Love Blooms In Prenups By Lydia Onions

Chapter 10

Chapter 10

Meanwhile, Stanley appeared oblivious to the happenings and leaned sideways on the co–pilot seat, toying with a silver handgun.

Anyone in the industry would know that it was a modified handgun. However, it was different from the regular model and was priceless.

The gun’s bidding price was record–breaking during the auction, and a mysterious buyer eventually bought it.

From the day when she knew she was pregnant, Melody had been feeling tired and did not know if it was a psychological or biological effect. She fell asleep in no time.

After seeing that her breathing had stabilized, Maverick stood up, took a throw from a storage cabinet, and lightly covered the woman with it.

Melody’s eyelashes moved slightly, but she remained asleep while tucking herself comfortably under the blanket, seemingly sensing the warmth.

Maverick stood in his spot and stared at her momentarily. After ensuring everything was fine, he returned to his seat.

Upon seeing that everything had settled down, Stanley wanted to approach Maverick to report some matters. However, he stopped in his tracks after Maverick stopped him by glaring at him.

Stanley was shocked and wondered, “Did he just stop me from talking for fear of disturbing her? Is this the same ruthless and decisive man that I knew?”

He recounted how Maverick used to be annoyed by all the women who approached him and guessed that Maverick had finally met his destined match.

Half an hour later, the private jet landed gradually. Maverick carried the woman beside him, who was still deeply asleep, and they disembarked from the plane.

“Get Harrison over,” Maverick said softly to Stanley, who was following behind, and he entered the mansion with Melody in

his arms.

Upon seeing that Maverick had someone in his arms, Felix immediately went forward and asked anxiously, “What happened, Mr. Mills?”

Maverick remained emotionless and said calmly, “Harrison will be here in a while. Bring him to the master bedroom.”

He then left for his bedroom with Melody after giving his instructions.

About 15 minutes later, Harrison strolled into the house.

Felix immediately went forward to welcome him and said with urgency, “Mr. Cole, Mr. Mills instructed me to bring you to the master bedroom when you arrived. Please follow me.”

Felix led the way and brought him upstairs.

“Gosh, what’s the rush, Felix? I just came. Can’t I get a cup of water?” Although Harrison was grumbling, he followed Felix closely.

The pair reached the third floor shortly.

The bedroom door was ajar when Felix knocked politely on the door.

“Mr. Mills, Mr. Cole is here.” Before waiting for any replies from the room, Harrison opened the door and entered.

“Rick, I just returned from Yartran with you. Can’t you give me a break?” come over urgently and did not give any other explanation.

“hen Stanley called Harrison, Stanley told him to

Hence, he thought Maverick had gotten into some trouble.

However, he saw Maverick standing tall comfortably, and he did not seem to have injuries anywhere.

Harrison thought they would only be in Yartran for a week until Geoffrey was awake and did not expect the surprises along the way. In the end, it took them three months to return.

Maverick merely glanced at him and remained silent. The simple gesture exhibited an impregnable sense of authority.

After seeing that Harrison was about to continue speaking, Maverick interrupted in a low volume, “Speak softly. Stop yapping. Give her a checkup.”

Before hearing his words, Harrison did not realize that a person was lying in bed.

To be accurate, it was a woman.

Harrison’s jaw dropped, and he could not believe that Maverick would bring a woman home. Furthermore, she was lying on Maverick’s bed.

The sight was utterly shocking. Maverick had to kick Harrison before the latter could regain his senses.

After seeing Maverick’s grim face, Harrison did not dare to joke anymore and asked on a serious note, “What happened?”

Maverick replied coldly, “Pregnant. The one when I was drugged.”

Harrison’s face turned pale in shock, and he immediately went forward to check on Melody with his equipment.

Five minutes later, he heaved a sigh of relief.

He walked to the windows and said to Maverick, “Rick, she’s fine. I just gave her a dosage of my latest invention of medication. The chemical that got to her previously won’t harm the baby in her.”

Upon hearing his words, Maverick relaxed his brows and lightly tapped his cigarette to get rid of the accumulated ashes.

“Any precautions we need to take?” he asked.

Harrison saw Maverick asking sternly and did not dare to slack either.

He listed the precautions that he should take note of “She’s rather weak and needs to get some good rest. The adult and baby are slightly malnourished and need to eat better. The rest of the things can be prepared according to regular pregnancy needs.”

“Malnourished?” Maverick frowned again upon hearing the man’s words.

“How can anyone be malnourished and not have sufficient food in this era?” he wondered

Upon seeing that Maverick remained silent, Harrison’s face darkened. “Rick, since this is the woman that night, I heard she barged into your room. Do you think…

Before Harrison could finish his question, Maverick knew what he wanted to know.

Maverick lowered his tone and remained emotionless. “We’ll see if she’s capable of it.”

When he was still in Yartran, Harrison heard from Stanley that Maverick was looking for a woman using Spectrum.

He guessed it must be the lady on the bed.

She was indeed good–looking. Although her face was pale, it did not affect her breathtakingly gorgeous appearance.

“No wonder she could make Maverick bring her home. He hasn’t shown interest in women for the past 28 years. He can count himself lucky for impregnating her through that one time. Moreover, it’s a pair of twins.” Harrison mused.

“I don’t know how he did it. After being drugged heavily, he got a beautiful woman and two children. Is this a blessing in disguise?” he continued to wonder.

Harrison could not hold back his curiosity and asked, “Rick, what are your plans?”

Maverick glanced at him while his expression remained indifferent. “Do you have too much time on your hands?”

Harrison felt uncomfortable with his stare and instantly gulped.

His eyes strayed around and said stubbornly, “I’m just curious! The great Maverick Mills, feared by both the police and gangsters and had never been interested in any women for the past 28 years, suddenly became interested in a woman with unknown background!”

Maverick’s face darkened, and Harrison, feeling the air turn cold, trembled instantly.

Maverick’s sexy lips moved slowly while his deep voice remained impassive. “Raymond told me a few times that the medical conditions at Zacwora are bad and that someone is needed to go over to help. I think you might be suitable for the position.”

“No, no, no. I’m busy. The list of patients on my waiting list is enough to keep me busy until next year. I’ll go fulfill the appointments and earn my keep now.” After ending his words, Harrison left before Maverick could respond further. Maverick extinguished the almost–finished cigarette by pressing it into the soil of a potted plant after Harrison left. He looked at the charming scenery outside the window to disperse the hostile aura around him before he turned and strolled to the side of the bed.

The woman on the bed was still deeply asleep.

Melody was 22 years old and a graduate of Baykeep University’s jewelry design faculty. She was the illegitimate child of a wealthy man in Baykeep, Joseph Tuffin. She was set up by her father three months ago and accidentally barged into his

TOOM.

That was the information that Stanley found and told him.
