Chapter 1198
Chapter 1198 I'm the Lowlife
One moment ago, Max cockily put down the Vikroms, Logmans, and Joestars.
Now, Max dropped to his knees after Kaze asked a question.
No one saw it coming.
Even Darcy's jaw dropped to the ground.
Something must have happened when Kaze went to Landor residential area as Max appeared terrified of him.
Bernard and the others were taken aback.
The members of Lilyrose Commerce Guild were dumbstruck.
Max was the commissary of Four Ocean Commerce Guild.
He basically ran the South River state with a giant like Four Ocean Commerce Guild backing him up. Yet, he kneeled before Kaze.
"Yuri wanted you to kneel, not me, Mr. Lee!" Dismissing the looks all around, Max shouted at Kaze with a crying face.
He did not expect to see Kaze there.
As a witness to the incident in Landor residential area, Max knew how scary the man was.
Even a highbor like Leigh was not saved from Kaze's rough handling, much less Max.
Kaze sat next to Darcy on the sofa with no intention of getting up. He said indifferently, "I was going to wait and see what Four Ocean Commerce Guild's big plans were.
*But you said nothing useful since you walked through the door. All I heard was your bragging.
*You sure are full of hot air, Mr. Kang."
Frightened, Max quivered and replied, "No, no. I wouldn't brag in front of you, Mr. Lee."
"You wouldn't?"
Kaze scoffed. "Mr. Vikrom, Mr. Joestar, and Mr. Logman are old friends of mine. You called them lowlifes." Bernard, Peter, and Jack had always stood firm by his side.
They never wavered from their stance even when the Vinlands and the Lees expanded their businesses into Lilyrose.
Kaze wanted to stand up for them.
"No, no. I am the lowlife."
Max shifted his knees to turn around and faced Bernard and the others. "I'm sorry, I should've known better. I'm the lowlife!*
The lips of Bernard, Peter, and Jack tremored.
They were thrilled.
Bernard, Peter, and Jack did not say a peep when Max called them lowlifes and tore into their privilege.
Yet, Max ate a humble pie the moment Kaze spoke.
They believed they had pledged their allegiance to the right guy.
Kaze was their lucky star.
"Did you think an apology would cut it?"
Kaze was not going to make things easy for Max.
Max spun around, his knees grazing the floor, and put his face closer to Kaze.
*Feel free to hit me, Mr. Lee. I'm willing to do anything to make you feel better."
Although it was shocking enough that Max kneeled before Kaze in fear, the crowd was still dumbfounded by what just happened.
Max was beyond terrified of Kaze.
Amused, Kaze waved his arm. "I'm tired of hitting today. You can slap yourself."
Smack!
Max slapped himself without another word.
The repeated pounding echoed in the hall.
Ignoring Max, Kaze put down his cup, rose to his feet, and took a few steps forward.
Thump!
Thinking that Kaze would finish him off, Yuri lay low on the ground and pleaded for his life. "I was blind. I was ignorant. Please forgive me, Mr. Lee."
