Loving the leech (Guardians of Red Moon city #4)

Chapter 9. Make it up to you

William’s POV

I really want to help her, and I don’t want her to hate me as she does. Even though she says she doesn’t, I know better. Deep down, she’s just like her father and despises me a little bit for taking something away from her; her humanity. I know I’ve done it wrong, and I honestly don’t know why I did it from the beginning! It’s just that I... am afraid of the idea that she should also opt-out me like a rejected toy that you send back to the factory. Let’s be honest here; Kaylin’s much better than I’ll ever be. I may be more potent than her, but she still has her dreams, opinions, and morals.

Kaylin still has her humanity, not physically but soulful. After I said sorry to her yet again yesterday on the roof, she smiled weakly at me and walked back inside without a sound. She’s not okay, and it’s my fault. My mother suspects that Kaylin’s depressed and tries to prepare mentally for everything that will happen; while trying to process what has happened. Damn it! I, William Everton, am one of the strongest clan leaders in the country, yet Kaylin Clarkson makes me lose control. A simple human transforming into a vampire at 5’1 and 99 pounds bring me to my knees.

It’s my lack of self-control that makes the problems more significant than they need to be; that’s also why I bit her, which wasn’t okay, by the way. What is done is done, and I can’t do anything about it now, although I would like to.

“Hello!?” a voice exclaims next to me that causes me to jump. “I’ve been trying to talk with you for over five minutes; what’s the matter with you?”

Vivienne stares furiously at me, and I look around in the room I sit. The rest of my friends and family are standing there with confused facial expressions.

“What is it?” I ask.

“Kaylin is gone,” mom replies.

“What do you mean by gone!?” I exclaim in fear.

“I went up to her room because no one has seen her since it got dark, and she’s not in there. We’ve been looking through the whole house, but she’s nowhere, not even on the roof. The window is open, and unfortunately, I think she left the house,” she answers anxiously.

“Then why are you standing here!? Get out and search for her!” I growl, and we all disappear out the door.

We spread out, and I take my two friends into the vast forest while my family takes the community. I don’t know where to start or which path to take, but I follow my instinct. The forest is dark at this time, and even though we have night vision, it’s still much harder to see.

“Where the hell is she?” Oliver asks out into the air to no one in particular.

“I have no idea,” I answer, and in the exact second I do, Oliver flies into the ground with a black figure over him.

Both me and Elijah are about to attack when I hear her musical laughter. She stands up and helps Oliver up. Her face is full of blood, and she wipes her mouth on her shirt sleeve.

“You didn’t prepare for that, did you?” she asks, laughing. “You’re very loud when you run; if you’re going to hunt sometime, be sure to practice not to make noise before.”

My gaze doesn’t leave the blood-covered goddess in front of me. Her whole face keeps a smile that can melt the ice queen herself from Narnia. The only question is where the blood comes from and if she attacked someone? If so, how many?

“Kay, where have you been? We’ve been looking for you, and whose blood have you been drinking!?” Elijah exclaims.

She grins before using her speed to run away, and we follow her closely. Suddenly she stops and points towards a giant elk male lying dead between two trees.

“I was hungry, but I don’t like the taste from the bag. It’s supposed to be hot,” Kaylin says, scrunching up her nose like it’s the most disgusting thing she’s heard. “But I don’t want to hurt my own... The race I was either and given what I caused last time, so this was a better option.”

We look marvelously at her and don’t know what to say about her resourcefulness. I’ve never heard of a vampire opting out of human blood for animal blood; it’s something entirely new for me. Personally, I’ve never tasted either.

“How-how does it taste?” Oliver asks curiously, and Kaylin smiles.

“It’s not that bad, of course, it’s not as good as human blood, but it’s a good option. Besides, I could control it; I’ve been away for two hours and only drunk little by little. But I killed the elk before; I didn’t want to torture it slowly,” Kaylin replies, caressing the moose’s fur with a remorseful look. “Forgive me, Mr. Elk. But I needed to protect my race first.”

I smile at her and see as she prepares to run away, I blink, and in that short time, she’s gone. Elijah and Oliver laugh at my confused expression before we run back. We walk through the door, and my family is waiting in the living room; probably, one of my friends contacted them and told them we found her.

“How’s she doing? She ran upstairs as soon as she entered the door,” Benjamin anxiously says.

