DESPITE THE LIVELY MUSIC and dancing guests, the member of the royal pack could not keep their emotions in check, their faces betraying a deep sense of worry. Portia beamed at him, giving him a quick kiss before diving into the feast. Across the room, Helga and Siegren had just finished accepting all of the gifts bestowed upon them. They hadn't uttered a word to each other since the reception began. and it was obvious to everyone present. Despite this being their wedding celebration, they seemed to barely even acknowledge one another's existence, and Ezra couldn't help but notice it.
He was aware that their relationship was doomed to fail, but the thought only brought a small smirk to his lips. Even though Helga had been crowned as Queen Luna and was now considered royalty, she couldn't escape the fact that she was an orphan. However, he couldn't shake off the memories of her, especially when he witnessed her strength as she single-handedly took down numerous wolves and bandits in the Ardan Woods. "It wasn't even that long when you me that you would do your best to never make me live a life as depressing as the previous Queen Lunas, yet here you are treating me like I'm not even your wife," she added, her voice filled with hurt and frustration. "I understand," he calmly stated, causing her to blink in surprise. However, the conversation ended there, and as soon as the music ended, Helga gracefully bowed to him and Siegren gently kissed her hand. The crowd cheered, applauding the performance of the newly married couple without knowing about the danger to the royal bloodline and the assassination.
