I Fell For The Boy His Daddy Was A Bonus

Chapter 43: Whipped Men

“How about a beach proposal?” Gaby suggested. “Kyle did that on his anniversary proposal.”
“At the rooftop! Hire a private chef. Get a helicopter ride!” Kate advised. “I saw that on TV. Seems great!”
“You can surprise her at the office,” Kenzie added.
“An intimate one is fine too, son. Just... do it right,” Samantha also gave her two cents.
The ladies surrounded Kaleb as he sat on one chair in front of the table. Scarlett settled across from them, feeling sheepish at
how Kaleb’s family was practically planning his proposal right in front of her.
“And what kind of proposal is that when you simply put it in her hand? While sleeping, I might add,” Kenzie questioned.
Wincing, Kaleb turned to his elder sister, asking, “Wait? Did Andrew propose to you that way? Because as far as I can remember
– ”
“This isn’t about me?” Kenzie swayed her finger in front of Kaleb. “Nope! This is about you – learning from all of us... Because
you know how each one of our husbands asked our hands in marriage. It is your ultimate job to top them all!”
The ladies kept hinting to Kaleb about how to offer marriage. Kate even suggested a flash mob, and that utterly made Kaleb
choke on his own spew. He pushed both his arms forward and spread them sideways, forcing the ladies to step aside, giving him
some air. He claimed,“ How and when I will formally propose to my girlfriend is my business.”
“I understand that you like her – ”
“Oh, we love her!” Samantha claimed. “And Liam loves her.”
Kaleb proudly nodded. He resumed, “And I know you want Scarlett to marry into the family -”
“ASAP! I mean, why take so long? You are the only one who is unmarried! You are getting old,” Kate recommended before she
chuckled.
“Excuse me. You forget, we have the same age. I am still thirty-two.” Kaleb groaned. He fixed his gaze on the blushing Scarlett
and winked at her. He laughed and said, “Sisters! Mother! Hold your horses!”
“Scarlett and I have agreed that she can consider the ring as a gift. I still plan to formally propose to her, but I will do it my way.”
Raising a finger up in the air, he insisted, “I can assure you, though... I will beat all your husbands with how I will propose. Mark
my word!”
“You can be proud that I have learned from your husbands and that of dad’s ways,” Kaleb swore. He smirked, watching as
Scarlett’s face turned a shade darker. He was very amused at how his kitten was taking everything in, especially at how she was
not objecting to the idea of getting officially engaged with him.
“Oh!” Gaby reacted, her eyes widening. “We are... counting on that.”
“Absolutely!” Kate claimed.
“We are all going to be there when you propose!” Kenzie suggested. She squinted at Kaleb and reminded, “So you better give
me at least one week’s notice!”

Meanwhile, Scarlett was so amazed. It would seem to her like, on the day of Kaleb’s formal proposal, she was going to get quite
an audience.
Finally, the ladies of the Wrights settled down in their seats. Scarlett had a chance to return to Liam’s side, but very quickly, she
was forced to come back, following an announcement from the event’s host. Dinner was about to start, and she would finally
meet everyone in Kaleb’s family. The crowd that was earlier spread across the venue began retiring to their designated seats.
They settled on a round table, accommodating ten people. It was just enough for all the siblings of the Wrights, including their
better halves. Of course, Kaleb’s parents were expected to join them.
“Scarlett,” Kaleb’s older brother, Kyle, greeted and took the seat next to his wife, Gaby. “Nice to see you again.”
Scarlett nodded, and she smiled. “Good evening, Kyle. I’m happy to be here.”
Another man walked behind Kyle. He was tall and had equally striking features. When he spoke, Scarlett’s lips formed a big 0.
‘An English and dang, the accent is magnificent!’
“Andrew Kentworthy. Kenzie’s husband,” He extended his hand to Scarlett, saying, “It’s a pleasure to finally meet you.”
“Hi!” Scarlett responded with a big smile. She glanced at Kenzie, who bowed to her as confirmation. Only then did she say back
to Andrew, “Nice to meet you too, Andrew. Scarlett.”
Shortly then after, Scarlett returned her attention to Kaleb. She remarked, “Your sisters are amazing, beautiful, and have really
pleasant personalities. Kenzie’s husband sure stands out, too. What does he do?”
“Hmmm. He runs an entertainment company in London,” Kaleb revealed, and while he was proud of his brother-in-law, he was
starting to feel jealous at how his kitten was admiring other men
“So where is your girlfriend, Kaleb? I’m excited to meet her.” Scarlett heard another man’s voice. She casually turned to find the
source and when she did, her jaws dropped and her eyeballs threatened to pop out of her eyes.
Scarlett screamed, “Oh, my god! It’s The Devil!” 1
Everyone at the table burst out laughing. Kate was especially at it so hard, that she cried as she crunched against her big belly.
She commented, “That is a genuine reaction. I’m really liking Scarlett.”
The man whom Scarlett had identified as ‘The Devil’, chuckled with the group. He said to Scarlett, “That I am, indeed. Carlos
Ronaldo, AKA, ‘The Devil’ in court. And you must be Scarlett.”
When Scarlett just froze in her seat. Kaleb put an arm around her, saying, “Kitten, this is my other brother-in-law, Kate’s
husband.”
“Wow!” Scarlett exclaimed. She turned to Kate with beaming eyes and praised, “You married a tennis superstar! That is just
amazing!”
Her head snapped back to Carlos and asked, “Can I have a picture with you?”
“Of course, anything for my future sister-in-law,” Carlos replied.
After getting her photo with Carlos, Scarlett sat back with Kaleb. Her heart was full of excitement after meeting a famous tennis

player.
As she scanned the photos of her and Carlos, Kaleb leaned closer to her. With narrowing eyes, he hinted, “Do you... want to get
my picture too? You know... your boyfriend is Kaleb Wright, the last single heir of Ethan and Samantha Wright, the Vice
President of a Multi-Billion Dollar company -”
An audible laugh echoed throughout the space, and it came from Gaby. She said to Kaleb, “ Jealous much? You really are
whipped.”
“Hey!” Kaleb complained. His jaws clenched before adding, “Don’t single me out!”
Turning to Gaby, he reminded, “Don’t forget, Kyle here is also whipped!” Kaleb raised a brow at his brothers-in-law and claimed,
“In fact, Andrew and Carlos are also whipped men!”
“Yeah,” Kate admitted. “Let’s not forget how Andrew took a lie detector test to get dad’s approval.”
The laughter at their table kept building. Kenzie was notably tickled at how her husband was put to the test. Breaking the giggles
though, Scarlett asked, “Do. I. Have to. Take a. Lie detector test?”
At that point, the Wright ladies were crushing against their stomachs, so entertained by
Scarlett’s reaction. Kenzie eventually clarified, “No, Scarlett. You don’t. The case with my husband was different.”
“Yes, exactly my point. The fact that Andrew went through torture to be with you, he is equally whipped. So stop pointing me out,”
Kaleb said, hissing at the end of his words.
Just then, a thundering voice came through. A man with a commanding stance, despite already in his senior years, he looked
like a Greek god. Kaleb’s father, Ethan Wright, silenced everyone with his presence. He tug on his sleeve before asking, “What’s
wrong... with... being whipped? Do you question the ways of how you came into this world?”
If anything, they all knew, Ethan Wright was the most whipped of all. Samantha raised a glass and claimed, “I love my whipped
men. Haha! God, I love you all.”