“She’s okay; she’s in a good mood,” I answer, shrugging my shoulders.

“Where has she been?” mom asks anxiously.

“In the forest,” I answer.

“What in the world did she do in the forest!?”

“My dear beloved has found a substitute for her bloodsucking that suits her better than the blood bags,” I answer, smiling a little weakly.

“What do you mean?”

“She killed an elk and liked that taste better than the blood bags.”

“Why?”

“Because it has to be hot,” a voice says behind me.

Kaylin stands there and smiles big as if she won a trophy. At this moment, I’m proud of my beloved, that she found a path that suits her better and entirely without help. In all honesty, none of us thought that animals could be the solution to her problem. Is that ignorant?

“Good girl!” mom exclaims and hugs her hard. “You’re so good, honey! No one will have a chance against you inside the arena!”

When the words leave my mother’s mouth, Kaylin’s cheerful expression disappears and becomes dark, with a hint of sadness. We all know Kaylin is scared about how she’ll be in there and how she’ll be when she leaves it. The others have told her about how much she can change inside the arena and that it’s important to remember who she is all the time until she comes out again if she comes out. Mom looks horrified at her and immediately regrets the words she said.

“Kaylin, I’m so sorry, I-.”

“It’s okay, I’ll be fine,” she replies, smiling faintly before walking up the stairs again.

We look after her, and only when the door closes does mom react. She sits down on the couch and sighs. If you don’t understand it yet, my mother is such a person who has mother-hen tendencies when it comes to everyone in our and her vicinity.

“I didn’t mean to remind her,” mom whispers.

“It’s okay, mom,” I answer, patting her back. “She knows you didn’t mean anything bad. I’ll go upstairs and talk to her.”

I slowly walk up the stairs and listen to sounds. The water runs in the shower, and since I’m not a pervert, I’m not going to wait for her inside her room either when she’s not prepared. I sit down on the floor outside her door and hear her low voice from the bathroom. Kaylin sings, “It is what it is, “and her voice is shaky. She’s crying, I feel it within me, and now I don’t care if I look like a pervert; I have to be with her! I hurry into the bathroom, and Kaylin sits on the floor in the oversized shower, still fully clothed. She keeps singing, and even though her eyes are closed, I can see the tears gushing out.

Without hesitation, I step into the shower, sit down beside her on the floor and lift her to my lap. Her singing is interrupted by loud cries bouncing between the tile walls, and all I can do is keep my beloved close to my chest in the hope that I’ll be able to remove her pain. Kaylin has had to put up with so much already, losing her family, become a vampire, hate her beloved, fight in an arena to death... It was only a matter of time until it became too much, and now the moment has come.

“I’m so scared, Will,” she whispers and shakes.

Despite the situation, I smile a little to myself; this is the first time she calls me Will without hatred or the like in her voice. This time it’s full of love and sorrow for what’s to come.

“It’s okay, love,” I whisper back. “Everything will be fine.”

She looks at me with big blue eyes holding such unspoken love and respect for me. I look back at her and appreciate every little detail of her face, my beautiful. Her gaze moves down to my mouth and then up to my eyes again, to then do it again. Slowly, our faces move closer to each other, and when our lips make contact, it feels like my heart is about to explode with the heat she radiates. Her tongue finds its way between my lips, and I open to massage hers with my own. None of us let go when I get up with her still in my arms. I don’t have to say anything; her legs wrap around my waist anyway.

Our clothes suddenly disappear to move to a pile on the floor, and I realize that she has apportion as one of her powers, which is when you can teleport objects, create objects, or make an item disappear. Her wetness spreads in the room and drops down her legs to land on my feet. I gently lay her down on the bed without breaking the dance our lips have with each other. She spreads her legs and puts them on each side of my body. I leave little kisses along her neck down towards her chest, and she gasps at my soft touch. Her hands massage my scalp as she grabs my head.

Kaylin reacts quickly when I gently shove a finger inside her.

Is she a virgin? I work my way into between her warm walls with another finger and try to stretch her as best I can; whether she’s a virgin or not, I don’t want to hurt her more than I already did. She pulls a little in my hair, and I look up at her inquiring.

“I’m not a virgin, and I’m protected,” she says in a husky voice.

