His Ex-wife’s Comeback ( Nancy and Liam )

Chapter 15

Chapter 15 Unfinished Business

Stepping out of the apartment, Liam felt the cool air, which helped ease some of the heat

in his heart.

Finn approached him and opened the car door, respectfully waiting by the side. Liam paused and asked, “Have you found any trace of Nancy?”

“Not yet…”

Liam scolded coldly, “Incompetent!”

Finn lowered his head, experiencing a moment of unprecedented defeat in his life.

He knew that the boss detested excuses the most, but he still explained with a brave face, “It seems that someone deliberately erased Madam’s whereabouts, making it difficult for us to find her. The hacker I hired is not as skilled as them.”

Liam’s eyes narrowed. Who could be concealing Nancy’s location?

Who exactly was Nancy?

After getting into the car, Finn presented the information he had obtained from the hospital to Liam. “I have investigated at the hospital, and there are two suspicious things.”

Liam reviewed the information and asked, “Tell me.”

“The first thing is that Madam’s name was not on the list of nurses at the municipal hospital three years ago. However, when you and Madam got married, I also investigated her, and her name was indeed on the list of nurses.”

He produced the preserved list from the hospital, and the list he had checked himself. Liam examined them and noticed that “Nancy” appeared abruptly on one of the documents.

Liam pondered for a moment and asked, “Was she a temporary staff member?”

Finn replied, “It’s possible that she was brought in temporarily to fill the numbers. I have been asking the nurses on the original list these past few days, and they don’t have much recollection of her. They only remember that she had some stroke of luck back then.”

Liam looked up, puzzled. “What stroke of luck?”

Finn cleared his throat and said, “Marrying you.”

Liam’s expression froze for a moment, and then his eyebrows furrowed. “Enough

nonsense. Continue.”

“Yes. The second thing is, I suddenly discovered that the doctor who performed the surgery on your back then was not from the municipal hospital but someone who had returned from abroad, named Grace.”

Liam’s pupils contracted slightly. He had sustained severe injuries back then and almost lost his life. It was thanks to the doctor who performed the surgery that he made a miraculous recovery,

“Where is this Dr. Grace now?”

“It’s strange, but after Dr. Grace returned from abroad to the municipal hospital and performed the surgery on you, she went back again, as if she had made a special trip just for you.”

Liam speculated that perhaps his grandfather had specifically hired the renowned doctor from abroad to save him. He looked at Finn and asked, “Is there any connection between these two things you mentioned?”

Finn thought for a moment and said, “Apparently not.”

Liam slammed the documents directly onto his face, and Finn reached out to catch them, his mouth twitching awkwardly.

What an incompetent assistant! He couldn’t rely on him at all.

Liam felt a surge of anger in his heart. He took out his phone and dialed a number. It was quickly answered, but he could hear the person on the other end gasping for breath. His heart sank. “What’s wrong with you? Are you hurt?”

“No, I just tried to make a move on a girl, and it backfired. She threw me over her shoulder and slapped me.”

Liam responded to his flirtatious friend by saying, “You deserved it.”

Vincent Miller seemed to be in a good mood despite getting beaten up. His voice was playful and audacious: “The girl in the southern city is beautiful and cool. I like her.”

Liam’s focus was not on the girl. He asked calmly, “What are you doing in the southern city?”

“My father is interested in starting an equestrian club and he wants to acquire a piece of land in the northern suburbs of the southern city. He asked me to check it out. Vincent took a sip of his drink and asked, “So, what do you think? Would you be interested in joining me in the equestrian club business?”

Liam replied, “Sure,”

“Oh, you’re very enthusiastic. It seems like you want something from me, What is it? Tell

me.”

Liam looked into the night, his voice becoming heavy. “I want you to help me find

someone.”

“Find someone? That’s easy. Who is it?”

“My ex–wife.”

Vincent sprayed out a mouthful of wine and coughed lightly. “You want me to find your ex–wife? Liam, are you serious?”

Liam remained silent, his thin lips tightly pursed.

“Alright. Send me a photo.”

“I don’t have one.” Liam said calmly, “She doesn’t like having her picture taken.”

“There are women who don’t like having their picture taken. Then your wife must be really unattractive.”

Liam frowned and blurted out, “Your wife is the unattractive one!”

Finn sat in the passenger seat, listening to the noisy argument behind him, speechless as he looked out the window.

“Oh, even though you’re divorced, you still defend your ex–wife. It seems like you still have feelings for her,” Vincent fearlessly teased on the other end of the phone

Liam’s face darkened. “Enough nonsense; will you help or not?”

I’ll help. How can I not help an old comrade in need? Send me the basic information, and I’ll start investigating right away.”

Liam hung up the phone and immediately sent the information to Vincent’s email.

Vincent received the information and replied with an OK He downed glass of wine rubbed his sore arm, and headed towards the elevator. He had rented the presidend suite at the Ocean Clubs Hotel in Southern City for half a month.

Pressing the floor button, just as the elevator dogs were about to close, a hand sopped them. The doors slowly opened, revealing two bradyguards leading a man and women

Vincent’s eyes lit up. Wasn’t this the woman who had been him cartier

The fierce woman was now tipsy, wearing a black suit over her red dress. The man hadt dragged her towards the elevator, saying. “You’re so drunk. Stay with me tonight and don’t cause any trouble.”

Nancy’s face turned red, and she mumbled that she hadn’t had much to drink. Suddenly, she looked up and saw the tall figure standing in the elevator. Pointing her finger, she exclaimed. “You pervert!”

Nancy straightened her suit and looked at him warily. “What do you want from me? Let me tell you, even though I’m beautiful. I’m not easily intimidated! I’m not just an ordinary beauty!”

Vincent couldn’t help but laugh at her drunken and silly appearance. This woman was quite amusing.

Gary struggled to bring Nancy into the elevator. If she wasn’t his friend, he would have abandoned her long ago.

Nancy staggered into the elevator, but her high heels couldn’t keep her steady, and she almost fell. Vincoached out to support her and said, “Be careful!”

Maybe it was because of this stumble that her stomach also churned, and Nancy couldn’t hold it anymore. She grabbed Vincent’s arm and vomited, “Ugh.

Vincent stiffened all over. Why did he get close to a drunkard???
