Goodbye Cheater Hello CEO’s Wife by Payne Walter

Chapter CHAPTER 24

Chapter 24

Scarlett made great efforts to win Zachary from her, but Zachary was not sincerely devoted to her and had been wavering between her and Isabella until now. Only she knew that Zachary’s affection for Isabella was not simply because of the allure of Isabella’s future inheritance.

To get Wonne’s money and cut off Zachary’s retreat, she even risked herself and arranged the scene at the engagement party. She thought she could defeat isabella miserably and tarnish her reputation.

Unexpectedly, Isabella randomly asked a man to marry her at the ceremony, and the man agreed.

At that time, Scarlett secretly hoped that such a handsome man was a cowboy. In that case, Isabella would start a new chapter and experience living in pain. Yet, Scarlett had never expected the man to be the CEO of Rayson International.

She could not believe that handsome and incomparable man was Rayson International’s CEO. She always thought that Rayson International’s CEO must be a middle–aged man in his forties.

She had fantasized more than once that she could attract the CEO of a company like Rayson International or Maguire Group to fall for her. As long as she could be kept by such a rich man, she did not long for their true feelings. She was always willing to sacrifice her youth for money.

“It’s so unfair! I even used the trick of getting pregnant but only managed to capture half of Zachary’s heart. However, Isabella could win over Rayson International’s CEO easily. Why? Why? What on earth made Isabella so special?‘ While thinking dissatisfiedly, Scarlett’s fingernails dug into her flesh.

“She truly hated Isabella’s good luck.

Meanwhile, Isabella, who was hated, stood before Clayton with some papers.

Clayton did not go to the company but worked in the study that day.

He took Isabella to the study with him after the meal. Isabella did not refuse. She wanted to make a list she had thought about and talked

with Clayton afterward

Clayton secretly observed Isabella’s side profile as he examined the document. To him, she looked very cute when she was serious. She held her chin, blinked her big eyes, and wrote quickly on the paper. Then, she stopped writing, scratched her hair, and nibbled at her fingers. After a while, she continued writing, sighed, crossed out, and rewrote.

When she was out of ideas, she rubbed her hair, and her hair became tousled. She pouted and put the pen between her lips and nose, making her look adorable.

Clayton was in a good mood, thinking Isabella often revealed her true nature unintentionally.

In just three days, he had seen many sides of her.

When isabella first met Zaylee, she was docile and polite. Clayton regarded it as how she was in front of others. Meanwhile, her stubbornness, decisiveness, calmness, and sobriety on the day of the engagement party showed her other side.

In addition to her fierce, cunning, and confused demeanor shown before, he thought the adorable look right before him was also part o real self.

*Perhaps she has been used to hiding herself all these years. That should be her way of protecting herself… Thinking of that, Clayton wished to hug her and take good care of her. He secretly decided to provide her with the best protection and heal the harm she had suffered for years

with all his love.

Isabella began packing the paper and pen before her, seemingly having finished writing.

Clayton then withdrew his gaze and focused on the document.

As expected, Isabella moved to his desk and stood for three seconds. Seeing him motionless, she tapped on the table. “Clayton, do you have

time? I have to talk to you,”

Clayton replied without raising his head, “Sit down. Give me ten minutes.”

Isabella sat down quietly and looked at the paper before her instead of Clayton. She nibbled at her finger while reading it.

Clayton could not help asking, “is your finger delicious?”

Isabella was startled and looked at Clayton in astonishment. “N–No. Didn’t you say ten minutes?”

Clayton smiled. “Can’t I finish earlier?”

Isabella was speechless. After being frightened, she took a deep breath.

Clayton, we need to talk,” Isabella said out the opening remarks that she had practiced many times in her mind.

“Okay, Mrs. Murray,” Clayton was cooperative.

Isabella lowered her eyes to avoid Clayton’s gaze and ignored the “Mrs. Murray” he addressed.

“Let’s divorce.” Isabella pressed her fingers on the edge of the table. She had made up her mind. It was too dangerous to get along with him

in such a way, which was beyond her control. She thought it was better to divorce first.

“That’s impossible. We only got married for a day,” Clayton disagreed calmly.

“But it’s a fake marriage,” Isabella reminded him.

“It’s real. City Hall had issued a marriage license.” Clayton remained

calm.

“But we didn’t do it voluntarily,” Isabella reminded him with her eyes widened.

“I volunteered, and so did you. I asked in public if you would marry me, and you said yes! I can show you the video that day.” Clayton’s voice and expression were still calm. He ignored mentioning the occasion or atmosphere at that time but their mutual proposal,

Isabella was speechless. She kindly reminded him again and reasoned carefully, “But it was a special case that day. The decisions made in such a hasty situation shouldn’t be counted. You’ll soon regret it.”

“I don’t and will never regret it,” Clayton stated calmly and firmly.

“Well, I regret it.” Isabella was dejected.

“It’s useless regretting it,” Clayton was calm as ever.

