Chapter 466

It was hard to believe that someone as dramatic and whiny as Joanna was also the calm person who had saved Winston during his abduction.

Winston’s gaze darkened as he uttered lightly, “Let her go, and I’ll become your hostage.”

The onlookers were stunned after hearing that.

“Wow, Mr. Greer is actually offering himself as a hostage! He must really love Joanna.”

“Joanna doesn’t even compare to Mr. Greer. She’s made him willingly offer himself as a hostage!”

The spectators were awed by the depth of Winston’s affection. Yet, only he was aware of the true motive behind his words.

“Win…” Joanna was touched, too. With tears streaming down her face, she cried out, “Please, don’t. If one of us has to die, let it be me, not you.”

Millie chuckled wryly. What a romantic couple. She then made her way through the crowd and approached them.

Joanna’s eyes flickered with a hint of malice as soon as she spotted Millie.

“Is this someone I sent? But I don’t know her,Millie remarked, stepping

closer.

Hannah glared at Millie and immediately warned, “Ms. Caldwell, stay back! If you come any closer, I’ll push her!”

“Go ahead. It’s none of my concern, anyway.” Millie crossed her arms as she spoke.

Sean was about to follow when his phone rang. So, he turned to answer the

call.

“You! You two are working together, aren’t you?” Joanna accused, pretending to have just realized something.

Millie nodded. “Yes, yes, you’re right. So, go ahead and push her.”

She moved closer while Hannah continued to push Joantia. At that moment, Joanna was bent over, her long hair dancing with the wind and her dress accentuating her figure.

As darkness settled and Millie moved closer the tension in the room suddenly became palpable. The crowd became more alert as they sensed something was off.

Was Milie really the mastermind behind this scheme to harm Joanna? It certainly seemed like she and Hannah were in cahoots.

“D–Don’t come any closer.” Hannah pointed at Millie.

Millie smiled and countered, “Didn’t you say I sent you to do this? Push her already. Why are you hesitating?

“I’m here to back you up. If you really push her, it’s not you who will be in trouble. It’s me. So what are you afraid of?*

Millie’s voice was frosty, and her indifferent manner created an unsettling atmosphere on the deck. She glanced at the sea several times. Though her heart was racing with anxiety, she remained calm.

*Fine! Since you insist I push her, then I… I will do it!* Hannah’s voice trembled as she glanced at Joanna.

She wasn’t someone Millie had sent. She was hired by Joanna to put on an act! Moreover, Joanna didn’t ask Hannah to push her. Could she really do it?

Joanna, on the other hand, was becoming more and more uneasy. Her plan had been for Winston to rescue her, then for Hannah to turn around and tie up Millie before pushing her off the edge.

But Winston hadn’t come to her aid. This led to her plan falling apart completely.

“Win, save me!” Joanna pleaded again.

However, Winston was taking a risk, betting that this whole scenario was a setup. He suspected that Joanna had staged this to frame Millie and that she wouldn’t be pushed off the ship.

Joanna noticed the skepticism in his eyes. This might be her only chance to win him over.

With that in mind, Joanna glanced back at the ocean. The waves were like giant sharks. She would be as insignificant as a needle if she fell into the water. What was she supposed to do?

With only a one–percent chance of survival and winning Winston’s heart, what choice should she make?

Winston stared at Joanna and slowly spoke up. “So, this is all an act.”

Joanna knew that Winston had caught on to something. With no other alternatives, she screamed and threw herself over the railing.

“Oh my gosh!” The crowd erupted into chaos.
