I Fell For The Boy His Daddy Was A Bonus

Chapter 35: Worthy Future Misses Wright

“You!” Samantha was so amused, her eyes watered. Referring to Scarlett, she declared, “You are really different! Good different.”
Samantha rose from her seat. She walked across the table and stood next to Scarlett. She proclaimed, “Congratulations! You
pass the test! And when I set an eye on a daughter-in-law, I never change my mind.”
She extended her hand to Scarlett and concluded, “There is no backing out for you, either. I conclude you are a worthy future
Misses Wright.”
Poor Scarlett was too stunned at what was happening, her mouth was hanging open. Still, she took Samantha’s hand and shook
it. The next thing Scarlett felt was Samantha’s warm embrace. It instantly made her feel that ease that she caressed Samantha’s
back in response.
Kaleb’s mother savored in their hold, taking deep breaths. She narrated, “When Liam told me he found his future mommy and
that he loved you, I was so excited to meet you. You see, my grandson is very picky... Thanks to... Nicole. That woman sure left
a scar on my grandson.”
Taking a deep breath, she described, “You don’t know how long I have been hoping my son would find someone better.”
Samantha pulled away. She sat next to Scarlett and confided, “I have nothing against actresses and models. My other daughter-
in-law is an actress, and she is just wonderful – a good wife, and mother.”
“But with Kaleb, you could say, he dated really controversial women in the past. Lian’s mother? Let’s not even go there should I
see her again, I will put my hands around her neck! God help me That woman tried to trap my son with ”
Realization hit Samantha, and she swallowed her initial thoughts down her throat. She paused for a moment and then resumed,
“Still, we had Liam. I guess you could say he was the rainbow after the rain – no, scratch that. Liam was the rainbow after the
hurricane storm, one that I also considered a major earthquake in our lives!”
Scarlett’s eyes widened. She speculated, ‘Was Liam’s mother really that bad? Now I am even more curious
Returning her attention to Kaleb’s mother, she heard Samantha say, “When Kaleb became a father to Liam, he evolved as a
person. His preferences change and his outlook on life changed. I think the changes were good for him.”
“It took Liam for Kaleb to realize what was good for him and now he found you.” Samantha was smiling as she gripped Scarlett’s
hand tighter. She suggested, “I think you are someone who can reinforce this newfound fulfillment in Kaleb’s life.”
Scarlett watched as lears rolled down Samantha’s face. She listened as Kaleb’s mother supplemented, “Not only that, you are
someone who could possibly accept Liam, too.”
“Possibly?’ Scarlett caught the word, and she countered, “But I love Liam. He is such a sweet boy”
“I know.” Samantha sniffed before making out a smile she caressed Scarlett’s face and said,” Dear, there is more to Liam that
you don’t know yet, but I’m not worried. After meeting you, I
feel comforted because I think you earnestly want to be Liam’s mother.”
With a bigger grin, Samantha teased, “If you want to know more, though, you’d have to marry into the family! I can’t wait!”

The next few seconds felt like a blur to Scarlett. Her mind kept drifting back to Samantha’s words. ‘What is it that I need to know
about Liam?’
It was exactly what Kaleb said to her before. If she wanted to know more about Liam’s mother, she needed to marry him.
Whether it was enough reason to marry Kaleb, Scarlett was uncertain. All she was sure of at the moment was the fact that she
cared and love Liam and she was willing to go all the way for the young boy.
While having mixed emotions, Scarlett was still over the moon that Kaleb’s mother accepted her. Given what she had heard
about Nicole, Scarlett recognized how Samantha really loved Liam to put her through the test. Thus, she did not mind at all.
“Oh, and about the ballroom dance party, it happens next weekend. I just sort of tweaked the truth.” Samantha confessed, “You
don’t need to skip Liam’s recital. Be there, okay?”
“Did we miss anything?” Kaleb asked. He was standing in front of the table with Liam next to him. He asked Samantha, “Did you
scare my future wife, mother?”
“Of course not. Well, just a little, but I made up for it.” Returning her attention to Scarlett, Samantha confirmed, “Right, Scarlett?
We bonded quickly after that.”
She put an arm around Scarlett and hugged her on the side, saying to Kaleb, “I love her already. Good eye this time. I’m proud of
you, son.”
“Mmmm.” Kaleb guided Liam back to his seat. He winked at Scarlett and announced, “I love her too, mom.”

Returning to the penthouse, Kaleb was still on the phone with his mother. He had earlier asked Boris to take Samantha home. As
they entered the door, he called Samantha to make sure she was on the way.
“Very well, mom. Yes, I’ll bring Scarlett this weekend, and yes, we will practice the dance. Take your rest. I love you. Bye,” Kaleb
said. He smiled as he shook his head, his other hand shutting the door behind him.
“I want to play!” Liam declared. “Go head to your room, Liam. I’ll be with you. I just need to talk to your dad,” Scarlett said. When
Liam rushed to the bedroom hallways, Scarlett turned to Kaleb and said, “I don’t want to go to the... dance party.”
“To the ballroom dance party?” Kaleb clarified. “Why?”
“Yes. I don’t think I can handle it,” Scarlett carefully said, her lips pursing at the end. “Why? What did mom do?” Kaleb sought, his
brows meeting at that point.
“Nothing! Nothing! She sort of tested my loyalty to Liam, but I passed with flying colors. Thank goodness, I had a little inkling that
was it,” Scarlett replied, “Other than that initial awkwardness, your mother was really nice and I like her.”
“Then, why?” Kaleb asked. “It’s my parent’s anniversary party, kitten. You need to be there.” Scarlett groaned and inquired, “Will I
have to dance at the party?” “Yes, because everyone in the family will dance and you will be my dance partner,” Kaleb informed.
“Why? You look scared.”

Hearing that, Scarlett’s face paled. She responded, “I can’t. I just can’t.” “What do you mean, you can’t?” Kaleb inquired. “Kaleb! I
can’t dance! I have two left feet!” She finally let it out, her chest heaving after the words rolled off her tongue.
Dead air fell upon them. Kaleb gasped, and then he smirked.
It took a second for Kaleb to move closer to Scarlett, his eyes narrowing. He hissed and suggested, “I think that is hot.”
“What? How is that hot?” Scarlett objected.
“You know, kitten. I have this strange fetish for left feet. The more the better! You can have ten left feet and I would not care!” He
countered.
(
Scarlett, “...”
“Whether you like it or not, you are going to the dance with me and Liam.” He put his hand on her hips. He inched closer to her
and whispered, “I’ll teach you how to move your body... how to grind your hips, how to move it up and down.”
In a sensual tone, he included, “The best dance practice is to be on top.” “Pervert!”
