Book 6: Chapter 26:2: Adding Another Name to the Grudge List, Part 2
He Who Knows Fate: What should be the first thing I say to reporters after finishing my paper early and leaving the examination hall?
Umaru-chan: Erm…Strengthen Skadi? contemporary romance
He Who Knows Fate: We don’t have the Arknights game in our world, at least not yet, but we do have Kallen Fantasy.
Umaru-chan: Kallen Fantasy?
He Who Knows Fate: It’s a spin-off of Honkai Impact 3rd, developed by Otto. Since Otto exists in our world, so does the game.
[TL Note: The already explains what it is. Here is more information on Otto Entertainment, the producer of the spin-off games in the Honkai Impact 3rd world: /wiki/Otto_Entertainment.]
Efreet: Then just say, “Yae and Kallen forever!”
Umaru-chan: Isn’t that a bad idea?
He Who Knows Fate: I don’t want Otto to target me yet.
He Who Knows Fate: Forget it. I can’t rely on you guys for serious matters. What misfortune at one’s doorstep!
Self-Centered Elder Sister Shiki: …Misfortune…
Time Witch: …At…
Vengeance Witch: …One’s…
Herrscher of Pufferfish: …Doorstep…
He Who Knows Fate: Forget it, all of you.
King Wolffy: Honestly, is this really a serious matter?
Kal’tsit: Nothing’s ever serious in this group chat.
Chen Heng thought about it and realized no one ever discussed work in this chat group.
Lord of the White Night: Does anyone want to team up against Azi Dahaka? Only pure humans, no others.
[TL Note: Azi Dahaka is a character from Mondaiji tachi ga Isekai Kara Kuru Sō Desu yo? or Problem Children Are Coming from Another World, Aren’t They? Appearing as a white, three-headed dragon, this character was inspired by an evil Persian mythological figure of the same name. /wiki/Azi_Dahaka.]
He Who Knows Fate: Unfortunately, there aren’t many pure humans in this group, and I’m unsure if I can beat it as I am now.
Ding! Welcome, One Punch Baldy, to the Dimension Administrators Association!
[Author Note: That’s right. A regular of chat groups, Master Saitama. I had been thinking that the Dimension Administrators Association was lacking in top-tier combat prowess.]
[TL Note: Saitama is from One Punch Man, the main character of the manga/anime. He is overpowered and can defeat all enemies with one punch. Here is more information about him: /wiki/Saitama.]
He Who Knows Fate: Great, here’s the human powerhouse you needed.
He Who Knows Fate: I have to turn in my paper. You all keep chatting.
Flat-Chested Chinese: Oh, Chen Heng, your senior sister will pick you up.
He Who Knows Fate: My senior sister? Cheng Lixue?
Flat-Chested Chinese: Yes.
He Who Knows Fate: …
At that moment, Chen Heng knew what he’d say when he left.
As long as you respect the Flat-Chested Chinese, we’re siblings from different parents.
Courting death? No problem. After all, I can’t die. ┑( ̄Д ̄)┍
At 10:30 sharp, Chen Heng raised his hand.
The middle-aged female proctor immediately stood up from her seat upon seeing Chen Heng’s hand. Then she approached and asked kindly, “Student, what’s the matter?”
“I’ve finished. I want to turn in my exam,” Chen Heng replied succinctly.
“Huh?” In all the years this teacher had supervised exams, she had seldom seen students finish their Chinese language papers early during college entrance exams. Most took their time, checking their answers twice, with slower writers barely finishing in time.
This teacher glanced up at the clock over the chalkboard. The timing was impeccable; Chen Heng was the first to want to submit his paper the very moment it was allowed.
Had the student been her own, the teacher might’ve given him a talking-to.
“Student, are you sure you’ve finished? Maybe check it a few more times,” she suggested, showing genuine concern, obviously taking this seriously.
Yet, even as she spoke, she walked toward Chen Heng.
“I’ve finished and checked it.”
That proctor took a look at Chen Heng’s paper and answer sheet when she arrived. He cooperatively showed her his answer sheet, even flipping the pages.
“Well, you are allowed to hand in your answer sheet already. If you really want to, you may submit it.”
Once Chen Heng exited the examination hall, he headed straight for the school gate. On the way, he encountered numerous inquiries from the Special Affairs Bureau. Any student wandering outside the exam venue would draw attention.
Some places required early finishers of the college entrance exams to wait in designated areas. However, there was no such rule in Vast Sea City. If you finished early, you could leave.
After leaving the hall, Chen Heng felt a change in the school’s atmosphere. Even though this was only the first paper, his perspective had shifted. However, he wasn’t as exhilarated as he thought he’d be.
Since joining the Dimension Administrators Association, Chen Heng felt his horizons had broadened, no longer confined to this world.
Even though he lived in a supreme-martial world, it couldn’t quell his desire to explore countless realms. Most importantly, gathering 1,000 high-grade sword conceptions would be a challenge without such exploration. Furthermore, the Chiliad Sword Conception didn’t strictly need 1,000 sets. That was just the minimum; the more, the merrier.
As Chen Heng left the school, a reporter approached him.
“This student, how do you feel about the paper? How do you think you did?” The reporter’s microphone almost bumped into Chen Heng’s lips, and other reporters quickly gathered around.
As a student from Vast Sea City First High School, the city’s premier school, he had a higher chance of being the top scorer, even if there was no guarantee. In any case, interviewing him was much better than lurking outside a random school.
“Am I the first to leave?” Chen Heng asked, although he knew the answer.
“Yes.”
“Personally, the Chinese language paper wasn’t too hard. However, the penultimate question was peculiar. I wonder which teacher came up with it. I won’t mention specifics now, but everyone will know once the exams are over.”
“Are you a student from Vast Sea City First High School?”
“Obviously.” Chen Heng gestured to his school uniform, giving the reporter an amused look as though looking at an idiot.
“Any words for everyone, being the first to exit from Vast Sea City First High School?”
