Hidden In Brutal Devotion (The Brutal Duet Book 1) (The Brutal Series)

Chapter Hidden In Brutal Devotion: Rage

The bitch attached to my cock makes grunting noises as if she’s in a damn trough scoffing pellets, not lavishing my cock with love.

My jaw locks in anger, and I grip her hair with my fist and ram into her mouth, so fucking hard my teeth feel like they’re going to shatter.

Her hair feels wrong in my hand; it’s coarse and thick, and the color’s all wrong too. So, I do what I always do when I need a release. I close my eyes and imagine I’m fucking someone else.

She makes scoffing noises that raise the hairs on my neck, setting my body on edge.

“Shut the fuck up and suck.” I grit the words out like a bastard and finally delight in the sound of her choking. At least now she can’t make those god-awful desperate noises that are meant to turn me on.

My office door swings open and bounces off the wall, making my eyes dart over to the fucker who dared to interrupt me without knocking.

Correction, two fuckers.

My cock deflates under the disapproving look on Lucas’s face while Cole looks damn right pissed. Which is odd, considering how much he appreciates a cock sucker.

I push the woman away and painstakingly shove my semi-hard cock into my jeans.

“Come back later,” I snap at her without giving her a second glance. A sliver of guilt runs through me as the fake blonde glares in my direction before she sashays out the door.

How can I feel guilty even now when I fuck someone? It’s like she owns a part of me, and I hate her for it. My hands ball into fists and the bubble of resentment I feel inside threatens to resurface.

“You were meant to be home for dinner,” Cole aims in my direction while he lazily throws himself on the couch. The heat of his glare penetrates into my heart, but I choose to ignore it. Instead, I opt to glare back at him, edging for a fight. Maybe then I’ll feel better.

I narrow my eyes on him. “The last thing I wanted to do was come home and have to play happy fucking families. I’ve been away forever.”

“Slight exaggeration,” Lucas mumbles loud enough for us to hear.

Cole sighs heavily and drags a hand over the top of his cropped head.

“We’ve something to tell you.” The nervousness in his voice cannot be missed. My eyes dart toward Lucas’s, and only now do I take him in. He leans stoically still against the wall farthest away from me, a lurker as usual, but something is off with him tonight, as he stares at the floor, unwilling to make eye contact with me.

What the fuck has been happening while I’ve been gone?

My back straightens when my thoughts immediately go to what I’ve asked of Lucas, my mouth suddenly dry. I open my mouth to speak the words.

“Me and Lucas. We’re . . . errr . . .”

Glancing back at Cole, I realize, once again, I’m riddled with disappointment. Lucas has no news for me.

“We’re . . . erm . . .”

Whatever Cole is struggling with is big because I’ve never seen the idiot so damn nervous and unsure of himself.

“We’re both fucking Tia.” Lucas steps forward, finishing Cole’s sentence for him, and, holy shit, what the fuck did he just say? My mouth drops open. Surely he doesn’t mean . . .?

“We’re both in a relationship with Tia,” he repeats, with more clarity this time.

My eyes widen in shock. Because how the hell do you go from fucking nobody‍—‍ever‍—‍to fucking the same girl as your brother?

My mind races wondering what exactly he means, what exactly he’s trying to say. “Like together?”

“We don’t fuck one another. We fuck her,” Lucas snaps.

I throw myself back in my chair and laugh. It sounds sadistic as fuck, even to my ears. But who the hell would have thought when my brother finally popped his fucking cherry, he did it with the same girl who brought Cole to his knees?

“Must be some good pussy.” I smirk in their direction and don’t miss when their bodies tighten on my words.

“We love her,” Cole clips back at me, his dark tone a warning, one I understand all too well. He doesn’t want me to disrespect her.

I nod in acknowledgment. “Got it.”

Both of them seem to relax at the same time. It would be comical if it wasn’t so insane.

I haven’t missed the glances Lucas shoots Cole’s way; I can see the longing in his eyes, but I also see the fear. I’m not sure my brother will ever be able to own up to the fact that he might love this girl, but he loves my brother like that too.

Maybe this is his way of getting close to Cole. His way of being accepted.

Lucas clears his throat. “She’s waiting.” He glares at me once again, making me roll my eyes.

Jumping to my feet, I tug on my leather jacket.

“Let’s go meet the woman who brought my brothers to their knees.” I slap a hand on each of their shoulders as we walk toward the office door. “You never know, guys, I might just snag her right from under you.”

A tremor passes over Lucas, making me throw my head back on a laugh.

Not a fucking chance in hell.

I hate all women.

All of them.
