Chapter 924
The man was practically on his knees, his forehead bruised, but he was still pleading for mercy. Flora, though, stayed silent, just looking down at him for what felt like an eternity. Finally, she broke the silence.
"Return all the money you scammed, and I won't chase this any further," she said, her voice cool and steady, her expression unchanging. She was clear-she wouldn't pursue it herself. Whatever the victims decide to do wasn't her concern. Hearing this, the man felt like he had narrowly escaped a disaster. If Flora was willing to let him off the hook, that was all he needed to hear. He knew all too well how ruthless Club 257 could be.
"What do you mean you won't pursue it? What gives you the right not to?" Camille was shaking with fury. The man had embarrassed her so badly, and she wasn't about to let him off easy. She promptly ordered him to be taken to the police station. She was determined to make him return every cent he had stolen, and face the consequences.
"Camille, maybe you should take this sachet back," one of the high-society ladies suggested, their expressions a mix of disapproval and discomfort. Camille had not only embarrassed herself but dragged them down with her. Their silence was a testament to their restraint. "From now on, Camille, be more careful about who you trust. We'll just consider the hundred thousand dollars a lesson learned," another lady chimed in.
"Flora, let's get going," Amanda whispered, a hint of impatience flickering in her dazzling eyes. Flora nodded, stood up, and handed two sachets from her bag to Amanda's friends, Liana and Mrs. Liu, who accepted them eagerly.
Flora's sachets weren't as overwhelmingly fragrant as the ones Camille had shown earlier. Instead, they had a subtle, refreshing aroma that was incredibly soothing.
"Ladies, keep these with you, and in two months, I promise you'll look ten years younger," Flora said with a softer tone, recognizing the close friendship they shared with Amanda. The ladies were thrilled to hear this.
"Oh, come on now, isn't that a bit of
a stretch? A sachet that can make you look ten years younger? Not even the renowned Féraphine would claim that," Camille scoffed, her bitterness seeping through
Flora didn't pay her any attention and left with Amanda. "Acting like that sachets a treasure!" Camille, feeling ignored and heated, mocked Liana and Mrs. Liu for treating the sachet like it was something special. "Flora's so young, what coul@she possibly know about making something like that? You're acting
like it's a rare find."
"You" Liana's face flushed with anger, ready to retort when suddenly an old man appeared out of nowhere!
"Who crafted this scent? Who made this?" The old man's eyes sparkled as he focused on the sachet in Liana's hand.
The high-society ladies knew him well-the head of a prestigious family known for their expertise in perfume-making. On Lone Island, he was almost unrivaled, and everyone respectfully called him Nathan. "Nathan, good day!" the ladies greeted him with respect.
"Forget the formalities! Tell me, where did this scent come from?"
"What's the matter? Is there something wrong with it?" Camille couldn't help but ask, eager to find a flaw.
"Wrong? It's incredibly right!" The old
man was beside himself with excitement. "This is the finest scent I've ever encountered! Who is the genius behind this? I must learn from her! Are you selling this scent? I'll offer you fifty million, no, eighty million for it! Will you sellit?"
