Chapter Billionaire My Husband 69
CHAPTER 69 JESS
I stared back at Luke, pressing myself further into the cool wall, hoping it would clear my head from this heated haze I was in. I dug my fingers into the concrete, gripping the wall like it was some sort of lifeline, and Luke was the deep, dark ocean that threatened to drown m What the hell just happened?
One minute, I was about to kiss Nick, and the next, I was kissing Luke.
Luke, who left me alone that morning.
Luke, who didn't bother talking to me after - was now acting like some jealous boyfriend and looking at me like I was about to be dinner.
We stared at each other like it was a competition. Whoever blinked, twitched, or even breathed first would lose.
I wanted to ask him what the hell he was thinking, but that meant moving and, ergo, losing.
I felt his eyes rake over my body, and goosebumps erupted as if The were physically touching me. His gaze stopped at my thighs, where my dress was crumpled.
Then his eyes snapped up to mine, and my breath hitched in my throat. His gaze was intense and invading. I almost thought he

could read my mind.
I shook my head to clear the fog, and even though my mind was telling me that I should walk right up to him, slap him, and tell him to go to hell away from me, my body wanted the opposite.
I broke the silence first, sucking in air, feeling my chest rise and strain against the thin material of m dress. I was hot but cold at the same time.
I sucked in the air and looked him over. Luke wore a tight-fitted black shirt with dark denim that hugged his massive thighs like always. I could see the outline of his muscles rippling beneath the thin cotton material as he breathed, and I hate to admit it- but he looked good. He always looked good. This half-roman half-greek god walking around.
Some words flickered through my mind, but my mouth couldn't form words. This was supposed to be my night. My birthday. I was supposed to have whatever I wanted, and Luke ruined everything. It pissed me off.
"Jessica," Luke breathed my name, snapping me out of my train of thought. Luke was clenching his jaw like he couldn't decide what he wanted to do. I was guessing he wanted to drag me out of this club, or maybe he wanted...
No-that kiss was Luke trying to stake his claim. He wanted to show Nick that he wasn't going to win. That didn't have anything to do with me, did it?
"Luke," I responded equally softly, his name heavy with feelings on my tongue.
Luke took a step forward, and I backed up further against the

wall. He paused, and then I felt the thin strap of my dress slide off my shoulder, and Luke saw it, too. His eyes suddenly burned with emotion. I think I stopped breathing. "What are you..." The words failed me as he stepped even closer. I had nowhere to go. Walls were on either side of me, and Luke blocked my only escape.
Luke reached out a hand, his fingers grazing across my collarbone and over my shoulder to where the strap had fallen. I thought he would pull it back up, but he didn't; instead, his
knuckles grazed up my neck until he reached my jaw, letting his thumb trace my bottom lip.
"This mouth..." Luke whispered more to himself than to me. He seemed lost in the touch, and I didn't dare move. His hand flattened against my throat, but his touch was soft, and I knew he would never hurt me, the placement of his hand made me incline my head automati the concrete behind me, and when I leaned in, his lips finding the soft, sensitive part where my neck. stopped and my shoulder started, I gasped. The contact was so light but so intense all at once. My back arched off the wall, but Luke held me in place, his grip beneath my throat a little firmer but not alarmingly so.
I felt his lips press into my skin, and he inhaled before pulling back and leveling his eyes with mine. My head was still tilted up, and Luke was looming over me. "Jessica. I'm doing my best not to take you and
fuck you right here against this wall so hard that my name is the only thing you remember," His confession ricocheted through me, finally pooling low, very low. Maybe it was a threat? 07:55

My legs clamped together to stop the heat from pooling there. I bit down on my lower lip to try and stop a whimper from clawing its way out.
I was still frozen in this moment. had completely forgotten about the club, about the fact that someone could walk in at any second and find me or us. What would it look like, even?
Luckily, Luke's phone started buzzing, breaking the moment. I sighed with relief because even though I was trying my best to hold my ground, I knew I would cave. If he kissed me again, I would have given in and let him do whatever he wanted to me.
I couldn't hear the conversation, but when Luke turned his back, trying to focus on what the person on the phone was saying, I saw a gap and made a run for it. I pushed off the wall so fast that Luke didn't stand a chance of catching me. I disappeared through the crowd an
