Chapter 3 Carry Me Down

Anna was also puzzled as she stared at the little boy. Just by looking at his attire, she knew he was not an unordinary person. However, his gaze toward her was indescribable. It was as if he was appraising a rare item.

Anna found herself both amused and bemused by her own thoughts.

Mia, lacking patience, glared at the little boy standing on the ground and angrily asked, “Who are you? Don’t you know it’s working hours now? You can’t just barge into the company like this!”

“You’re so annoying,” said the little boy as he casually glanced at her, cool and aloof. He then extended a finger, pointed at Mia, and commanded, “You! Go clean up the mess on the floor right now, and remember to use your hands to wipe it clean!”

Mia thought she was hearing things and couldn’t help but laugh, trying to hold back her anger. “What did you say?”

“How dare he tell me to clean the floor?” Mia thought.

“Oh, you don’t understand?” The little boy instantly showed disdain on his face. “Not only are you ugly, but your intelligence is also lacking. It seems that this company is nothing special. I really need to reconsider whether or not to let you be in charge of my birthday banquet!”

Mia never expected this little brat to be so sharp-tongued. She felt her whole body trembling with anger. “Where did this uncultured child come from? Didn’t your parents teach you to respect adults? You have no manners! Today, let me teach you a lesson!”

As soon as the words fell, she raised her hand, ready to slap the little boy.

Anna was startled and instinctively rushed forward, embracing the little boy in her arms. How could she allow such a young child to be hit?

The others were also taken aback, thinking to themselves, “How could Mia be so cruel? How could she hit such an adorable little boy?”

The bodyguards were equally shocked and immediately enraged, bellowing, “Stop! Do you think you can lay a hand on Mr. Justin? Seize her!”

In less than two seconds, Mia was restrained by two bodyguards, one on each side.

Everyone was dumbfounded.

Mia was also taken aback. She had never been treated like this before, let alone in front of her subordinates. Instantly furious, she struggled and exclaimed, “What are you doing? Let go of me!”

However, the bodyguards held her tightly, not moving an inch.

John Miller, the general manager of Wilby Company, arrived upon hearing the news and urgently said, “Gentlemen, please calm down. My subordinate lacked judgment and offended Mr. Justin. I sincerely apologize on her behalf. I hope you can be magnanimous and let her go.”

Just now, John was in his office on the top floor when he heard that the young master of the Parker Group was here. He originally wanted to give the young master a warm welcome, but who would have thought that this young master would actually come to the planning department?

As soon as John heard the news, he rushed over and came across the scene before him, which frightened him to the core. As was known to all, in order to cooperate with the Parker Group, Wilby Company had put in a lot of effort. If this incident caused the collaboration to fall through, he would choose to bang his head against the wall to kill himself.

The bodyguards sneered disdainfully. “Your employee has such audacity. How dare she insult Mr. Justin of the Parker Group, calling him an uncultured child?”

Everyone was shocked upon hearing this! This adorable little boy turned out to be the young master of the Parker family! No wonder he had such a domineering aura at such a young age!

Mia was dumbfounded. Her face, which was previously filled with anger, suddenly turned pale. If she offended the young master of the Parker family, there would be very severe consequences waiting for her. If she ruined the collaboration between the Parker Group and Wilby Company, she might not even be able to keep her job.

John’s face turned pale, and he nervously said, “I’m really sorry. I will make her apologize to Mr. Justin.” He then glared at Mia and bellowed, “Ms. Anderson! What are you standing there for? Apologize to Mr. Justin immediately!”

Mia felt extremely embarrassed, but at this moment, she couldn’t care about saving face anymore. She quickly apologized, “I’m sorry, Mr. Justin. I was stupid and offended you. I hope you can forgive me.”

The little boy, however, seemed to ignore her completely and nestled in Anna’s arms. His fair cheeks looked extremely soft, his obsidian-like eyes sparkled, his petite nose was straight and high, and his rosy lips were slightly pursed. His little hands affectionately wrapped around Anna’s neck, seemingly unwilling to let go.

Anna had always loved children and couldn’t help but want to hold them when she saw them. Now that she was holding him, she didn’t want to let go, especially since this little boy was so cute and well-behaved, and there was… a sense of intimacy that she had never experienced before, which made her more unwilling to let go of him.

Mia became more anxious when the little boy remained unresponsive. Unable to hold back her curiosity, she asked, “Mr. Justin?”

The little boy finally reacted a little, giving Mia a cold glance. “The person who should apologize to is not me, but this beautiful lady.”

Mia’s face was filled with shame and fury.

“Are you asking me to apologize to Anna Jenkins?” she asked inwardly. “In your dreams!”

“What? You don’t want to apologize? It’s fine. But as for the project that we agreed to cooperate on earlier, I will make my dad reconsider,” said the little boy as he calmly commanded the bodyguards beside him. “Let’s go, guys.”

The bodyguards followed his orders and began to leave. They immediately let go of Mia and prepared to escort the little boy out.

John panicked and quickly stopped them. “Mr. Justin, please wait a moment. Mia is willing to apologize.” He then glared at Mia and said, “Ms. Anderson, the collaboration with the Parker Group was fought for by everyone in the company. If you want to ruin it, then please leave immediately. Our company doesn’t need you!”

Mia’s face turned pale upon hearing this. It seemed that the little boy was determined to get justice for Anna. If Mia didn’t apologize, she would face very severe consequences. She reluctantly said, “Okay, I apologize. I’m sorry, Anna.”

“Not sincere enough,” the little boy said, looking disgusted.

Mia took a deep breath and swallowed her pride. She bowed to Anna and said, “I’m sorry for what I did earlier. Please forgive me, Anna.”

Anna felt a sense of satisfaction and a hint of mockery as she saw Mia’s submissive behavior.

Mia had always looked down on people and abused her power, but now she was forced to bow down to someone else.

John saw that Mia had finally given in. He tried to take this chance to smooth things over. “Mr. Justin, she has apologized. What do you think about the collaboration between our two companies?”

“The floor hasn’t been cleaned yet,” the little boy persisted.

Mia bit her lip in shame and said, “I’ll go clean it right away.”

She went to get cleaning supplies and wiped the coffee stains off the floor in front of everyone. No one felt any sympathy for her. They had all witnessed how Mia had treated Anna before, and this was just karma.

After Mia finished cleaning, the little boy finally seemed satisfied. “I won’t hold today’s incident against you. But I have one more request. She’s not allowed to participate in my birthday banquet.”

John quickly agreed, “No problem! No problem!”

“Okay, then I’m leaving,” the little boy turned to Anna and said.

Hearing this, Anna let go of the little boy, ready to put him down.

But unexpectedly, the little boy clung to Anna tightly, unwilling to let go. He said in a cute voice, “Carry me down.”
