Chapter The Chorus of Benevolence
Over a year and a half ago...
Lumina finally reached the ruined city, after the long journey from Aranei. Her plans had fallen apart, and she no longer felt she could continue on the path she had planned, ruling the world had once seemed exciting.
Now she saw her plans for what they were, short-sighted and pointless, to rule the world she would have had to turn it to dust. While it may have made Crystalla a blank canvas, a canvas without paint is just blank and empty.
Lumina walked slowly through the empty streets, on which her citizens had once roamed. Lumina suddenly felt a sharp pain in her head. In her mind she saw a face.
The face was that of the boy who had died by her own hand. Was this guilt? She'd lain waste to so many cities, and taken so many lives, why should his be different? Lumina snapped out of her thoughts and headed toward the ruins of Lumina Academy.
When she reached the Academy, she walked over to her chain and sat down, as she did, she closed her eyes and fell into a slumber.
In her dreams she saw a vision, a tear in the fabric of reality, a spear of unknown origin, Dex's face, and the tear in reality above the Academy.
Lumina shot awake, she looked high into the sky, the tear wasn't real. She sighed and looked at the room ahead of her, in the hand of a fallen statue was the spear from her dreams... had it always been here?
Lumina stood up and made her way over to the fallen statue, as she knelt down to examine it, she noticed the face of the statue resembled Dex, it even had the Hubun ears.
"What?" She asked herself, before turning back to the spear, she picked it up, the spear seemed to be made from some unknown alloy. On the head of the spear, there was an engraving, it resembled the throne and a tear in the sky above.
Lumina paused for a moment, this all seemed impossible, had someone planted this here? Was this a trap? No matter, if it was, she could easily beat whoever it was. Lumina pondered for a moment, before aiming the spear, to the spot in the sky where the tear had been in her dreams.
She threw the spear into the air, as it reached the point, the sky tore, just as it had in her dream. This was impossible, she thought to herself. No sooner had the sky torn, than she felt herself being lifted in the air toward the tear. As she neared the boundary between Crystalla and this unknown place, she drifted out of consciousness. Before she passed out she heard one word.
Benevolence.
