Lovin You Is Not A Secret

Chapter 97 Steal Her Things

All the guests were surprised to find that Eva was here after they entered the house.

They had already known what happened at the banquet a while ago. Even those who were not present at the time heard about the farce. Eva was now different now. She had the Livingstone family behind her. So everyone wanted to butter her up.

So this was why Morgan asked Eva to come back.

These ladies were usually idle and had nothing to do. They just followed their husbands to some banquets and so on. They knew all kinds of gossip. Besides, they were all sophisticated. They knew what to do even without the hints from their husbands.

Eva had the most rich and powerful family in Hartvenport as her backer. Those ladies knew what they could earn if they had even a little connection with the Livingstone family, so they came over to greet Eva. "Eva, you are getting more and more beautiful now."

"Look at your face, it's flawless! What brand of skin care products do you use?"

"Eva, do you still remember me? We met when you just returned here. Do you still remember it?"

"By the way, I have seen your TV series before. Your acting skills are really amazing..."

"I've only acted as a mistress. You like those roles?" Eva said with a smile, which made the woman feel ashamed.

Eva looked at the people around her, feeling a little speechless. She could only keep smiling, nodding, and answering perfunctorily.

Seeing that the ladies who were supposed to be around her were surrounding Eva now and all tried to please Eva and completely ignored her, Sheila felt resentful.

She looked at Eva with gloomy eyes and clenched her fists tightly. Her fingernails stuck into her palms. The pain spread to her chest along the palms. But this kind of pain was completely unable to compare her hatred to Eva at this time.

'Eva! Why are you again! Why did you take everything that belonged to me as soon as you came back!'

Sheila completely forgot her current status, as the daughter of the Sommers', should have belonged to Eva. She forgot that she was the one who stole others' things.

People who came to visit the Sommers saw Eva here, so they thought that Eva had reconciled with her parents. Before, they were afraid of the Livingstone family, so their attitude towards the Sommers was not good. Now, they changed. As the news spread out, this year, more and more people came to Angelica Park to pay New Year's greetings. Usually, Morgan had to go out to visit them. But this year, it was completely different.

Morgan treated Eva better and better. It seemed that he treated Eva better than Sheila. Morgan was such a person. Whoever could bring him more benefits could get his care.

Looking at the person in front of him who was obviously more respectful to him and deliberately ingratiating with him than before, he looked smug. This was what he wanted.

The next day, before Eva went downstairs, she heard Brody's voice from downstairs.

When Eva just returned a few days ago, Sheila kept complaining about Eva in front of Brody. But she didn't expect that Brody not only did not comfort her, but also came here more frequently. He didn't talk with Sheila after coming here.

Even so, Sheila still pretended to be very happy, and did a PDA in front of Eva all day long, trying to stimulate Eva.

But now Eva didn't care about Brody. So these actions were ridiculous in Eva's eyes.

On the sofa, Sheila snuggled in Brody's arms, and said something to him delicately.

Brody looked at Sheila in his arms dotingly. When he inadvertently saw Eva who went downstairs, the smile on his face solidified a little bit. He stared at Eva for a moment.

"Brody, there is a newly opened Japanese restaurant. I heard people say that it tastes very good. How about we eat out when you have time?" Sheila asked Brody next to her in a coquettish voice. "Well..." Brody replied perfunctorily, still staring at Eva.

"I remember that you like Japanese food the most..." Sheila had been immersed in her own thoughts, chattering endlessly. She was completely unaware that Brody's mind and eyes had long drifted away. After speaking for a long time, Sheila didn't get a response from Brody. Then she looked up and followed Brody's gaze. She saw Eva was standing at the window and watering the flowers and plants. Sheila pulled Brody's sleeve angrily. Only then did Brody come back to his senses and coughed unnaturally.

Sheila deliberately hugged Brody tighter, and looked at Eva proudly.

Looking at Eva, Brody wanted to say hello but stopped again. Seeing that Eva didn't want to talk to him, he forcibly held back.

Sheila's cell phone rang at the right time. The company needed a document. They asked her to take a picture and then sent to them.

Sheila got up reluctantly and left. For a while, only Eva and Brody were left in the living room. Eva put down the watering can and was about to go upstairs. But Brody grabbed her arm. "Eva, let's have a good talk." Brody finally couldn't help but stepped forward.

Eva glanced at the arm that was being pulled by Brody, and then she smiled, "Mr. Gallagher, we have nothing to talk about." After speaking, she struggled, trying to break free from Brody. But Brody held her arm tightly and was unwilling to let go.

"Just a few minutes. We haven't chatted since you came back." Brody couldn't help but forced a smile.

The two were at a stalemate for a while.

Eva also felt that she had to make clear something with Brody, so she followed Brody to the garden behind the villa.

"Eva, I know that you hated me for what happened five years ago. I shouldn't have chosen to accompany Sheila that day, but I can't help it. You know..."

"I don't know and I don't want to know." Eva interrupted Brody without waiting for him to finish.

"Sheila was also impulsive. Besides, she already apologized to you. She just stole me from you but she didn't force you to do that stuff with that guy, did she?" Brody was still explaining. "I can't accept her apology." When Eva saw that Brody was still defending Sheila, she sneered.

"Besides, these things have already passed. Can't we forget it? Can't we get along well as before?" Seeing the disgust and hatred in Eva's eyes, Brody couldn't help but felt a little anxious. "Get along well as before?" Eva asked back with a cold smile on her face.

Brody didn't notice the sarcasm in her words at all, so he nodded.
