Damien’s POV~

Lynette went to find Dianne…she hadn’t really talked to her much, since she was brought into the pack..and she wants to make sure she’s okay!

I walk through the living room to the kitchen…looking for my mom.. she’s helping Nancy..our head cook..make lemon bars. I asked “Mom…you got a minute?” She nods..grabs a cup of coffee …and sits at the counter. I’m nervous! Trying to not sound like a wuss I say “I don’t want my ascension and Luna ceremony to be traditional. Lynette doesn’t get a prom! Is there any way we can set the ballroom up to resemble a school dance? Maybe take her out to find a prom dress? I want it to be special for her, Mom”

She stood and walked around the counter to hug me like I had invented ice cream and tells me “You have grown into a wonderful man! I am proud of you! And…of course, we can compromise. The ceremony adheres to tradition…and the ballroom…we’ll turn into a themed dance! I must speak to Colette!” and she zooms out of the kitchen…and I look at Nancy saying “She’s excited” and we laugh.

Heading to my office, I link Liam and Blaze to meet up.. I’m googling Lynette’s mark.. trying to figure out the significance..all I’m finding is tattoo flashings and drawings. I look up at Liam..and spin my laptop around..”What do you think of this?” And Liam looks at it a second and shrugs “Umm..it’s pretty?” I roll my eyes “No! You fucking moron! I’m asking because I was wondering if you can think of any symbolism it may represent “ and he says “Oh! Okay. But it IS pretty!” Blaze laughs “Idiot!” I tell them it’s Lynette’s birthmark…but I want to keep it between us until I know more about it.. it’s specific…detailed. Most birthmarks are random and mishapen…and werewolves rarely have any!

Liam tells me he and Blaze will check the library for anything…but I could always ask Colette. I replied “No..Lynette said she just brushes it off whenever she asks. I would love to speak to Dad about it.. but I’m still inclined to keep it between us, until we know more..anyway!”

A knock at the door has me raising an eyebrow…. “Come” and in walks Christine.. Liam looks at Blaze and says “Fuck! I owe Lynette a week of fetching her coffee!” Blaze laughs and asks why? He shakes his head “I was stupid and misjudged the ignorance of Christine!” At that, I laughed..

I said “What do you want, Christine?” I linked my dad and asked if he and Aaron could come to my office. I didn’t want this to get out of hand! Christine starts crying and spewing words I can’t understand..while Blaze is sitting..staring and saying “She’s crying. Why is she crying? Make it stop! My Goddess! It’s going to make my ears bleed! WHY is she making that noise??” And I burst out laughing. I tell her to stop crying…I can’t understand her!

My dad knocks, as he’s opening the door..and Aaron demands “why are you here Christine?” She doesn’t respond right away and he yells Answer Me! She whimpers “I need to talk to Damien..alone” I shook my head “Not happening. So, what do you want?” She looks around at everyone in the room and whispers “it’s personal” and Liam says “Just spit it out! How personal can it be?” And three things happen at once.. she snaps “I’m pregnant..okay..happy?” Her dad slaps her into next week…and I fell out of my chair, laughing!

My father looks pissed! He tells me I had better explain.. I replied “There’s really nothing to explain. I fucked her, yes..about 5 months ago. It wasn’t that good.. and I wore a condom! There’s no way I’m anybody’s dad! If she’s even pregnant!” Aaron snapped at his daughter “Explain yourself now, girl!” She screams “he is supposed to be mine! He IS mine! I am going to be Luna.. I have been reading all the books.. I’m a beta’s daughter and we grew up together. Everything makes sense…why can’t you see that?” And her father says “What I see is a troubled young girl. We are going to the infirmary for a pregnancy test..then you are packing a bag! You’re heading to the academy!” He grabbed her arm and dragged her out the door!

“Lesson learned, son?” my dad laughs. I said “she used to be nice…someone to hang out with. I was drunk the night I had sex with her and I told her it would never happen again.. and it didn’t. But I never dreamed she would take it to this extreme. She knows we aren’t mates. I told her a million times, I wanted my mate. I don’t get it “ Liam asks “What’s to get? She became obsessed! And now, she is going to a military school! Best hope she gets her crazy fixed…or when she comes back..she will not only be crazy..but trained to kick your ass!” And they all laughed! HardeeHarHar motherfucker!

Lynette waltzes in to tell me lunch is ready…and she looks around.. says I smell a skank! So Blaze proceeds to spill everything that happened. She starts laughing “She thought she could pull the pregnancy card? Does no one pay attention in school?? She-wolves only get pregnant one of two ways! Her true mate! Or her chosen mate..but only after they’ve marked each other..and then…it can take a long time..if at all” I had forgotten that…and I realized everyone else had, too!

As Lynette and I headed out for lunch, she spins and screeches “Eeeeeeep! I don’t have to get my own coffee for a month!” And I said “Baby..we gotta work on that scream! It’s painful!” and we all laugh! We’re sitting at the head of the table as Colette and Andre’ come in….shortly followed by Dianne.

Andre’ speaks “I will be leaving today, after lunch. I don’t want Massimo getting suspicious..if he finds me gone. Plus, I want to see if I can glean any other information!” A single tear rolls down Lynette’s face.. as she whispers I’ll miss you! He blows her a kiss and say “I’ll be back..as soon as I have something to report “ I nodded and thanked him “I appreciate everything you’re trying to do for my mate and her mother”

I smile down at my little mate..tucking a stray strand of hair behind her ear, I ask “what are your plans after lunch?” She kisses my cheek and tells me “Dianne and I will be in the study..setting up schooling online. It will be easier to take..having someone to share it with!” And she giggles! I love how open she is with her affection…she’s always touching me in subtle ways..leaving kisses on my face. She’s perfect for me..in every way!

After lunch, I told the guys to meet me in the library…I need to research. As I am walking out, I hear “Liam! I need coffee! In the study, my man!” And I chuckle…he’s going to regret that bet!

Three hours. Three fucking hours! And I haven’t found anything. Blaze has chewed through four pencils and Liam lost a shoe. No..we don’t know how..and we don’t know where. It’s just gone! Blaze says “Okay…you say going to her mom about it is useless..but what about your dad? He may not know anything, either..but he could point us in the right direction, maybe?”

That’s actually a good idea! I like it! 🐺 Dad? 🐺’Whacha need, my boy?’ 🐺 I’m in the library.. Lynette has a birthmark that her mother says is nothing..but I’m not sure! It’s a crescent moon surrounded by three stars. And I can find nothing in here to help me 🐺’I will be right there!’

My dad’s coming! Good idea, Blaze! He shrugs and tells us “It happens sometimes!” And we laugh!
