Chapter SEBASTIAN - A Kick
WaterRose, Meadow Mountain, Grier Country
SEBASTIAN
“Elsabet?” He called. Just arriving back at WaterRose, Sebastian was frantic to check on her.
To see if she’s alright. If our babe is.
“Yes?” She called from upstairs.
He followed the sound of her voice up to her chamber. Finding her abed. “Are you well?”
“I’m exhausted.” She sighed wistfully.
Drawing near, he saw how much her belly had swollen. Just since I was gone.
“I feel weak.” She swept hair from her forehead so she could better look at him. Blue eyes lovely. “Come.” She waved him over.
Shocking him. Since she’s not been friendly to me since last I refused to release her. He walked over tentatively. Fearful thoughts coursing through his mind.
What’s wrong with her? A glance toward the window revealed it was after noon. The sun was high and bright over fall leaves and yellow grass. She’s never abed this late in the day.
He linked long fingers through her small ones and let her pull him down next to her.
She scooted over and he was swallowed by the warmth of where she’d lain. Feeling that rare heat he only perceived when close to her.
She pressed his large palm over her rounded abdomen.
It’s hard. He was surprised at the firmness of her stomach. It occurred to him he’d never touched a pregnant woman before her.
The rest of her skin is exceptionally soft now.
Her blue eyes were lighter than usual. And cheeks flushed. But her skin seemed to possess a healthy luminescence.
Glowing.
He lightly massaged where she’d put his hand.
“Hmm.” She murmured. Stretching out her neck. “That feels good.”
“Does it?” He asked.
“mmm hmm.”
“I will do it as often as you like.” He was stunned when he felt her stomach suddenly jerk.
He pulled his hand away. Did I hurt her?
“Are you well?” He asked frantically. “I…Felt something.”
She giggled. “Yes…Calisto tells me that’s the feel of the little one’s kick.”
“She’s strong.”
“She?” Elsabet quirked a brow.
He nodded, smiling. Focus riveted on her stomach as his hand tentatively returned there. Feeling the robust thump again, his beaming gaze shot to Elsabet’s face.
She smiled softly. Eyes tired.
She’s exhausted.
“You’re in pain.”
“It’s hard to breathe now.” She confessed.
“Can I help?”
She gave him a long look. But finally gave a single nod.
Swallowing, he leaned up to ease open the ties of her thin chemise. Unlacing it and pulling the folds apart to expose her enlarged breasts and the mound of her belly. Eying the curved swells he was sorely tempted to touch.
What do they feel like? He was curious to know if they’d still feel the same as before or be as intriguingly changed as the rest of her.
She watched him intently. Gaze cautious.
Unsure if she can trust me. He slid a hand under the thin layer into the slitted opening over her belly. Palming the smooth surface.
“Your hand is warm.” She purred. Eyes already blinking sleepily.
“Does it feel good?” He continued the massage filling her with soothing energy. Helping draw out whatever tension lurked in her.
She sighed blissfully and her body relaxed.
“Good, woman.”
You’re going to be an exceptional mother.
And he was unspeakably grateful she’d let him share that rare moment with her. To feel the strength of my daughter’s tiny foot. He felt his chest swell.
