Chapter 6: They Pay A Visit
Deacon
“I should have followed her.” I sighed as I sat in my chair.
“It’s okay bro.” Gabriel said as he sat down across from me.
“Not it’s not!” I yelled as I stared at him. “I made the worse first impression ever! She hates me. Absolutely hates me! I can never make it up to her.”
“Trust me. We know how that feels.” Zane whispered sadly as he sat down next to Gabriel.
‘We totatlly messed up.’ Blade growled. ‘I hate this.’
‘You and me both.’ I whimpered.
‘Let’s fix this.’ Blade said.
‘How?’ I asked him. ‘She hates us.’
‘Well get off your lazy ass and let’s go apologize. Don’t leave until she hears you out.’
I smiled at the idea and stood up.
“Come on guys.” I said as I ran around my desk and pulled them both to their feet.
“Where are we going?” Gabriel asked.
“Going to go apologize.” I smiled.
I hope this works.
Ace
“Fuck him!” I growled as I punch the punching bag. “This bag is his fucking little face and I’m going to rip it to shreds.”
“Don’t kill it.” Zylen laughed as he pulled me away from the bag.
“I had my entire speech planned out. I knew exactly what I was going to say to him. But nope. Stupid rogues had to ruin it.” I growled as I took a sip from my water bottle.
“Alpha!” April yelled as he ran down.
“What?” I asked looking at her.
“Alpha Deacon and two others are coming towards the border.”
“Why?” I asked.
April shrugged. “I don’t know. But it can’t be good.”
I growled and walked towards her. “Get the fighters ready. I don’t want him stepping foot on my land.”
“Yes alpha.” April bowed and ran out of the gym.
‘If he wants a fight, let’s give him one.’ Ava growled.
“Let’s go girls.” I said.
Zylen and Colby both nodded and followed me out.
Once we touched the grass, we shifted.
‘He’s walking towards the west border alpha.’ Wes, one of the twins, linked me.
‘Thank you.’ I replied back.
‘What are you going to do?’ Colby asked as she looked at me.
‘Tell him to get the fuck off my land.’ I growled as I pushed my wolf harder.
‘There’s the Ace we know.’ Zylen snickered.
I smirked as we came closer to the border, but frowned when I saw Deacon yelling at my patrol.
I came up on them and let out a loud growl.
My pack members flinched and knelt down to me.
“I’m impressed.” Deacon smirked.
I growled and snapped my teeth at him.
His smirk dropped and he looked away.
That’s what I thought.
I walked behind a tree and grabbed the clothes that I had.
Once I walked back out, Deacon looked up at me.
“What the fuck do you want?” I asked.
He went to take a step on my land, but my members growled at him.
“Don’t step on my land.” I threatened.
“I just want to talk.” Deacon snapped.
I let out a humorless laugh. “Talk? You don’t talk to people. You kill people.”
“Excuse me?” Deacon growled.
“You’re excused.” I smiled.
“That’s not what I meant.” Deacon growled.
‘Ooh look at his face! It’s turning red!’ Ava teased.
I had to suppress a giggle at her comment.
“I really do want to talk Ace.” Deacon said softly.
“Really? Because last time I checked, you came here to kill me and take over my pack!” I yelled.
Deacon sighed. “And I’m sorry. I will admit that I wasn’t thinking. My pack is getting bigger and I needed more land.”
“You do know that you aren’t helping this situation at all, right?” I asked. “Just because your pack is growing doesn’t mean you wipe out other packs!”
“I’ve always done that. It was a natural reaction.” Deacon defended.
“How stupid can you fucking be?” I asked. “I’m the alpha of this land. Not you! This is my land, not yours! And it’s going to fucking stay that way you idiot!”
“You don’t have to yell at him.” Gabriel snapped.
“Oh shut your fucking face!” Zylen growled.
Gabriel looked shocked but kept his mouth closed.
Good boy. You don’t want to get Zylen angry.
Deacon closed his eyes and took a deep breath.
Oh good Lord. What, is he going to preach now?
This is seriously starting to get annoying.
“I just want to talk to you Ace.” Deacon begged. “Please.”
“Hmm let me think about it.” I said as I looked up and tapped my chin. “No.”
“Why not?” Deacon asked as he clenched his fists.
Damn. He must not be used to someone saying no to him. Well he better get used to it.
“Because I don’t want to talk to a psychotic killer.” I said in a duh-tone.
“I am not a psychotic killer.”
I laughed at that.
“Are you kidding me?” I chuckled. “Someone who plans to kill a pack because he needs more land, someone who kills everyone that says no to him, someone who kills anyone that is in his way is a psychotic killer. And that is what you are.”
“Well that hurt.” Deacon mumbled.
“Better get used to it bub.” I snapped as I turned around and took a step.
“Ace come back here!” Deacon growled. “We are mates for a reason.”
“You’re joking right?” I chuckled as I turned back around.
Deacon shook his head. “You haven’t noticed?”
“Notice what?” I asked confused.
‘What is this idiot blabbering about?’ Ava asked annoyed.
“Our wolf forms. All six of us actually.” He said as he pointed to me, the girls, and his friends.
“What are you talking about?” Zylen asked.
“I have a white wolf with a silver sun above my left eye and Ace has a silver wolf with a white moon above her left eye. Gabriel has a red wolf with a blonde circle around its left eye and Zylen has a blonde wolf with a red circle around its eye. Zane has a black wolf with a red stripe across the left eye and Colby has a red wolf with a black stripe across the left eye.” Deacon explained. “We are all meant to be.”
I gulped in nervousness. I didn’t realize that.
‘Shit.’ Zylen linked as she looked at me.
‘That is a strong point.’ Colby added.
“That is only a coincidence.” I defended as I turned around.
“No it’s not.” Deacon smiled. “We were paired for a reason.”
Okay. This has to end.
I turned around and faced him. “You know what. This has to end.”
Deacon gulped. “W-what are you saying?”
I closed my eyes and took a deep breath.
‘Ace?’ Zylen and Colby asked.
I opened my eyes again and looked Deacon in the eye. “Us. The only way you’re ever going to understand my pain, is ending this.”
“A-Ace.” Deacon’s voice cracked as he took a step towards me. “No. Please.”
Everyone at the border stood till waiting for my next move.
I stood tall and looked at him. “I, Ace Winter, reject you, Deacon Forkner, as my mate.”
I winced as I felt a pain in my heart but I tried to not let it show.
Deacon’s face held pain and sorrow.
I looked away as he fell to his knees and a tear slipped from his eye.
“A-Ace.” Deacon croaked. “Please. No.”
“I’m sorry Deacon.” My voice quiet.
I shifted into my wolf and ran. Ran away from the scene.
The last thing I heard was Deacon’s pain-filled howl.
