Chapter 92
Chapter 92
Dante looked at the plate
half–filled with pastries. He’d never wanted to at was cl eat them before, but now, he picked one up and took a bite. It was rather sweet and did taste quite nice.
Still holding the pastry, he got his phone out and made a call. “Buy me some books. Hm? What kind? I don’t know. Just get me a few of every kind.”
Melina left the house with a thousand dollars in hand. It was a lot of money to her, but it wasn’t enough. She still needed 120 thousand to rebuild the elementary school.
After leaving, she didn’t head back to the Wentworth residence. Instead, she tried to see if she could find a job to do at night, to no avail. Summer jobs weren’t the easiest to find as most places didn’t need short–term workers. Plus, she only had her nights free.
Melina ended up hesitating in front of a bar. She heard that the servers at bars were paid handsomely, but thanks to her relatively sheltered upbringing, she didn’t feel like the job would be right for her. Would Joe be upset with her if he knew she worked at
a bar?
Thus, after much contemplation, she decided against it. She headed back to the Wentworth residence with a head full of thoughts. But when she got back, she realized everyone was there, including Linda.
Why was Linda everywhere?
Nothing good ever happened whenever she ran into Linda. She was genuinely. unfond of Linda, and it had nothing to do with Andrew. She simply disliked Linda.
Linda, who was holding Celine’s arm, said sweetly, “Aunt Celine, I came over today to let Andrew know that we want to have a gathering at his place in Oakread.”
Celine was still busy admiring the bracelet Linda had just given her. Feeling satisfied, she said, “You can decide such things on your own. Considering your relationship with Andrew, I doubt he’ll say no to you.
Linda smiled bashfully. “It’s still better if I talk to him about it first.”
Just then, Celine spotted Melina standing at the doorway. Her gaze flickered as she suggested, “Andrew is upstairs right now. Why don’t you head up to look for him? You guys can discuss it in private.”

“Celine!” Wallace shot her a warning gaze, and she stopped talking.
Taking a deep breath, Melina walked into the living room. Still clutching Celine’s arm, Linda stared at her as if to taunt her.
The Wentworths could tell that Linda had no idea Andrew and Melina had gotten. married. Since Andrew didn’t tell her, they dared not be the ones who did. No one. wanted to see Andrew blow his top. And of course, they were more than happy to sit back and enjoy the show, mainly because they were displeased with Melina’s sudden arrival.
It went without saying that there were plenty of ways they could’ve used Andrew’s marriage for their own interests. They’d secretly discussed it among themselves to determine who Andrew should marry for them to maximize their benefits.
The best–case scenario for them was if he either stayed single or married someone they’d selected.
Yet, without even the slightest hint of a warning, Wallace had brought a woman back for Andrew to marry. They dared not show their dissatisfaction to Wallace or Andrew, so they took it out on Melina instead. After all, it wasn’t as if a random person off the street could establish herself in the family.
Now that Linda was here, they were all keen to see what would happen next. Only Wallace looked at Melina sympathetically. In a bid to protect her, he called out,” You’re back, Lina. Come and sit next to me.”
