Genesis' Spirit of Goddess

Chapter 26.

Azah POV

After taking a shower, I hear a knock on the door. I couldn’t find an extra bathroom robe so I decided to wear Zion’s. I open the door thinking it's Zachary but instead it’s Sara. Not waiting for me to open the door wider she forces her way in.

“Babe.. we don’t have much time.” She said as she stops in the middle of the large room in awe.

“Wow! Who would’ve thought I would be here today in Alpha Zion’s room. Oop… scratch that Alpha and Luna’s room.”

I hugged her tightly “I missed you!!”

“Girl! Same here!”

Letting go of her “what are you doing here.”

“It’s your birthday and I’m a stylist, what do you think I came here for?”

Rolling my eyes “Guys it’s not that serious. I just came back. I thought it’ll be something small?”

“Azah, sweetheart. Small shouldn’t even be in your vocabulary!”

Of course, Sara isn’t one to do things “small.”

She gasped “OH MY!”

I glance to where she is looking. She is looking at the dress that is lying on the bed.

“Zion has taste. First the house, the interior design of the house, then the rooms…”

“Wait, you were here for a while?”

“Yeah. Zachary told me you were taking a shower so I took the advantage of looking around. Have you been downstairs!”

“Anyways, THIS GOWN IS EVERYTHING! I can see it now. The way I’m going to do your makeup…”

Sara continued mumbling to herself, momentarily forgetting my presence in the room. She started organizing her things. Don’t get me wrong, I love dressing up and everything but It’s nothing compared to Sara. This is her passion, soon to be a career.

“Ok, let’s go to the guest room. I’m not too comfortable staying in this room.”

“Why?”

She shrugged “Um.. just because.”

“How are you though? I haven’t seen nor talked to you in a while.”

She pauses and looks at me with her charming smile. “I’m happy.”

Wow. Sara is always chipper, I don’t think I ever saw her upset. But the way she said it, seems more than just happy.

“Aïssatou, Sophia?”

“Aïssatou has been gone for a while just like you. Training for her witch certification. She’s back for now. Sophia has been pretty busy, with you away she’s been taking some responsibility.”

“Oh damn. I really feel bad.” I've been clinging to Zion that I totally forget about my new role as the packs' Luna.

“Don't stress. Zion’s mom is patient, she knows you had a lot of other responsibilities to sort out first. It’s not easy being a Luna and also a Moons vessel.”

“Enough talking, let’s begin.”

_________

Sara wanted me blindfolded but of course, that wouldn’t work when she’s doing my makeup. Instead, she made me promise that I wouldn’t open my eyes till she said I could.

After finishing up the makeup she starts dressing me up in different pieces of clothing, the gown that was laid on the bed didn’t have this many different clothing to dress up in. I had a slight feeling of what the dress is but knowing how Sara likes things to be different I didn’t bother to guess. I am basically a living mannequin right now.

“Open your eyes.”

Instead of looking straight at the mirror, I glance in her direction. She is wearing the gown that was on the bed. She is gorgeous. Her short strawberry blonde hair is styled in beautiful wavy curls, with soft smokey eyes and rose-red lipstick. The gown is long, red satin mermaid shape and strapless, with a very high split. Those curves of hers are just everything!

“DAMN SARA!”

“AZAH LOOK AT YOURSELF!”

“Right.. sor….” I couldn’t even finish my sentence. I’m lost for words.

Who is this woman? I step closer to the full-length wall mirror. Sara had placed my locs up in a lovely pearl-studded bun. She had used light shades to highlight my high cheekbones while swiping a shade that’s slightly darker than my skin tone onto the hollows of my cheeks. Thus creating perfectly chiselled check ones. Adding smokey sunset eye makeup, enhancing the richness of my hazel eyes.

I place my hands over my mouth in awe of the design of the gown. It’s not a gown, but the traditional Indian Saree. This explains why Sara had me wearing multiple pieces of clothing. A saree is a strip of unstitched cloth that is draped over the body in various styles.

“Oh my god,” I said in awe.

“But how?”

Still looking at the mirror, admiring the blue velvet, with gold embroidery legends choli dupatta that I’m wearing. With many gold bracelets around both of my wrists. Finishing off with a Kundan Matha Patti headpiece. The Kundan matha patties are full of detail and intricacy in its design. The gold headpiece has three closely knitted rows of gold droplets with embedded gems on either side. The edges are finished off in distinctive white pearls. The headpiece made the whole attire look regal.

“All of this for my birthday?”

“Yes. As long as you have me as a friend, birthdays will never be a small celebration. Especially for this specific day.”

Leaving the room, Zachary stood tall and ready. Damn. His dark wavy hair is up in a tight man bun, showing his strong facial features. One small gold hoop earring, wearing an all-black double-breasted suit with gold buttons. Black dress shirt and a black bow tie. Everything black all the way down to his dress shoes.

His bright topaz eyes are encouraging, as he walks forward and whistles. “Wow!”

He takes my hand and places a soft kiss on it. I don’t know why, but I suddenly feel shy around Zachary. The guy is extremely handsome in his suit.

Zachary lets go of my hand and look at his watch “Well let’s get going.”

Stiff and nervous as fuck. Sara pushes me “I did not do all of this for you to suddenly bail. You make a run for it, I’ll hunt you down.”

Pointing her fingers at my face “YOU better not destroy your saree and makeup! Come on!”

I don’t want to see Sara upset. Nor do I want to imagine her ever getting upset, especially on something that she works hard on. With that thought, I rushed outside.

“Dad? Joshua?”

Running to my dad like his little girl. “DAD!”

My dad gave me his bear hug, laughing and screaming “My sweets!”

My dad and Joshua wore a stunning gold blue embroidered traditional Kurtas. My dad had trimmed his usual thick bushy beard. Joshua had grown a few inches from the last time I saw him.

“What happened to school and work?” I ask Joshua.

“Ah come to Az! On your birthday? Fuck school and work!” He said. Usually, he would continue and joke about how ugly I looked. The typical dry jokes. I was ready for them till he did a complete 180 on me “You look beautiful Az.”

My jaw drops, that’s all? In an instant, his attention goes to Sara. Light blue eyes twinkling in admiration, “But You. You look…”

“You look ANGELIC” Joshua pronounces the word angelic slowly with a deep voice. Sara turned tomato red, possibly more red than the colour of her gown. I didn’t miss the part where Joshua is holding Sara’s hand. I look at her, my eyes wide open in shock. She blushes and bends her head down to avoid my eyes.
