Hidden In Brutal Devotion: Chapter 23
Cole
It’s been a couple of days since I essentially licked Lucas’s cum out of Tia’s mouth, and the prick is still running from it.
Why the fuck he has to make such a big deal over it is beyond me. So what? It’s not like I licked it from his cock, although, in that moment, if I’m honest with myself, if that’s what I craved, I’d probably be down with that too.
I walk toward his office door and stroll in without knocking.
“You should knock,” he spits without glancing up from his paperwork.
“Why? Don’t you want me to see you tugging your cock?”
This gets his attention. I drop myself down on the swivel chair lazily with my legs apart.
“What do you want, Cole?”
“You,” I reply bluntly.
He rears back in shock, his breath hitches, and his eyes search my face.
“With Tia,” I tack on to help ease his obvious panic and discomfort.
I almost choke sarcastically as his shoulders relax. Would it really be so bad to want me too? “Why’d you freak out?”
Lucas’s eyes narrow, and his lips tighten. He throws his pen on the desk and crosses his arms. “You really need me to answer that?”
I nod firmly. “Yeah. I do, brother.” I raise an eyebrow at him.
His shoulders tighten once again, and I wince at the thought of me putting him under this discomfort, but it’s a conversation we need to have. Lucas has boundaries, when I clearly have none.
He darts his eyes away from mine. “It’s the first time I did that.”
I watch him closely as his cheeks flush at his admittance.
“I wanted to give it to her how I wanted. I didn’t want you to swoop in and take it away,” he spits the words out.
I stare at him, unsure what he means.
His voice rises. “I wanted it on my terms, Cole. Mine.” He stabs his finger at his chest, his face reddening in anger and the vein in his temple pulsating.
Tia’s right, I pushed him too far. Too fast.
I scrub a hand over my head. “I’m sorry.”
This seems to ease him.
“I need the control, Cole. If I don’t have that, I don’t have anything.”
I want to tell him that’s not true, he has us.
But that’s not what he means. Not what he wants to hear. So, I bite the inside of my cheek and stay silent.
