In My Mind In His World

Chapter CHAPTER 281

Chapter 0281

“Ah! Do you know each other?” The director clapped his hands. He desperately tried to smooth things over as if he was oblivious to the awkward atmosphere.

“That’s great! Then I don’t need to make introductions. Mr. M us and Ms. Jones, you two have a good chat. I won’t disturb you!”

He nodded repeatedly and backed away. He was usually the big–shot TV director who threw his weight around at the station, but now, he looked like a submissive servant. He had been bowing ever since he entered the room.

I instantly regretted coming. I did want an opportunity to make a name for myself, but from the look of Marcus‘ face, he did not look like he was here to offer me a chance.

“Never mind,” I called out to the director. “I should be the one leaving. I have. nothing to discuss with him. Also, don’t contact me again. We’ll never collaborate again in the future!”

I glanced at Marcus and turned to leave. To my surprise, he grabbed my wrist. I instantly felt my feet leave the ground as Marcus pulled me into his

arms.

“Arianna, are you not even going to say hello to me?”

His deliberate and intimate gesture would make anyone misunderstand the situation. The director’s smile turned sleazy as he put on an understanding look. He then dashed out of the room without looking back.

Marcus released me as soon as the door closed before pushing me away. He even brushed off his clothes as if touching me had dirtied his jacket.

Frowning, he sniffed his jacket. He then took it off and threw it in the trash.

I sneered. “If you don’t like how I smell, why did you get so close? Weren’t you asking for it?”

Marcus paused and looked up at me. For a moment, his ice–cold gaze scared me a little.

His eyes were different from Nicholas‘. Having lived with Ancholes for so long, I knew he would not actually hurt the even when he was displeased But I felt danger looking at Marcus now

He looked like a predatory wolf, wanting to tear its prey apart. He laue coldly. “Where did you go yesterday?”

“Where I go is none of your business!”

“It might not be my business, but I know you went to see my brother No one has ever disregarded my demands like this. If I remember correctly, you’ve already made a mistake just right after I met you!”

Before I could respond, one of the men behind Marcus suddenly stood up He looked at me with a malicious grin.

“Mr. Marcus, why waste words on this little girl? My brother and I are experts when it comes to disciplining people. Just leave it to us…”

I quickly grabbed a wine glass from the table and smashed it against the man’s head. He stumbled backward and collapsed onto the sofa.

As the glass shattered on his forehead, shards flew everywhere. He was bleeding instantly.

“Excuse me, but no one has ever spoken to me like that before! I’m pretty good at shutting people up!”

The man covered his forehead with one hand while pointing at me with the other and cursed. I ignored him. Looking at Marcus, all my pretense of politeness was gone.

“If this is how people in the Shelman Group behave, I’d rather Pete not get involved. I’m afraid dirty men like you guys might pollute the air around him!”

Marcus did not get angry. He remained smiling calmly. “I think I understand what Pete likes about you now. But it’s useless.

“If you do as I say, I will still see you as my little sister. But since you insist on getting involved with Pete, don’t blame me for being ruthless. You can’t expect my foolish brother to pick up Nicholas‘ cast–off!”
