Chapter 521
Chapter 521: Yelena's Phone Call
After listening to Madison's story, Connor realized that she wasn't actually a lesbian; she simply had a strong dislike for men.
As she finished sharing her story with him, she felt a sense of emotional release that had been pent up inside her.
Without saying much, she picked up her bag and walked away.
Connor watched Madison's figure, filled with infinite regret.
Because he truly believed that women like Madison would be a loss for the male population if she were a lesbian.
After she left, he also walked out of the private room.
However, when he stepped out of the room, he noticed that the people who had been waiting to watch the commotion had already left, and Rachel was nowhere to be found.
Inside the restaurant, only Dominic and Spencer remained, having ordered beverages and sitting in the lobby, waiting for Connor.
"Connor, what were you doing with that girl in the private room? Why did it take you so long to come out?" Dominic hurriedly approached Connor, asking with a puzzled tone.
"Nothing much, we just talked about Rachel. She wanted me to leave her!" Connor replied casually.
"What did you say then?" Dominic continued to ask.
"What else could 1 say? At first, I said it was impossible for me to leave Rachel, considering I still have to study at Porthampton University. But later, I had no choice but to admit that Rachel didn't actually like me, she was just lying. Madison believed my words and let me go!" Connor replied indifferently.
"She just let you go that easily?" Dominic exclaimed with a hint of disappointment in his voice.
"What could she do to me? Beat me up in the private room?" Connor said helplessly.
"Then why did 1 hear someone crying in the private room just now?" Dominic blinked and softly asked Connor.
"Uh..." Connor felt a hint of awkwardness in his eyes upon hearing Dominic's words. He quickly explained, "Maybe you misheard?"
"It's not possible. 1 really heard someone crying in there..." Dominic said firmly.
"Alright, you must have misheard. You two have been waiting outside for so long, I'm sure you're both hungry. How about we have a meal here?" Connor didn't want to continue discussing this topic with Dominic, so he suggested having a meal at the western restaurant they were in.
"Have you gone crazy? The expenses at this restaurant are very high. The three of us having a meal here would cost at least two thousand dollars!" Spencer stood up and said to Connor.
"Yeah, we just ordered two glasses of juice earlier, and it already cost us a hundred dollars!" Dominic added.
"It's alright, I'm not short of money. Let's eat here!" Due to the incident with Madison, Connor had no interest in continuing the ordeal. He directly waved to a nearby waiter and softly said, "Waiter, we want to order!"
"Sure!" The waiter smiled and agreed, then brought a menu over to Connor.
Dominic and Spencer didn't try to stop him anymore and found a seat to sit down.
After a while, Connor finished ordering the food and began chatting with them.
However, Connor's mind was filled with the scene that had just happened with Madison in the private room, so he had no mood to chat with Dominic and Spencer. He kept staring at the scenery outside the restaurant.
There weren't many people inside the restaurant, so shortly after he placed the order, the waiter started serving the dishes.
Although Dominic and Spencer came from relatively well-off families, it was their first time dining at such a high-end Western restaurant.
When they saw the exquisite dishes being served one by one, their eyes lit up.
"Come on, you two, start eating. There are still several dishes yet to be served!" Connor smiled and said to the two.
"Connor, why did you order so many dishes? How much is this going to cost?" Spencer furrowed his brow and seemed to feel sorry for Connor.
"It's fine. 1 earned over 20,000 dollars during the summer break. That's enough for us to have a good meal!" Connor replied casually, then picked up his chopsticks and started eating heartily.
Seeing that Connor had already started enjoying the food, Dominic and Spencer naturally followed suit, eating and drinking to their heart's content. "Ring!"
Less than five minutes into their meal, Connor's phone rang.
He paused for a moment upon hearing the ringing, then took out his phone and glanced at it. To his surprise, the caller was Yelena!
Today was the first day of the new semester at Porthampton University, and she must have also gone to the school.
However, he had no idea why she was calling him, and he had a bad feeling that it couldn't be anything good.
So after hesitating for a moment, he chose to hang up.
But just as Connor ended the call, Yelena called again.
He was well aware of her personality. If he kept ignoring the call, she would definitely keep calling. So in the end, he reluctantly answered the phone.
"Hello." Connor answered the call and said softly.
"Connor, what are you doing? Why didn't you answer my call just now!" she sounded displeased upon hearing his voice.
"I'm having dinner with my roommates. Do you need something?" he asked helplessly.
"What could 1 have to talk to you about? Today is the first day of school, and 1 specially rushed back from the set. We haven't seen each other for such a long time. Don't you miss me? Why don't you treat me to a meal as well?" Yelena said
with a smile.
"Stop teasing me, okay? There are so many people at our school who would
want to treat you to a meal. Why did you specifically come looking for me?" He always felt that she had some issues in her mind. He couldn't figure out what she wanted to do, so he believed it was better to keep some distance from her.
"Little Connor, what do you mean by that? Don't you want to meet with me?" she sounded somewhat agitated.
"I don't want to!" Connor replied directly, then hung up the phone.
Although he knew that his actions might seem heartless, he believed it was
better to keep some distance from Yelena.
This woman was just too eccentric. He already had enough women around him, and there was no benefit for him to get too close to her..