I nod in response and increase my fingers’ pace while she bends her back from the sensation. Her moans become louder the more I move my fingers between her warming inside. My tongue towards her nub is the last thing needed for her to break into pieces in my arms. I kiss my way up back to her mouth, and by putting her legs behind me, she pushes me into her warm wetness. Given that my cock is doing a standing ovation and she’s wetter than a sea, I easily slip inside her. We both moan from the feeling, and I try to take it carefully, but she doesn’t make it easy when she tries to speed up my pace.

“Kaylin, you’re going to make me cum quickly if you keep going like that,” I say through clenched teeth, and she grins before using her speed to turn us around.

I now lie under her while she frantically bounces on my hard cock, chasing after her orgasm.

“Are you cumming for me, baby?” she purrs and bites her lip; she’s never been sexier than in this moment.

Without waiting for my answer, she fucks me faster and harder while I put my hands on her hips to have something to hold onto when I meet her thrusts. She squirts over and over while I try to hold out as long as I can, with an unwillingness to ruin this fantastic moment. What I’m not preparing for is when she’s so inside the hot moment that her fangs come out, and she bites me, then I cum and squirt my seed between her inner walls until she’s full. She throws herself down next to me and breathes as heavily as I do. I pull her to me, and she puts her head on my chest.

It only takes a few minutes before her breathing becomes steady, and she falls asleep. To be honest, I don’t think she thought about that she bit me; no matter what, I’m hers, now and forever. She has marked me as hers, and she bit me over my old mark that faded as it always does after a broken bond between two parties. I’m not mad at her or anything, rather glad she finally accepts me, or well, her subconscious at least does. Otherwise, she wouldn’t have bitten me. My eyelids droop, and I fall asleep quickly next to my beloved.

Kaylin’s POV

I wake up and feel confused about what’s going on. My room is dark, and I’m lying on top of someone. What the hell is going on!? I quickly sit up in bed and notice that William’s next to me. Damn, it wasn’t a dream! And I’ve bitten him! He’s marked as mine! Why did I do that!? I get dressed as quietly as I can and leave the room quickly. The sun shines outside, but sunlight doesn’t reach me while I can see it unproblematic thanks to the tinted windows. Not that it would be a problem anyway since I’ve got the sunlight amulet Ozzandra gave me.

I hurry down the stairs and pace in the kitchen. Fuck, fuck, fuck! I bite my nails, which is a bad habit I’ve had since I was a kid; that’s what I do when I’m nervous.

“Kaylin, what is it?” a yawning Vivienne asks when she enters the room.

“I’ve done something so damn stupid,” I whisper, the panic flowing and keep pacing.

“What the hell happened to you?” she asks again, but I don’t answer the question.

I don’t think you realize what an embarrassing situation I’ve put myself in now. Ever since I got here, I’ve hated William and told him that repeatedly. A brief moment of vulnerability, and I have him inside me! Damn, I don’t have better self-control than this? I don’t even know Vivienne has summoned the others until a troubled Elijah stops me.

“Kaylin, what happened?” he asks anxiously.

“Nothing,” I answer and continue grumbling to myself without stopping.

I’m going to get a fucking stroke if I keep going like this, but I don’t want that conversation with them either. Think for yourself how embarrassing it’ll be when I’m going to talk to William about it. Vivienne suddenly gives me a knowing smile and raises her eyebrows in an interrogative gesture.

“No! You’re going to stay quiet,” I say, pointing at her, resulting in her starting to laugh.

“What? What is it?” Oliver asks. “I can’t get into her thoughts.”

“We just have to wait for William to come down,” she replies, giggling while I get beetroot red in the face.

“Why are you waiting for me?” William asks when he comes in, and everyone looks at him with big eyes before turning to me.

I groan and put my head in my hands. Vivienne laughs, so she falls off the kitchen counter, and I just want to sink through the floor.

“So that’s why you’re embarrassed,” Elijah chuckles. “Because you marked what’s yours?”

I sneer at him before snapping my fingers, disappearing without a trace, and then return to my bedroom. It’s a new ability I learned the other day, isn’t it fabulous!? Unfortunately, my loneliness doesn’t last long because William stands at the door just a few seconds after getting up in my room.

“You bit me,” he says in a severe tone, looking strangely at me.

“I know... What does this mean for us as individuals?” I ask, afraid of the answer.

“There’s no longer anything individual for us,” he replies.

“What do you mean?” I ask with panic-stricken eyes.

“You bit me, and now we’re interconnected for all eternity.”

A/N:
