Heroes Without A Plan

Chapter Chapter Thirteen: Save the Day

As the head bounced again, Mike lost Eliot’s grip, if only momentarily. In his attempt to regain it, Eliot quickly slipped off the head. He was falling down at a rapid pace as Mike yelled for Alyssa.

Rising from the pool of blood that surrounded him, the small hero began to follow the sounds of his friends.

Alyssa fumbled with the controls, desperate to correct the life-altering mistake she had just committed. She was filled with so much regret and anxiety that she was unable to think clearly. Eliot slowly sank, and Mike closed his eyes, too distraught to think of a solution.

At the sound of chaos, Pire was in a hurry. He began to flap his wings and leap, in an attempt to get there as quickly as he could.

The girl moved the dragon’s hands, trying to catch him without piercing his belly with the giant talons. But she only slowed his speed as his unconscious body slipped out of the claws.

He kept jumping until he was flying. As he soared through the underground, he could see his friend in the sky.

“ALYSSA! DO SOMETHING!” The warrior rose to his feet. Tears rolled down his face as he pleaded with the girl.

“I’M TRYING!” Alyssa then moved the tail. Slowly but surely, it crept toward the falling hero.

Hearing their cries, Pire quickly launched himself at the wizard with his claws. He flapped his wings as he hovered in the air, carrying Eliot.

The two of them were at a standstill as they stared at the dragon. Pire...Pire was still alive. He flew down quickly, unable to carry such a heavy weight for much longer.
