I fell in love in another world

Chapter 2

The wind blew gently, pushing the healthy green grass that surrounded Luna's body. One strand of grass tickled Luna's nose, causing Luna to awake.

She opened her eyes and peered up in the blue sky. It took her three blinks before she regained her memories.

Wait a minute! What happened to me? H-how did I get here? Where is here!? Her mind and body scrambled to find answers. Little by little she answered them herself. She only knew two things for certain. She was now in an unknown location, that the scary golden man with purple eyes brought her, and she was totally lost.

Luna rose up from the field of grass and scanned her surroundings. She was in a forest. She had no idea how she even appeared in a place near forestry. She lived in Chicago, specifically a city-like area, that had no forest near it.

She held herself, knowing she wasn't near home anymore.

Hours had gone by, Luna was exhausted and hot. She knew wherever that man took her, had to be days after the incident, because of how bright the sky was. Her black short hair stuck to her neck. Every time she moved it, it stuck again. To say Luna was frustrated would be an understatement.

She was kidnapped, taken to an unknown place, hot and tired beyond belief, but she refused to stop and rest. She desperately wanted to find civilization before it turned afternoon.

*Clank*

The sound of metal clashing got Luna's attention. The sound kept continuing behind a tall bush. Luna was filled with excitement. She wondered if the sound she heard was indeed a human.

Sticking both her hands inside the bush, she spread it sideways and looked through. There she saw four grown men in suits of metal armor, fighting. To be exact they were sword fighting. Luna looked in amazement, at how each of the knights fought, neither giving up on the fight. Two of the men suddenly stopped and sat near a tree, chatting about their fight.

Luna knew it was very odd to see this kind of medieval times look out of nowhere, but these four were the only humans she's seen in hours. She had no choice but to greet them.

"U-um hello?"

All the men stopped in unison. This caused Luna to be in extreme caution. The men continued to stare at her. All looked shocked and amazed.

"I-I'm so sorry to intrude on you all with your activities, but I desperately need help. You see, I have no idea where I am." Luna started to fiddle with her hands as her eyes kept swerving to them and her boots.

One of the knights with brown hair and brown eyes spoke. "My lady, what on earth are you doing in the woods?"

Another knight got up from the tree and spoke too. His dark brown hair was very short and jagged. "Where are you from...you have such strange clothes."

Luna kicked a rock. "I-I don't know, please you have to help me. I just need to get to a city or a local Sheriffs's office. Do any of you know where Chicago is?"

All the knights looked at her in confusion. They all had no idea what she was talking about. They never heard of a place called Chicago or a city, not even a Sheriff. So the bigger knight with blonde hair long enough to touch his ears opened his mouth.

"My lady, we have no idea what those things you said are, however we know there's a town nearby, that we can show you."

The brown-haired knight nodded in agreement. "Yes, yes excellent idea Derrek. In town I'm sure you'll be able to find a map, to wherever you are looking for."

Luna beamed and her smile grew. "Really, you'd really help a stranger like me?"

They all nodded like her words were obvious. "We wouldn't dare leave a beauty, as yourself in these woods. There are monsters and creatures that would be able to gobble you in a sec."

Luna giggled at them. Thinking they were exaggerating, but when they all stared at her in seriousness, she gulped. What have I gotten myself into?

One of the knights, that hadn't spoken yet brought out black horses. He was tall and slender with a mean mug that would make a baby cry. Luna made sure to not get close to him.

The nice knight with the brown hair offered her to ride with him, on his horse. She agreed and sat in the back. Luna had ridden a horse before, but only as a passenger. The last time she went was on her tenth birthday. Her parents had finally taken her to a farm, and let her ride a horse, with a professional of course. Nevertheless, Luna was very happy that day.

While riding he gave her his name and his comrades. His name was Lex, The dark brown-haired man's name was Alexavier, the slender man was Draco, and the last man with blonde hair was Derrek.

As they trodded forward, Luna realized something very odd. All the knight's eyes were auburn. She didn't know why she hadn't noticed it before. But she didn't want to think these kind knights were suspicious, but after what happened with the supposedly 'old man', she grew a little frightened.

Yet she decided to trust them until they led her to the town.

Breaking the silence. Luna introduced herself too and thanked them for helping her. She explained what happened to her, but left out the part where the old man turned beautiful and started to glow and the words he spoke. She mainly pointed out she was kidnapped. She didn't want them to think she was out of her mind.

Almost all the knights showed her sympathy and said kind words. Everyone except Draco.

Long minutes had passed but they had finally led her toward the town. It was huge and very lively. The road was filled with people selling and buying, and a few wooden carriages with donkeys strolling through. Luna leaned on the horse getting a better look at the townspeople. They all looked normal, other than the fact they wore old-looking clothes.

Have I traveled back in time? Luna reluctantly thought.

