Historical Holograms From A Runaway Punk

Chapter Hologram Recording Transcript: September 19, 2096

I remember walking through concrete devastation and crumbling buildings. My mother showed me this place when I was younger. I was getting exhausted thinking about her. I wanted to find her because I knew she was out there. Then it started to rain, so I climbed into some buildings and found a dry spot. I could tell this place was destroyed by years of raids and local battles.

I was startled awake by a neon green light scanning my face; it was coming from a tiny and shiny bot in the shape of a ball hovering in front of me. I immediately shielded myself just in case it tried to attack. I heard rumors that the area outside the walls might be littered with battle bots. But it said, “Follow me,” and quickly darted out a side pathway. I noticed it was morning as light shined through the cracks of the building and the sounds of birds chirping with more sunlight piercing through the tops of the trees outside. It was a strange and mysterious place covered in wild vines and overpowering shrubbery. I followed the tiny bot to a large rectangular tomb of some sort, also covered in wild vines that seemed to ensure no one would ever find it. I cleared some of the vines away from the ruined walls and noticed an inscription. Not knowing what it said, I traced it with my fingers. I watched the white bot disappear into the top of the tomb, and as soon as it did, another laser beam shot out from a tiny peephole right above the inscription, scanning me from head to toe. Every little blue blood vessel and red vein lit up throughout my entire body.

A hologram appeared right before my eyes; it was my DNA. As if some type of computer was quickly putting a puzzle together, I watched my DNA code get matched with another, giving some sort of green light as if to say it was approved. As soon as the hologram disappeared, another ball bot made of solid glass with carvings popped out of the top of the tomb and right into my hands.

I am unsure how long I stayed in that strange place, trying to figure out what it was all for. Thoughts of finding my mother flooded into my mind again, and I was getting hungry. So, I left that desecrated ruin and made my way out with the glass bot in my hands.
