Chapter 101
Chapter 101 Refuse to Receive Jamie
“He didn’t like me. He couldn’t forget his ex–girlfriend,” Camila
said.
“Do you know?” Yvette was slightly taken aback.
“Dr. Booker told me.”
“Since you already knew, did you like Dewitt?”
Camila glanced at Dewitt, who was sitting in the car, his eyes glazed as he looked at them.
Then Camila shook her head.
“Dr. Booker was a good person, and he deserved someone better suited for him. I only had feelings of gratitude and admiration towards him.”
Yvette was very satisfied with Camila’s answer.
“Can I request that you keep your distance from Dewitt, because I don’t want to see him get hurt anymore. He’s not as strong as you think.”
“What did you want me to do?”
Upon hearing this, Yvette laughed.
“You are so smart. Do I still need to teach you how to refuse someone? There are many ways to reject a person, ultimately it depends on whether you want to do it or not.”

“Dewitt has always been so helpful to you, you surely wouldn’t have the heart to do something that would hurt him, right?”
Camila thought, “Maxwell was right. Yvette was indeed an extraordinary person.”
She was not as assertive as her mother. She appeared to be very innocent, but her words were carefully thought out.
She didn’t want Dewitt to be with me, nor did she want Dewitt
to resent her.
So she made me feel guilty and voluntarily distanced myself from Dewitt.
“Okay, I understand what you mean. I knew what to do,”
Camila said.
“That puts my mind at ease. Also, I will transfer the payment of 8,000 dollars for the filming you did at Glory Gaming to your card tomorrow. Please check and confirm. I hope we have the opportunity to collaborate again.”
Camila thought, “Did Yvette suddenly say he wants to transfer 8,000 dollars to me at this time? Is she trying to compensate
me?”
“If I didn’t accept, Yvette probably wouldn’t feel at ease.”
“Thank you,” Camila replied.
“What were you guys talking about?” Dewitt stumbled down from the car.
“We were chatting.” Yvette supported Dewitt.
me take you home.”
Dewitt pulled Camila up.
“I took a ride–hailing car. You should go back with Yvette quickly,” Camila declined, helping Yvette put Dewitt into the
car.
Watching the car drive away, Camila felt relieved. She then opened her phone and added Dewitt from her contacts to the blacklist.
At this moment, Maxwell had already returned to the hotel. He rushed out of the shower and saw Pawel waiting for him in
the room.
Pawel reported the recent events to Maxwell.
Maxwell’s face turned pale when he heard that Camila had been maliciously reported and the project responsible for Startak Gaming was suspended.
“You informed Efrain to cancel his meeting with Conner Consultancy tomorrow. Additionally, Dimon has mentioned to me several times about his Modiet Enterprise. Their fees are half as cheap as Conner Consultancy’s. Ask Efrain to arrange a meeting with Mr. Bass, I don’t necessarily have to collaborate with Conner Consultancy.”
Maxwell thought, “I was not allowed to let anyone bully
Camila.”
Pawel sensed Maxwell’s dissatisfaction with Conner Consultancy. He thought, “Looks like Peter is going to have a headache this time.”
The next day, Camila got her period and was in so much pain that she took a sick leave.
Jamie, on the other hand, took people to the suburban branch of Startak Gaming one hour earlier.
The branch office was not open yet. Jamie treated everyone to breakfast at a nearby restaurant and informed them that Startak Gaming project would be using her original tax planning scheme instead of Camila’s.
This puzzled a few other people and they raised questions.
“Jamie, how could you just change Camila’s tax planning proposal without authorization from Startak Gaming? It was approved by the company,” argued Olivia Olson, the young strategist.
Today, a total of five people came to Startak Gaming’s branch office, three of whom were chosen by Camila. These three individuals were already very confused about the sudden change in leadership at the company, and now they are even more unable to accept Jamie’s proposal to overturn Camila’s previous plan.
“Why can’t I make changes? I am in charge of this project now. If any of you are unwilling to listen to my arrangements, you can apply to leave this project team,” Jamie threatened.
Being able to receive a project from Startak Gaming was a rare opportunity for personal development. So, when Jamie said this, everyone fell silent.
Olivia was a loyal follower of Camila.
“disagreed with changing Camila’s tax planning, and I
believe Startak Gaming would not agree either. Jamie, I want to ask you what your purpose is in doing this. If it leads to Startak Gaming terminating our partnership, who will be responsible for that?”
“Of course, I will take responsibility,” Jamie said firmly.
“Then let me ask again, is this decision the company’s intention or your personal action?” Olivia pursued.
“It was my own intention. If you don’t agree, you can leave now,” Jamie pointed to the door with his hand.
Olivia stood up without hesitation.
“I left.”
Seeing Olivia being driven away, everyone fell silent and could only bury their heads and eat breakfast.
At nine o’clock, several people arrived at the entrance of Startak Gaming branch. Just as they were about to enter, they were stopped by someone.
“Who are you guys?”
Jamie introduced himself and took out his letter of introduction and work permit.
However, the receptionist glanced at the documents. “Why hasn’t Camila come? Shouldn’t she be the person from your company who contacted us?”
“Our company assigned her to do something else, and currently I am in charge of this project,” Jamie replied.
“Sorry, our deputy general manager just called and said that
no one can enter unless they are from Conner Consultancy and Camila is not among them.”
“How could this happen? I was just appointed as the project team leader at Conner Consultancy. What gives you the right to not let me in?” Jamie exclaimed angrily.
“Sorry, we only accommodate Camila, we do not receive anyone else,” the receptionist’s attitude was also firm.
“But Camila had already stopped caring about this project,” Jamie said angrily, his face turning red.
“Sorry, I was just following orders from the leader.
Complaining to me won’t help. Why don’t you talk to your own leader and have them approach our leader?” suggested the receptionist.
Upon hearing this, Jamie had no choice but to call Zora.
Zora didn’t expect such a thing to happen.
She hurriedly called Startak Gaming, but received the same
response.
Zora didn’t want to bother Peter with this matter, but it was the first time she had encountered something like this.
Finally, Peter personally called Maxwell, but Maxwell did not
answer./
Peter had to call Efrain, but Efrain didn’t answer his call.
Peter went crazy.
Just as Peter was about to go look for Efrain, Efrain called him back.

Efrain told Peter that he was just talking to Vernon Bass from Modiet Enterprise about a collaboration, so he didn’t answer Peter’s call.
