into a marriage, do you think I would have allowed it?" "You know damn well how far I would go to keep her safe," he added which made Sierra's finger twitch as her brother's words hit a nerve. She couldn't forget the numerous times he had gotten hurt while protecting her, whether it was from accidents or their father's abusive actions. She understood that Siegren was not to blame, but she couldn't help but harbor some resentment toward him for not being there when she truly needed him the most, she needed his strength and protection more than anything.

"It doesn't matter anymore. The damage has already been done, and there's no way to undo it. I'm here because I want to put an end to the royal bloodline myself." Sierra's response was firm, it was as if no one could ever change her mind. At that moment, Helga understood the full extent of Sierra's hatred towards the Royal family. "And now that you and your mate are here too, it will be even easier for me to accomplish my goal."

Siegren's fist clenched tightly, his knuckles turning white under the pressure as anger surged within him.

"Are you also considering taking your own life?" he asked fiercely.

"That's right, within a matter of minutes, this entire island will be destroyed." Her voice quivered with a mix of fear and determination. It was an impulsive plan, born out of desperation and fueled by anger. It was the first thing that came to her mind when she learned that Siegren would come to this island for his honeymoon. She thought it was a good opportunity to finally put an end to the royal bloodline and curse that had plagued their existence for generations.

To some, her actions may seem extreme, but for Sierra, the suffering and anguish of future royal family members must be prevented at all costs. Their lives and the impending destruction of the island would be a small sacrifice in comparison.

A tension-filled silence hung in the air as Helga finally found the courage to speak up. Her voice was soft, but it cut through the stillness like a sharp blade. Siegren and Sierra, both caught off guard, slowly turned their heads toward her direction.

"Do you wish to end the royal bloodline because you fear your brother will turn into another version of his father?" she asked, her words carefully chosen. The weight of her question settled heavily on them all. "If that's the case, you don't need to worry. Siegren was cold to me once but now, he treats me with kindness and respect. He did not even force me to bear children simply for the sake of continuing his lineage."

"If you kill him now, what do you think would happen to our country? War would surely break out between Verdentia and Narva, and the power-hungry Lycan King would undoubtedly try to claim our nation for himself." Her eyes flashed with determination as she continued, "And what about the innocent children, women, and men who would become slaves under his rule? They would be forced to endure unimaginable horrors just to survive. And as the Queen, I will not stand by and let that happen."

The tall trees rustled in the sudden gusts of wind, their leaves whispering frantically to one another. Above, the sky churned with dark clouds, and a flash of lightning illuminated the chaotic scene below. The crashes of thunder echoed through the air, adding to the already intense soundscape of growls and grunting warriors locked in fierce combat.

"You are a threat to us, so family or not, I will not allow you to harm Verdentia and its ruler," Helga declared in a commanding voice as she stepped forward, and Siegren couldn't help but be surprised by the powerful presence she exuded and was momentarily stunned as he watched his wife. "Instead of using underhanded tricks, why don't you come at me? I will fight you fair and square." SEND GIFT
