Chapter 51
Chapter 51 The Humphrey Family Is Not Great
After lunch, Gisselle dragged Samara to a shopping mall.
They entered a shop. Gisselle wanted to pick and choose, so she asked the salesperson to seal the entrance. For a while, a strange female voice came from the door. "Which big shot is inside? Why is the entrance sealed?" Samara was looking down at her phone. When she heard the familiar voice, she couldn't help but raise her eyebrows
and look over.
Sure enough, Alva Brook and Beryl Wood were standing outside. They were Serena's friends.
When Samara was in the Humphrey family, she was ridiculed by those two people.
Today, they met. How could Samara let Alva and Beryl leave so easily?
As soon as they finished speaking, they passed through the top bar and entered.
They were dressed in designer brands, and their bags were from last month's fashion shows. They looked rich and
noble.
On the other hand, Samara was different. She wore simple clothes today. She wore a pair of black jeans, a navy-blue sweater, and a pair of medium-length Dr. Martin boots. Although she was good-looking, other than the branded bag in her hand, everything else on her was plain.
Alva and Beryl walked straight toward Samara as soon as they entered. Alva sized Samara up from head to toe and clicked her tongue lightly. "So, it's Mrs. Humphrey. Ah, I forgot. You and Mr. Humphrey have divorced. I should call you Ms. Novak."
Beryl said, "Any piece of clothing here would cost around 1,000 dollars? A set would cost at least 3,000 dollars. Ms. Novak, can you afford the clothes here?"
Gisselle, who was behind Samara, suddenly became angry. "If you don't know what to say, then shut up. No one will think you're mute! Who can't afford 3,000 dollars? Who are you looking down on?"
Beryl and Alva laughed. "Don't misunderstand. We just care about Ms. Novak. After all, Ms. Novak is nothing after leaving the Humphrey family."
Those words made Samara laugh. "Ms. Brook, you are really funny. What is so great about the Humphrey family?"
Alva sneered, "Ms. Novak, that's some tough talk. If the Humphrey family is not great, why did you try so hard to marry into it?"
Samara also chuckled, "I was stupid back then. I fell into that trap by mistake. Ms. Brook, are you not okay with me getting out of it?" "What's the use of talking so much? Poor!"
Alva said and looked at the nearby salesperson. "What does she like? Wrap them all up for me. I want all of them!"
Gisselle was just about to speak when Samara stopped her. Then, Samara looked at the salesperson, and said, "Wrap up all the things we tried just now."
Alva wanted to disgust Samara. Hearing Samara's words, Alva glared at the salesperson. "Didn't you hear me?"
The salesperson hesitated for a moment. "Ms. Brook, do you really want all of them?"
"Do I look like I can't afford those clothes?"
The salesperson wanted to say something, but noticing Alva seemed to be about to get angry, she had to go to the fitting room and brought out the clothes inside.
Alva looked at the salesperson holding a high pile of clothes, and her face stiffened. Gisselle mimicked, "Ms. Brook, can you afford these clothes?"
Alva's expression changed. "It's just a few pieces of clothes. Who can't afford them? Give me a number!"
Realizing that she was lucky today, the salesperson quickly scanned the codes and counted the price. After adding the price of the dozens of pieces of clothes, the salesperson looked at Alva with a smile. "Ms. Brook, it's a total of 300 thousand dollars. Would you like to use a credit card or...?"
