Chapter 2
That blond hair that reached just past his ears and blue eyes were the same as my sketches at home. It could not be. My mind was playing tricks on me from exhaustion. Yeah, that was it. It had to be. Nothing else made fucking sense and I could not stop myself from staring. All the girls in class were giggling and whispering. I could not blame them. He was the best-looking, guy, I had ever seen but at the same time, I was cautious of him.
“Take a seat at the back, Hayden. And make it snappy. My class has been interrupted one too many times today.” Mr. Parsons exclaimed and returned to his desk busy mumbling to himself about no one having any respect anymore.
Hayden started toward the back as if he had not a care in the world and shrugged his bag strap higher up his shoulder. He must have been six-foot-four at least and my god, those dark denim pants and black shirt hugged his body well. I was terrified as hell, but I was not blind either. I was so transfixed by looking at him that I did not realize where he was heading until he sat down beside me. Yeah, today was going to be a long day but it just got a hell of a lot more interesting.
Hayden was sitting back with his legs spread far out and arms crossed over his chest as the desk could barely contain him. He looked more like a model posing than a student that just got sent to his desk. As he sat there, I was trying to find differences in his features from the guy from my dreams, but I just couldn’t seem to. It was driving me insane. How the fuck was this even possible?
“Like what you see?” Hayden said whilst smirking sideways at me.
Oh my God! Snapping my head towards the front of the classroom as quickly as possible, I felt my face flush. That was so embarrassing! Aria, pull yourself together! I mentally chastised myself. Hayden was now the one doing the staring and it was becoming ridiculously hot in this classroom suddenly.
God, I am such an idiot. He probably was just staring because he knew that he had gotten to me and was getting some sick thrill out of watching me squirm in my skin from the humiliation.
As the bell rang, I got up as quickly as possible, attempting to make a quick escape, but my bag strap caught on the chair and yanked me back straight into Hayden. Looking up slowly I saw every dent in his lean muscle as he steadied himself and me.
“Sorry! I, I didn’t mean to knock into you like that.” I stammered, face flushing once more.
“No problem.” was all he said and then disappeared into the hallway bustling with students.
Sighing, I gathered my bag and headed out of the classroom when I noticed everyone still in the room staring at me as I went. Yeah, I was probably already labeled as the new geek, especially after that little stunt…
Ignoring the faces all glued to my departure, I headed upstairs to my next class. Hopefully, I would have a better time than in the previous class and could get this day over and done with as soon as possible. I only had two classes today. Each class was ninety minutes long. This school had a very strange system going on here, but I was not about to complain. Two classes were simply fine by me. I had art next and was excited. It was the only class that I ever really cared about no matter how long my stay at the latest school was.
The hallways were buzzing with people. None of them were paying me any notice. It seemed as if there were not actually that many students in the school. There was maybe about eighty students maximum. Fucking weird. I was in schools previously that had more students in just one grade…
Finding my art class was easy. You could not miss the artwork up everywhere and the desks splattered with paint as well as the easels up in the back. The room had large windows that let it fill with almost just ambient light. The people entering were quite obviously art students. They all were dressed very uniquely and just had that typical artistic look about them.
Standing out in the hallway, I waited for everyone to go in and for the hall to empty into the various classrooms. Pushing myself forward I entered the room and headed for the women in the front.
My teacher was a tall woman that looked mid-twenties with dyed black hair with a blue streak in it that was cut in an angled bob. As I approached, she looked up at me and smiled. Extending her hand, she introduced herself,
“Hi, I’m Miss Tinsel. Do not laugh at the name, I didn’t have a choice. You may call me Amy. I hate the Miss Tinsel thing. The formalities make me feel old.” she said smiling. Shaking her hand, I smiled back, liking her already.
“Hi Amy, I’m Aria.”
“It’s nice to meet you, Aria. I do hope you find Parma High really to your liking. We rarely get new students. To be honest, it can get a bit dull, but I have a feeling that you’re going to fit in simply fine.” She spoke.
I was about to respond to her when she held up her finger in a gesture for me to wait. Without even turning she all but just said “Dan, if you do not stop chewing that gum, I’m going to come over there and put it somewhere that never sees any sun. Got it?”
Trying hard to hold back my laughter, I found the boy she was talking to busy sauntering over to the trash can to throw his gum in. I liked this teacher. She was awesome. Turning back to Amy I saw she was digging out a folder with my name on it from her desk.
“Here’s your work for the semester with all the due dates. I find it much easier to hand the work out like this than to do it for each project. Every third class we will be doing theory, the rest of the time you will be doing your practical work. I only have one desk open for you. You will be sitting next to Cassie.”
Nodding as I took the folder she called out to the girl, Cassie, whom I was going to be sitting next to. Looking up I saw who Cassie was. She was a brunette with extremely straight hair and a soft demeanor. She was pretty and smiled shyly at me as I approached and sat down next to her, dumping my things on the desk.
