Chapter 49
Wilbur felt that something was off with the whole event.
In theory, they would typically invite the loey members of the clan for a banquet, with a hundred or so people from the three major clans. That would already be considered a large gathering. The manor had around four to five hundred people at the moment. Was that not a little bit excessive?
He thought about it and decided to sneak inside first. He would go home if there were too many people or outsiders. He did not want to make an appearance in front of so many people.
He transformed himself to look like Trevor before he got out of the car and then walked toward the manor.
There were cars still coming in. People walked in groups, chatting and laughing on their way to the manor.
Wilbur arrived at the door. He did not recognize any of the people who passed him by.
He found it strange that there was no one at the door. It was as if everyone was allowed to enter.
The manor was the home of the Owens. Jeremy lived there and they had family business to handle there. Why would they let anyone walk in just like that?
Wilbur thought it was weird.
He frowned and slowly headed inside. He passed through the hallway.
People kept moving around him, but no one asked him anything. No one checked his identification. It was as though thry were not on private property.
Wilbur finally arrived at the courtyard after ten minutes. It was a spacious courtyard.
The courtyard was filled with around four to five hundred chairs, and they were almost fully occupied, creating a densely packed mass of people.
Wilbur looked around and noticed that he only recognized a dozen or so people at the front who were responsible for arranging the seating, whom he had seen during the battle with Jeremy Owens on Sealake Island. He did not recognize the others.
He quietly sat in the back to observe. He wanted to find out what the three major clans were up to.
It did not look like a simple lecture event to him.
The three major clans would not invite so many people without informing him. Something was definitely going on, so he felt like it was better not to show his face.
Meanwhile, a few people walked in. There were no seats left at the front, so they chose to sit next to Wilbur.
Wilbur noticed that the heads of the three clans were not there yet.
Things did not add up. Not only were they not there to greet their guests, but they were also nowhere to be seen
He was feeling more confused by the moment.
The people next to him had begun whispering among themselves.
“Brother, you said the three major clans sent out invitations to all the cultivators of Seechertown. What do you think they are up to this time?” asked a girl to the man sitting next to her.
The man shrugged and replied, “Who knows? The three major clans usually don’t pay attention to us. I wonder what’s gotten into them this time.”
“Shush! Do you want to die?” The middle–aged man next to him heard that and immediately scolded him in a quiet voice.
The man mumbled and asked, “What do you think their goals?”
“I have no idea. But how can the minor clans not attend when the three major claus send out the invitations? We just have to

po along with it,” replied the middle–aged man while frowning.
Wilbur overheard everything.
They were clearly not from the three major clans. All of the minor cultivation clans were there except for the three major clans themselves.
Why would the three major clans do that?
Were they trying to ambush him with a group attack?
That was not possible. Not every one of these clans would obey then. Even if they did, did the three major clans think they had a chance of winning?
Was their influence that significant?
Wilbur did not think much of the three major clans, but seeing the turnout, he had to admit their influence was quite impressive.
Wilbur turned to the middle–aged man next to him and asked out of curiosity, “Excuse me. May I ask which clan you belong
