Chapter 9
Chapter 9
Gabriella’s POV
Matthew took my hand, and we walked out into the garden. It was a beautiful night, the moon shining down on us, the air cool and refreshing.
The flowers and trees were in bloom, and the scent of lavender and jasmine filled the
air.
Somehow being around Matthew made me forget about Lucas and what he had done
to me.
We walked along the paths, talking and laughing. We reached a small pond, and Matthew stopped.
“Do you want to dance?” he asked.
I hesitated, a bit shy. But then I nodded, and he took my hand. We began to waltz, slowly and gracefully.
The stars sparkled above us, and we danced among the flowers.
“It’s so peaceful here,” I said, leaning my head on Matthew’s shoulder. “It’s like we’re in another world.”
“It is,” he agreed.
“But it’s a world I only want to share with you.”
I felt my heart flutter, and I smiled. “I’m glad we’re here together,” I said, my voice soft.
“Me too,” he said,
As we continued to dance, I became increasingly aware of Matthew’s presence.
His hand on my waist, the warmth of his b*dy, the scent of his cologne. Something about him was irresistible, drawing me in like a magnet.
I found myself feeling things I had never felt before, things that were both frightening and exhilarating. So farMatthew has a good friend.
It was as if there were electric currents running between us, connecting us in a way I had never experienced.
The world around us seemed to fade away, and all I could see was him. I felt like I was falling, but instead of being afraid, I felt safe and secure.

As we talked, Matthew had moved closer to me, I could feel his breath on my cheek. My heart was racing and the last time I felt like this was when I was with Lucas.
I didn’t want this moment to end, but I was afraid of what might happen if it continued.
“I think we should stop dancing” I said, my voice barely a whisper.
Matthew pulled me close, meaning he didn’t want to stop dancing.
I could feel the heat of my b*dy, the softness of my skin. And then, just as he was about to k*ss me, there was a loud growl of pain.
The sound had come from the direction of the garden, and it sounded like no animal they had ever heard before. It was low and guttural, full of menace.
Just as we were about to enter the house, a shrill scream pierced the air. Matthew and froze, the sound sending chills down our spines.
The scream had come from somewhere deep within the house, and it sounded like someone was in pain..
“We have to go,” Matthew said, his voice trembling. “Someone might be hurt.” I nodded, my face grim.
Together, we rushed into the house, following the sound of the screams.
We made our way back to the mansion, the silence of the night heavy around us. As we reached the front door, I could feel the tension in the air. Something was wrong and I
could sense it.
“Let’s go inside,” Matthew said, his voice low. “We’ll figure out what’s going on.”
The Beta’s eyes were dark and serious as he spoke. “There has been an attack,” he said. “The rogues are attacking the pack, we need to get everyone to safety.”
I felt a wave of fear wash over mine. After the last rogue attack, I didn’t think it was going to happen today.
“What do we do?” I asked, my voice trembling..
“We must get to the bunkers,” the Beta said.
“Gabriella,” Matthew said, his voice gentle but firm. “I know you want to help, but you can’t. You don’t have the training, and you would just be in danger.”
I felt my frustration building, and I bit my l*p to keep myself from arguing. I knew that Matthew was right, but I hated feeling so helpless.

“I’ll be back soon,” Matthew said, his eyes fixed on me. “I promise.”
“But I can’t let you go out there alone,” I said, my eyes wide. “I want to help.”
“You can’t,” Matthew said, his voice firm. “You don’t have the training. You’ll just be in the way.
I was a strong, capable woman, but there was no denying that Matthew was right. I didn’t have the skills to fight..
“Please be safe,” I said, my voice breaking.
Matthew hesitated, then pulled me into a tight hug.
The mansion was quiet as I made my way up the stairs. I could hear the distant sounds of battle, but they were muf fled and indistinct.
On reaching the top floor, I looked out of the window, taking in the scene below.
It was chaos. The rogues were attacking the pack, their howls and growls filling the air.
And in the midst of it all, I could see Matthew, fighting with all his strength. He was a blur of motion, his claws, and teeth flashing in the moonlight.
I could see that he was outnumbered, and my heart clenched in fear.
I could see that the rogues were encircling the pack, preventing them from escaping.
It was a trap, and the pack was caught right in the middle of it. It broke my heart to see Matthew fighting valiantly, but I knew and hoped that he could hold out for a while longer. The rogues were too many, and they were too strong.
It was in moments like this that I felt helpless, powerless to do anything to help. I knew that there had to be a way to assist, to find a way to warn the pack, to let them know. about the danger they were in. But I didn’t know how.
The mansion was built on a hill, and its windows offered a sweeping view of the surrounding land. From the top floor, I could see for miles, all the way to the borders of the pack territory.
And what I saw made my heart sink.
As my eyes darted from the borders to Matthew, a chilling shriek cut through the air, like a knife through butter. The shrill sound was unmistakable.
It was the cry of a wolf in agony, and I knew what it meant. Matthew had reached the borders, but something had gone horribly wrong.

Chapter 9
There was only one reason that a werewolf would cry out like that, and then the feeling. of a sickening sense of dread.
I was frozen in place, watching as the scene unfolded before me. The pack soldiers were fighting bravely, but it was clear that they were outmatched. Matthew was struggling to fight off the rogues, but he was losing ground.
Then, with a sudden burst of speed, one of the rogues pounced on him. I watched in horror as the rogue bit down, and Matthew howled in agony.
“No!” I screamed, my voice cracking.
All over his b*dy were wounds, his movements became sluggish and immediately. collapsed, his eyes glazed over. The pack soldiers were doing their best to fight off the rogues, but they were losing ground.
