Chapter Unlikely Allies
Atlas looked out of the thick glass window in his inn room, it had been two weeks, and he was unable to get access to Gravatia Academy. His patience was wearing thin, and he was tired of having to thwart assassination attempts on Helios.
Syl was sat on his bed reading a book. While Helios was pacing about the room.
"Quit pacing" Atlas grunted. "I'm busy thinking over here" He added. Helios sighed and stopped. At that moment the door slid open. Atlas jumped across the room to the door, with his Celestial Blade at the ready.
The door opened further to reveal Abyssia.
"About time you showed up again" Atlas grunted as his blade faded away, at that moment, Lumina stumbled in and fell unconscious on one of the beds.
"Is that who I think it is?!" Syl roared, preparing to summon his Celestial Warhammer.
"Stop!" Abyssia shouted. "There's more important things going on right now" She added.
"I have to agree with the boy, bringing this genocidal maniac here... what are you even thinking?" Helios asked.
"This 'genocidal maniac' has been helping me push back forces beyond your reckoning" Abyssia sighed.
"How do you work that one out?" Atlas asked as he approached Lumina.
"Let's just say, there is a much bigger threat to Crystalla, that needs to be dealt with, that requires us all to work together" Abyssia explained. Syl walked over to Lumina and poked her.
"So, what's up with her?" Syl asked.
"She's just had a complete blood transfer" Abyssia explained. "I brought her here to place in your care. I have business to deal with in Farenai" She added.
"Place... Lumina... in our care?" Atlas asked, stunned.
"Yes, it will be your job to bring her to Lumina Academy when the time is right" Abyssia nodded. "You will know when that is, myself and Roisin will also be there" She added.
"Rewind a little bit" Syl said as he waved his hands in the air. "Why did Lumina have a complete blood transfer?" He asked, pointing at Lumina.
"Okay, long story short, ancient beings who call themselves the Senior Partners forced her into a blood bond. They do this by making you sign a contract, as you do, you stab yourself in the back of your hand. This gives them control over you" Abyssia explained. "So, please, don't sign any contracts in the near future" She shrugged.
Atlas, Syl and Helios looked confused.
"Just don't sign contracts... right?" Abyssia sighed.
"I'll take your word for it, I guess" Atlas nodded, the other two agreed too. "Now, how are we supposed to get to Gravatia Academy?" Atlas asked.
"My sister can aid you there" Abyssia smiled.
"By slaughtering the entire city?" Syl grunted.
"No, by disguising herself as the one of the Professors" Abyssia explained.
"Are you sure she'll be convincing enough?" Syl asked. "We don't need them finding out that we've got the worlds most wanted women, alongside an Imperial" He added.
"Syl, she pretended to be your sister's friend for a good few months without detection, so I think she'll manage a few hours as a random professor" Abyssia chuckled.
"She did WHAT?!" Syl yelled.
"Don't worry, Roisin wasn't harmed, by Lumina, that is" Abyssia sighed.
"This was when she was infused?" Syl asked.
"Right" Abyssia nodded.
"When Dex was killed..." Atlas seethed as he looked at Lumina.
"Keep your eye on the big picture, Sky Captain" Abyssia frowned.
"Fine, but the moment we do whatever we need to do, she's dead" Atlas threatened.
Lumina opened her eyes and looked at Atlas.
"I'd like to see you try, human" She smirked. Atlas roared with anger and lunged at Lumina, who pushed him back across the room with a flick of her wrist. "But not yet" She added.
"Do we really need to take her with us?" Syl sighed.
"Yes, it's instrumental that our efforts are coordinated" Abyssia nodded. "Now, I need to go, play nice" Abyssia said as she left and closed the door.
Lumina sighed and looked at Atlas, Syl and Helios.
"Why'd I have to get put with the B-Team?" She asked.
"Because Roisin would tear your throat out?" Atlas shrugged.
"Oh, right, she did try to do that already, so it does make sense" Lumina laughed. Syl frowned.
"How can you be so flippant after killing so many?" Syl growled.
"Killing so many? I only killed Humans, Hubuns and Elvmen, not really murder" Lumina shrugged.
"Excuse me?" Helios asked.
"You are excused" Lumina said, as she laid back.
"What do you mean, not murder?" Helios asked again.
"You think yourself the same as me?" Lumina chuckled. "You're a puny insect, you eat, multiply and murder and die" She shrugged.
"You do three of them already, so maybe if you just die, you'll be on the same level as us?" Syl smirked.
"Oh, very astute, tell me, does your scar still hurt?" Lumina smirked as she recalled impaling him with a shard of light back as Una Academy, in Terrana.
"Not since I got rid of your curse" Syl shrugged.
"I bet it took a long time to remove the light, right?" Lumina asked. "I could fill you with light in mere moments and you couldn't stop me" She laughed.
"Arranthian removed it for me" Syl sighed. The name gave Lumina paused.
"Arranthian..." She sighed. "I'm sorry, I get carried away..." Lumina apologised.
"Whatever" Syl frowned, as he walked over to the window, and looked at the dense smog outside.
