“Who received the package?” I asked.

“Darlene, it was Darlene who took the package from me,” he responded.

“Thank you, you can leave,” I said to him.

Laila opened the door and I watched her make her way to my table, her brows drawn close as her eyes were locked in mine.

“It’s nothing?” I responded, stretching my hand so she could give me the document she was holding.

Time, the word time made my heart ache and for the first time in a long time, I could feel tears welled up my eyes.
