Chapter 19: Reunion
Kasey
“T-this can’t be.” My mom stuttered as she kept her hands over her mouth in shock.
“But. How?” My dad asked. He took a step forward, but then froze and shook his head with a frown. “This isn’t real. This has to be a dream.”
“It’s not a dream daddy!” Sammy yelled as she and Timmy both rushed me.
I let out a yelp as I fell to the floor with both of the twins holding onto me for dear life.
“Kasey!” Timmy cried.
“Hey, brats.” I chuckled as I felt myself crying a little. I pulled the twins closer and they both stuck their faces in my neck. I slowly got up and set them both down just in time for my mom to run forward and pull me into her famous bear hug.
“My baby.” My mom sobbed as she kept her death grip on me.
“Hi, mom.” I whispered into her neck. Right as she heard my voice, another sob escaped her mouth and I felt her tears drip onto my shoulder.
My mom released me as I heard my dad’s footsteps. He carefully approached me and stopped.
I gave him a smile and opened my arms.
My dad quickly grabbed me and pulled me into him and he started to cry.
“I can’t believe this is real.” My dad hiccuped from crying so much. “H-how?”
I gave him a small laugh as I wiped my eyes. “I have some explaining to do.”
My mom laughed as she too wiped her tears away. “Yes, you do baby.”
Everyone followed me into the kitchen and the twins pulled up some chairs and sat down.
“I knew you weren’t dead.” Sammy smiled as she stared up at me.
I sighed and shook my head with a smile. “Actually Sammy, I am dead.”
Timmy tilted his head in confusion. “But you are standing right in front of us.”
“That I am. But, I’m an angel. We all are.” I mentioned to Max and Kenword.
“I punched an angel.” My dad said with wide eyes as he quickly looked up. “I am so sorry God. I didn’t mean to do that.”
Max laughed. “It’s okay Mr. Walker.”
“Please explain.” My mom mumbled softly.
“That night where I died, I woke up in a bed. I was staring at a white ceiling. When I sat up,” I pointed to Max, “he was staring at me, asking me if I was alright. I was very confused. Later on, everything got explained to me.”
“Your daughter is a hero.” Max smiled as he stepped forward. “That night where your children were struck by the drunk driver, she saved Sammy and Timmy. If Kasey didn’t do what she did, they wouldn’t have survived.”
“But that doesn’t explain how she became an angel.” My dad stated.
“What your daughter did, was heroic. She became an angel of the Lord because she saved Sammy and Timmy. She didn’t hesitate when she put her life in danger to save her siblings. God saw what she did and He was proud. He knew all along that Kasey was special, and that night proved it even more. He had a plan for your daughter and turning her into an angel was the right thing to do.” Max smiled as he looked down at me. “She has saved so many lives since she became an angel.”
“Oh, my baby!” My mom cried as she held onto dad’s arm. My dad smiled and pulled her close.
“We’ve always known Kasey was special.” My dad whispered as he teared up a bit. “We never doubted that one bit.”
“I don’t remember much of the crash.” Sammy spoke up as she looked at Timmy who nodded. “But I do know that you saved us. And I thank you every day.”
I smiled as I put my hand on Sammy’s shoulder. “I know. I can hear your prayers every night.”
“Could you hear mine?” Timmy asked with a wide smile.
I chuckled as I nodded. “Yes, I can.”
“You’ve been an angel all this time?” My dad asked.
I nodded. “Ever since the night that I died. I was training for about three years. Learning combat, how to fly, how to use my armor and weapons.”
“You can fly?” Sammy asked.
“No way!” Timmy shouted.
I laughed as I quickly changed into my angel form and stretched out my wings.
“Your hair is different.” Timmy stated.
“This is my true form now.” I explained. “My human form is just a cover for when I come to earth.”
I looked up and my parents were looking at me in shock.
“Y-you look beautiful Kasey.” My mom smiled as some more tears leaked from her eyes.
“I’m so proud of you honey.” My dad said softly. “So proud of you.”
“Thank you guys.” I whispered as I brought my wings back in.
“As much as I hate having to ruin this moment, we need to get back on track.” Max sighed.
“What do you mean, ‘back on track’?” My dad asked.
I sighed. “Haley.”
“Y-you know?” My dad asked.
I nodded. “Demons are kidnapping humans. We don’t know what for, but we do know it’s happening.”
“Demons?” My mom asked shocked. “They’re real?”
Kenword nodded once. “So is Lucifer. Humans refer to him as Satan.”
“Sammy and Timmy.” My mom called out. “Will you two please go upstairs.”
They both nodded and got off the chairs.
“Come on guys.” Kenword smiled. “I’ll go up with you.”
“Can we see your wings?” Sammy and Timmy asked simultaneously.
“Of course.” Kenword laughed as he walked with them up the stairs.
Once the twins were out of range, my mom spoke up again. “Demons kidnapped Haley?”
I nodded. “Lucifer is planning a war. He is kidnapping humans all over the globe. We don’t know what he is doing with them, so it has to be something big. But we do know that he is planning on trying to take over the world. He is going to kill anyone who tries to get in his way.”
“What can we do?” My mom asked worriedly.
Max sighed. “I’m afraid you can’t do anything. You just have to pray and don’t give up.”
My dad pulled my mom closer to him and she sighed as she rested her head on his shoulder.
“I’m just glad that we have you back Kasey.” My dad smiled as my mom nodded.
I smiled backed. “I’m not going anywhere.”
