Chapter 6: Avery/Audrie
Avery weaved in and out of the branches of her willow tree. She loved doing this. She dodged the branches as she flew.
That's when she saw Kat nearby.
She almost fell to the ground when her wings stopped in shock. In her human form, Kat had not had her shoulder wound. But as a creature, Avery could see the wounds on her shoulder and right wing.
She wanted to help- she knew how. But, could she trust Kat? Or would Kat attack her?
Avery didn't know. Kat was holding her shoulder, it wasn't bleeding but it was probably painful. Her wing wounds were both at the base of her wings, probably weakening it enough for Kat to be unable to fly.
Avery wished she could help but instead, she landed and crawled underneath her willow tree. Beneath the cover of the leaves she could be unseen. The branches hung down, leaving their leaves only inches from the ground. It had hidden her well so far, even though she'd had some close calls. She crawled beneath the roots of the tree. She wrapped her wings around herself and it took a long time for her to fall asleep.

Audrie looked at her wing, still holding her shoulder. Her shoulder had hurt a lot all day. Audrie saw the base of her wing. It wasn't bad but it was bad enough to make her unable to fly.
Which sucked.
Audrie carefully got up, hoping she wouldn't be seen. She was in bad enough condition already and didn't need to be hurt more. She walked around the willow tree. Knowing Avery lived there, she didn't want to scare her. Even if she couldn't trust her. Avery was definitely not someone who liked her. She'd completly ignored Audrie while she'd been outside of her willow tree.
Audrie watched the sun set. She couldn't go back to her redwood trunk. Obviously, since she'd been found there. However, she had to go and at least get her things.
That she BOUGHT. Like a NORMAL PERSON.
Except she wasn't a person...
STILL.
Audrie walked to the area around her redwood trunk. She hid in the bushes near the trunk. There was surprisingly no one there. Hopefully.
She didn't see anyone at least.
So didn't that mean there was no one?
She crept inside and grabbed her stuff. Everything was in a plactic bag so it was easy to grab it all. She then walked out, her wings folded tightly around her. She walked slowly through the bushes. She tried hard to blend in with the darkness.
It obviously didn't work since she felt a large pain in her head and felt herself fall down before she fainted.
