Love Began with the First Meeting

However, being around these people made Elsa feel bad about herself. Comparing herself to the others, she felt like a mediocre person.

"Elsa, what are you thinking about?" asked Evelyn, as though she had sensed Elsa's troubles. "I think you are awesome. Charlie loves me because I'm his sister. But you, you are his first love and no one could be compared to you. My brother has never been in love with another person before. That makes you very special. Only you can make his heart skip a beat like how it is doing right now. You should be more confident, honey," she added, giving Elsa a roguish wink.

Elsa shrugged her shoulders, not knowing how to respond to Evelyn's words.

Perhaps she wanted to say that she knew very little about romance, let alone had power over Charlie's heart. Somehow, she had become Charlie's girlfriend even though Charlie had never told her how he felt about her.

The villa was fuller than before. The chefs of the villa cooked many delicious dishes for the guests. Since Evelyn's taste in food ranged from different cuisines, her parents had hired a cordon bleu chef for her. Although Evelyn lived in campus, she could eat whatever her heart desired when she went back home.

The voices of hearty laughter and joyful conversations echoed through the halls of the villa. When Bess joined them an hour later, she was greeted with rapturous applause and a glass of wine. After some time, the players divided into two groups: male and female. Elsa assumed that the girls would most likely be talking about fashion, designer clothes or bags, but to her surprise, the most common topic of conversation between them were the latest gossips about which player was in love or which player had the most secret admirers. Eventually, Elsa became the subject of the gossip. As soon as she realized it, she tried to change the subject.

"Well, it's not always rainbows and butterflies between Charlie and I. We've had our share of difficult times," Elsa explained. She then turned to Evelyn and asked, "Evelyn, what happened between you and Ezra? It seemed like he had done something to make you feel uncomfortable."

Bess looked at Evelyn as she heard Elsa's words and snickered, "You've hit the spot, Elsa. You're right. Indeed, a very unpleasant thing has happened between them. One day, Evelyn sat there and ate nothing. She spent a lot of time thinking why he..." "Bess, shut up!" Evelyn interrupted her.

"Okay, okay. You're the boss," Bess replied. She had to cover her mouth to stop herself from laughing. But other girls listened with deep interest.

Charlie's gaze was tender when it landed on Elsa. His eyes came back to Ezra when he heard his words. "So things got rough down there, hmm?" he asked.

Ezra knew that Charlie was asking him about the incident that had happened at the Dragon Empire Group yesterday. He shrugged his shoulders and said, "I have dealt with a lot of stuff like that before. I once thought it would never happen in the Dragon Empire Group, but I was wrong."

"Well, we live in a big world. There's just so much we don't know yet. Fortunately, we didn't lose anything. The criminal had a clear mind, but he chose a wrong path," Charlie comforted him.

Ezra smiled and replied, "Addison said that we should cut him some slack."

Charlie stopped peeling the apple in his hands and frowned at Ezra's words. "If we allow him get away with this, the others will try to take advantage of us because they will think that their actions will go unpunished," he said and continued to peel the apple.

"But we have to admit that Addison is a charismatic man, and I think that his words sound reasonable," Ezra replied. He had different ideas with Charlie. Although Addison often showed the kindness of his heart, he had a good head for judgment and never abused his compassion. He only forgave those who were truly repentant.

Charlie peeled the apple and placed the skins in a row on the table. After a few peels, he had managed to make an impromptu artwork with apple skins. However, the people who knew Charlie from before, didn't like the idea of him peeling apples as it was a sign of imminent danger. Every time he peeled apples, they used to get gut feelings that he was going to do something bad.

When Ezra saw Charlie picking up another apple, he couldn't help but show concern. "What's wrong? Why are you peeling apples in front of me? You know it makes me uncomfortable," he said.

"Oh, sorry, I didn't mean to do that. It's just that Elsa likes eating apples, but she doesn't like apple skins. She often eats two at a time, so I peeled two apples," Charlie replied, smiling innocently.

Ezra rolled his eyes at Charlie when he heard his words. "I have to say that you two make a really wonderful couple! One of you likes peeling apples rather than eating them. The other one likes eating but doesn't like the skins," said Ezra, clapping his hands jokingly. "You know, I'm very worried about Little Bun. "Uh, if you worried about Elsa, maybe you should take her place and test Charlie for her," Shaun Lu teased him.

"No, no, no. I appreciate your kind offer but I cannot accept it. I trust Little Bun. I'm sure that she is perfectly capable of handling Charlie," Evan Meng immediately shook his head and made a hasty answer.

Evan Meng knew that Shaun Lu bore him no ill will, because all of them were from the "Madness Is Good". They shared similar interests and a mutual respect for each other. They would not hurt each other because of a mere conflict of interest.

Shaun Lu shrugged his shoulders as he heard Evan Meng's words. He then turned to Charlie and asked, "I've heard that you're planning to separate Dragon from The Flight Media?"

"Yes, that's true. Although the scale of the Dragon is continuing to grow, I still want it to grow a bit more. I'm designing another game right now and I think this is the right time to incorporate Dragon into the Dragon Empire Group," Charlie replied as he put the apples in a plate. DD
