Chapter Epilogue
Eliot hurled a fireball at an oncoming corncob and sprinted out of town to draw the goblins away. Wind whipping his hair, Eliot shot another beast in the face. Caked in blood, some of his own, some not, he tried not to burn himself.
Mike rode Pire into the woods after Eliot. He jumped off and landed on a bee, slitting its throat in midair. The number of goblins had dwindled considerably in the wake of their great battle, and the land was much quieter.
Once again, they entered the base of the goblins. The ground now a barren wasteland, as the people were too traumatized to use it. They came to investigate a matter they had overheard while shopping.
“Now, where’s that hole?” Eliot asked, taking a few steps forward as he looked around. Mike’s suggestion that they split up was met with a nod from the mage.
Mike and Pire turned into an alley.‘Why, if this doesn’t look like the place where a mysterious glowing pit would be...’His thoughts were interrupted by Eliot, who had just jumped over a low fence. The enclosure surrounded a huge apiary for the goblins’ bees. The yard was abandoned now, but he spotted a hole in the middle of it. It was shining red, an ominous shade, and Eliot knew this was the place.
Mike rushed over to where Eliot hovered above the pit. As they looked down, they saw what looked like tentacles reaching out and writhing around. A hoarse voice behind startled them. Agatha walked toward the portal.
“Does it go home?” Mike asked her.
“On the contrary,it leads to an entirely different dimension. It is called Inktvis Dimensie, which means Squid Dimension”.
“Squid Dimension?”
“That would explain the tentacles,” Eliot added.
While taking out the trash, Alyssa saw a strange glow from behind the garbage bins. Moving one, she looked down to see a giant pit of writhing tentacles. “Ooh, fuck! Not again!”
The end is only the beginning of a new story, and the three heroes are about to begin. The universe was at their fingertips, would they help it?
