Chapter Hologram Recording Transcript: September 26, 2096
To clean is to care; that thought echoed in my mind. I told that to Nami too. She said, “Good, you can think. There is something in that head of yours. Now come.” She hobbled inside her cave of trinkets and said, “I have something to tell you.” She picked up a big thick book with the name “King” and waved it around as if thinking of what to say. Then she shoved it into my hands.
“Our world has changed since he was alive. It was not by chance that you made your way here, little King. It was by a higher power’s choice. Remember, true strength is of the mind, and we are here to cultivate your mind. As you learn about this first mighty warrior named King, remember not just his name, but take in his fighting spirit and know what he was fighting for. You, little King, will have to fight for the people one day. Keep this in your memory, and you will not fail.” She pointed a long, determined finger at my heart, and I felt it pound hard. She gave me her holo-rec held in her other hand hidden behind her back. I was automatically awestricken and blurted out, “To always remember the dream!”
“Nami looked at me with surprise and asked, “What did you say?”
“I don’t know, something I read?” I was confused because I didn’t know where it came from.
On my way back, while I was entranced with my new toy, I didn’t know I was being followed until I saw a rock hit a tree right next to my head. I ducked behind some bushes and waited for the little turd.
“I don’t like your hair...it’s purple. You walk funny and you clumsy! We work you if you be Shambhala Warrior,” I heard Zi-Yen say.
Curious, I came out from hiding and asked, “Shambhala Warrior? Who is that?”
“Shambhala Warrior is a special, careful guardian trained by me with Tibetan power. I train you to be my second-in-charge.”
“Who else is a Shambhala Warrior?” I asked.
“So far, only me. You too.” He was earnest with his wild imagination. “More will join, you’ll see. Now follow me!” Zi-Yen took off running into the forest surrounding the village, but I just stood there not wanting to follow. So, I turned around and walked in the opposite direction. I wasn’t going to let some little turd boss me around, especially if he was throwing rocks at my head. I wanted to figure out how to use this holo-rec to record my memories. So here I am! Pretty cool, huh?