“You’re unreasonablel” Isabella raised her valce.

“Mrs. Murray, anything I said is reasonable. You shall get used to it in the future. Words from husbands are always reasonable.” Clayton looked at Isabella affectionately.

“Clayton, what will it take for you to agree to divorce?” Isabella gritted her teeth and held back her anger.

“I won’t divorce you anyway, Mrs. Murray. I’m very loyal to marriage and very dedicated to love. I won’t get a divorce for any temptation,” Clayton said sincerely, taking the opportunity to confess his love,

“But we’ve made a deal. I’ll pay you for our marriage, and when I get the Inheritance after I’m 25 years old, we’ll divorce. I’ll still pay you. I can write you an IOU. Isabella frowned, thinking, ‘Damn! Why is he so stubborn?”

“Mrs. Murray, rethink about it. I said I would marry you, but I never agreed to divorce you,” Clayton said persuasively.

Isabella was dumbfounded, thinking. “That’s… right. He had never agreed.”

“So… W–What do you I want?” Isabella stammered. She thought, “Did I fall into a trap? Can I escape?‘

“What do I want? Let’s live a good life! We are married. We are now husband and wife,” said Clayton naturally, reminding her of an obvious

fact

Isabella looked at him blankly and tried to resist the urge to hit him.

Clayton took over the papers from Isabella. “Well, you’ve written a lot. Are they the rules set for me? Let me see if it’s unreasonable.”

“Share the rent? No. You’re my wife. Why should you pay the rent if you live in your own house?” Clayton crossed it out with a pen.

“Cook for me? Okay, this is good.” He nodded happily.

“I’ll pay for the food, and you’ll share the expenses by cooking? That’s not how it should be. It’s my duty to pay for household expenses, while It’s your duty to cook for me, the husband.” He crossed it out.

“The utility bills and fuel costs have nothing to do with you. You don’t have to pay for it.” He crossed it out again.

Isabella watched Clayton cross out the lists she had set one by one and tried several times to explain but was stopped. Clayton did not even look at her and kept muttering to himself, crossing out those lists she had set.

The list was made to set a boundary for their financial management. She did not want to owe him. The mansion was luxurious, but it had nothing to do with her. The Ingram residence was also luxurious, but it was just a temporary stay for her. It was the same even with a new mansion. She had to make it clear.

She did not have money to pay for the meal, so she thought she could cook in exchange. Anyway, she knew how to cook. But she was surprised by Clayton’s words.

“Sleep in different rooms? Why? How do we do something intimate if we sleep separately?” Clayton looked up at Isabella with a serious yet confused look.

Isabella blushed instantly, grubbling inwardly Damn! How could he ask such a question?”

Clayton stood up and walked past the table to her. He stared at the paper in his hand but had already approached Isabella.

Isabella was trapped in the chair and unconsciously leaned back, trying to avoid him.

i can’t go into your room at night? Then, where should I sleep if I don’t go into the room?” he asked.

“sleep in your own room! There are many rooms in such a big house. Let’s sleep separately and not disturb each other!” Isabella’s face was red. She turned her head and spoke word for word, clutching the chair tightly.

Clayton chuckled at her ears, making Isabella feel itchy. He gently bit her earlobe. Isabella put her hand on his lips, turned her head aside,

and shouted, “Go away!“.

Clayton licked Isabella’s palm. She was so frightened that she quickly withdrew her hand, but Clayton grabbed it.

“Mrs. Murray, you are already my wife. Why don’t you sleep with me? Why can’t I kiss or touch you? Why do you keep distance from? How can I get close to my dear wife?” With that said, Clayton’s face slowly reached her side profile. Isabella tried hard to escape and instinctively closed her eyes.

Clayton was amused. He lifted her chin and kissed her red lips. Isabella reached to push him, humming in protest.

Clayton let go of her, amusingly watching her red face.

He reached to pick her up

and so

suppressed her struggle with his hands. “Mrs. Murray, we’re married. You must accept the fact. I think you’re not used to it yet. It seems that I have to accompany you to adapt to it so that you can get used to becoming a couple with me as soon as possible. You should get used to the life being spoiled by your husband,”

The talk session Isabella planned eventually became an intimate activity in bed.

Clayton combed her sweaty, long hair with his hands and whispered, “Be good. Let go of your armor. I won’t let you get hurt again in the future.”

Isabella could not even raise her eyelids. She wished to say, “You are hurting me

ne now!”

But she did not have the strength to discuss it with him.

In the moming, Isabella was awakened by Clayton. “Babe, get up.”

Isabella shrank into the quilt.

Clayton called again, “Mrs. Murray, it’s time to get up.”

Isabella shrank again. Her body felt completely broken, with every part aching. Even if doomsday came, she would never get up.

Looking at the bulge in the quilt, Clayton felt funny. “Babe, you are going back to school today. You will be late if you don’t get up.”

Instantly, Isabella sat

  1. up. The quilt was so big that she got out of it with difficulty. Her messy hair had covered her face.