The knights told her, they would wait if she found anything. So Luna hopped off Lex's horse and started to ask around. But everywhere she went, nobody had the answer she needed or wanted. In fact, a lot of people were quite rude to her. Some would even shove right passed her. In the last attempt she walked to a tall man with a twirly black mustache, who was selling flowers. His brown eyes looked at her and happily smiled at the sight of her, which made Luna feel less nervous approaching him.

"Hello s-"

The man interrupted Luna with a glee tone. "Young beautiful lady, would you like a white rose, it will enhance your charm, Zelenk swear it." The man carried a big basket of white roses and a few daisies.

Luna's lips curled into an almost smile. "U-uh no, I'm sorry but I have no money at the moment to buy your precious flowers. I came to you sir because I was hoping you could tell me where I am."

The man sighed. "I see you don't want to buy Zelenks flowers." The man pouted and sagged his basket. Luna nervously scratched her head as she was thinking if the man liked to talk in the third person. "Well if you really want to know where you are pretty lady then Zelenk will happily tell you," He put his hands on his hips and smiled. "You are in Duke Geralds duchy. He built this lovely town of ours years ago, Zelenk was only a baby when came here."

Zelenk was about to continue the rant but Luna lightly touched his shoulder. "Oh that's nice, but if I may ask a kinda weird question. Please tell me I'm not in a world called Vendilla. Am I?"

He blinked two times at Luna before awkwardly laughing. "Why of course you are young lady, where else would you be?"

Luna's heart sank and she could feel her body drop. "T-there's no way...I-I was just on earth. I was...t-this has t-to be a dream. There's no w-way." Flashbacks of the mysterious man started to float in her mind. Every word he said, everything he did. That he was some kind of searcher, that she was forced to come to this land for a purpose. Luna couldn't believe it. She felt she had no purpose, other than to live like every other normal human. She promised her parents, before their dying breaths, that she would be good and help people in need. But did their teachings catch her astray? If she hadn't been nice to that man, would he have found someone else?

Zelenk grabbed Luna's shoulders in an attempt to pull her together but Luna was too much in a frightened state. She fainted.

When Luna woke up, she was yet again in an unfamiliar place. She was no longer in town, but instead in a huge fancy room. Everything was grand and fancy. As amazed as she was, she didn't find the room to be all that friendly or inviting. It gave the feeling of something dark. Luna didn't just think that because of the black curtains or red sheets and covers or the black walls with gold silvered into them. She felt like she could actually feel something heavy and suffocating in the very room she stayed. She blamed this feeling, because of what happened earlier.

As far as Luna could tell it was still morning. She could only guess she was out for a few hours. But it still led her to one question. How did she get to such a place? Luna got off the king-sized bed and looked out the window.

She was shocked. She was in a grand mansion. It was huge, it stretched as far as the end of the hill. The mansion was dark too, however, a mixture of gray and dark navy blue. The grass wasn't as luscious as the forest and instead looked unhealthy. There were gates at the far end of the hill. As far as Luna could tell it surrounded the mansion. Luna had no doubt about it. She was somehow in the Duke's mansion.

A sudden creak caught Luna off guard.

"Oh, I see you're awake dear." An old woman in a maid's uniform came into the room. By the look of it, the maid looked in her 70's. For a slipt second Luna was confused about why and how the woman was still working. The old woman's hair was completely white and pulled into a very loose bun. Her eyes were dark and heavy as if she hadn't slept in days. Worst of all she carried a sliver plater that shook, in the old woman's fragile hands.

On the plater was a glass of water and some bread.

"Yes, please tell me, am I in the Duke's mansion?" Luna nervously walked over to the woman.

The old woman walked fully inside the room, letting the door creak shut. "Why of course you are dear. I must say you look pale. Eat something."

Luna was about to refuse but her stomach had other plans. Cared not that it embarrassed her with its loud growl. "O-okay."

Luna ate the bread. It was alright as far as bread goes, she had better. The water was alright too. Once she was done, she immediately started to ask the old woman questions. How did she get here? What happened? Is the Duke nice? and so on.

The old woman answered to her best ability. She said after Luna had fainted the knights, that Luna was with helped her back to the mansion. The old woman added that the knights worked for the Duke. Which was very surprising to hear. Luna noticed the old woman didn't answer the last question about the duke.

She was going to remind her but the door opened again.

"Miss Luna, the Duke has requested that you come to the grand hall." A middle-aged African man who looked to be a knight as well opened the door. His eyes were auburn which made Luna hold herself. He looked bored until he gazed at Luna. His eyes grew wide and Luna could've sworn she saw a little pink flush into his cheeks.

"T-the Duke wants to see me?" Luna gulped.

The old woman softly patted Luna's hand. "Don't be afraid dear, as long as you listen to what he says, then you'll be fine."

Luna froze. The old woman talked as if something terrible would happen if she didn't do what the Duke wanted. "L-listen to what he says!

“What do you m-mean by-"

The knight spoke. "Come now. Duke Gerald hates to wait long."

The old woman lightly pushed Luna. "Go on dear."

Luna frowned. It seems I really have no choice in the matter.
