Chapter 354
The girl’s voice drifted to Jillian’s ears on the hot wind, sounding almost enchanting. She stiffly turned her head to find Flora, who had caught up from behind and was now keeping pace beside her.
Flora looked effortlessly perfect–no sweat, not even slightly out of breath, her complexion glowing and her eyes half–lidded, almost sleepy.
Jillian tried to speak, but the hot air filled her throat, making it painful and itchy, rendering her speechless.
“You’re doing pretty well,” Flora remarked casually, jogging alongside her.
Jillian, with her military family background, had far better stamina than most, but this was beyond humiliating.
Her face turned beet red. “Get lost!”
She couldn’t hold it in any longer and, forgetting she was still on a live broadcast, shouted from deep within her chest.
Flora raised an eyebrow, quickened her pace, and within seconds, left Jillian far behind.
Jillian tried to catch up but had no strength left. She stepped into a hole she hadn’t noticed and tumbled to the ground, twisting her ankle.
She gritted her teeth and stood up, but after a few steps, she collapsed again, unable to go
- on.
One by one, the others caught up and overtook her. Kneeling on the ground, drained and exhausted, Jillian’s eyes were filled with hatred for Flora.
Flora was miles ahead, running so fast that no one was even in sight behind her. The drone could only capture her.
With her unmatched skill, she turned the race into a one–woman show.
At the finish line, the instructors were all waiting, stunned when someone arrived so soon. “Is that Ms. Flora? It is Ms. Flora!”
Recognizing Flora, they were ecstatic. She was truly remarkable–everything she did was extraordinary.
With just a hundred meters to go, Flora casually grabbed a slice of watermelon from a refreshment point, eating it while jogging lightly.
The others were on edge, watching the clock, urging her to finish quickly. The drone’s

camera hovered in front of her, ready to capture the historic moment.
Flora glanced at the drone, thinking of Connor, her dad, and her brother who were probably watching. She smiled, raised her hand, and made a heart gesture towards the
camera.
Her smile grew wider, her clear eyes sparkling like scattered stars. She crossed the finish line leisurely.
Her time was ten minutes and fifteen seconds.
On the stage, Kurt jumped to his feet, eyes filled with excitement and amazement.
Ten minutes for a three–kilometer loaded run… An outstanding performance that broke not only the national team’s record but potentially the national and world records!
Especially considering Flora hadn’t even pushed herself. She only started to speed up a third of the way through the race and still finished without breaking a sweat.
Her true strength was mind–blowing. Flora was a must–have for the military base!
Connor quietly left the stage to meet Flora at the finish line. There, Lance, Colton, and the others stared at her in disbelief.
“Ms. Flora, here’s some water,” Jason said, offering the water with a somewhat stiff arm, his voice tight. They felt a bit redundant standing there with towels and water.
