Chapter 5
Chapter 5
I don’t know how I felt when I inserted the USB drive into the computer and turned it on
My heart was pounding like thunder, and my palms were covered in sweat.
If Lola was pretending to have amnesia, then all her actions were to help me get this USB drive.
The USB flash drive contained densely packed files.
They were divided into two categories: one named Katherine Moore and the other named Lola Garcia.
They were classified and summarized according to time.
When I opened the folder named after me, I felt dizzy.
They were all my private photos and videos of us as a couple, except that Eason’s face was not shown in the videos. These photos and videos were all taken at home, and a chill ran down my spine.
Maybe, somewhere I couldn’t see, there was a surveillance camera secretly filming me.
I quickly sent a message to Joe, asking him how to find the surveillance camera at home. Without saying a word, he sent a girl, Linda Rose, to help me check it out.
Sure enough. Linda helped confirm that there were surveillance cameras in the bedroom and bathroom.
Fortunately, they were not found anywhere else.
In order not to alert the enemy, I didn’t let Linda remove the surveillance camera.
I have to see what’s in Lola’s folder before deciding on the next step,
As a woman herself, Linda was extremely sympathetic to my situation, and we both knew tacitly where those photos and videos eventually ended up..
Linda opened her laptop and quickly helped me hack into the surveillance camera.
Unless the other party was a master hacker, they would not notice that the surveillance had stopped working. After I opened Lola’s folder, my heart was trembling.
Lola suffered inhuman treatment for two years. Perhaps, due to insufficient memory, more of the information was not
saved.
She didn’t have any mental illness at all; she was just one of Eason’s targets of revenge.
From the records of his torture of Lola, I restored the whole truth.
Eason and I met because of an accident.
During my junior year, I was returning to the dormitory after finishing an experiment in the medical school building. I could have taken another brightly lit path back to the dormitory, but it would have required a long detour.
I chose the shortcut without hesitation, which only passed by a playground and the back hill behind the female dormitory building.
Because this road was closest to the medical school and was close to the back mountain. Few people walk on it at night, so alumni called it the “Road of No Return”
It was winter, and I finished the experiment alone. I was shivering with cold and just wanted to go back to the dormitory as soon as possible to get some hot water and take a bath to warm myself up.
I am a well–known experiment mania. As long as I give her notice in advance, the dormitory manager Lily will always open the door for me after 11 o’clock.
But that night, it was already 12 o’clock when I finished the experiment. I was afraid that Lily would wait too long, so I almost ran all the way to the dormitory.
The shadows of the trees on both sides of the road danced under the dim street lights. I half–closed my eyes, scared to death.
In fact, nothing had ever happened on this road.
But, something happened to me.
A tall and strong man rushed out from the bottom of the mountain, and I was so scared that I fell to the ground. He was wearing a thick fur hat, revealing only a pair of blurry and obscene eyes.

When he approached me as if I were his prey, it was too late for me to shout for help.
He covered my mouth tightly and dragged me into the deep ditch between the back mountain and the concrete road. I struggled desperately, but it was no use because the ditch was just wide enough for one person, and after I was dragged in, there was nowhere to struggle,
I could sense his panic, and I tried to beg him for mercy, but he just kept tugging at my clothes without saying a word. When the cold wind blew through my thin shirt, and I was almost in despair, Lily came to find me with some people. She held a flashlight and kept calling my name.
gave up struggling, fumbled for my phone, and turned on the sound on my phone.
When the phone rang, I felt alive.
He was just a little bit away from success.
