Finding Bailey

Chapter Prologue

Five years ago

Melanie and Nelson sat in the lawyers office. Melanie wanted out, she had another chance with her high school sweetheart and was going to take it. She didn't care she was leaving her three sons or the man who proclaimed to love her unconditionally. She had wanted a life with Tyrone and that's what she was getting now. The only catch was, she had to leave everything behind as Tyrone wanted no part of her old life. She had embraced that with open arms and was here to sign away the rights to her children and walk away from her marriage with nothing except for what she entered with.

Melanie was excited and nothing would change her mind at all. Not her three sons who were currently waiting outside. They were banging on the door wanting to try and convince there mother to not do this. They could accept the divorce but her wanting nothing to do with them is what they were fighting against. She had no time to hear them though, she had to get back to Tyrone, he had given her a deadline to have this done and she planned to stick with it. He had a line of coke waiting for her and had already sent her photos of him in bed naked waiting for her. That excited her, not different sports competitions for her children or work functions with her husband.

"Hurry up, I have places to be" Melanie stated when the fourth message came through from Tyrone stating he would go elsewhere if she wasn't home soon. "You really are going to turn you back on our children?" Nelson asked. He couldn't believe the woman who devoted her life to her boys would do such a thing. All Melanie did was nod her head yes and sign on the doted line. With that she stood and walked out of the office.

"Mum don't do this, we are your sons" Bodie pleaded with his mum as she walked out of the office. "Please mum" Blair stated, he was the most upset of all the boys. He was the youngest and still needed his mum more then anything. "I'm no longer your mother. I want nothing to do with any of you. Stay away from me and out of my life. Having you three was a mistake" Melanie stated. She needed to do this so she could have a life with Tyrone. It hurt her but this was what needed to be done.

Blair saw the look in his mothers eyes of devastation. It was only there for a split second and then it was gone. He went and hugged his mum one last time slipping his phone number into her purse as he did. He just hoped she would wake up to herself and realise what she was walking away from.

Nelson stepped out of the office seeing Brax and Bodie glaring at there mum and Blair sobbing as Melanie walked away. Until recently, they had a happy marriage. He would comfort his wife at night while she cried about not being needed anymore by her boys. Then a few months ago she up and left without a reason. He didn't know where she was until he got a call from the lawyer saying she wants a divorce and to sign away the rights to the children.

"Come on guys let's head home" Nelson told his sons. The boys nodded and headed out with there dad. They were all lost in there own grief for what they lost and without knowing why. They all relied on each other to get through this and grew closer together as a family.

Melanie and Tyrone spent time together getting high and fucking. There was nothing more to it at all. Melanie took a menial job which paid enough for a shitty apartment and drugs. When she had drugs Tyrone was around and made her body come alive. When she was broke and out of drugs he wasn't around at all.

This went on for a few of years until Melanie found out she was pregnant. She got herself into a rehab for pregnant women. She didn't want to harm her baby and knew she would need medical help. Tyrone wanted nothing to do with her at all when he found out she was pregnant with his baby. He dumped her and got on with his life.

Melanie thought about reaching out to her sons but her pride got in the way. She knew to much time had passed. They were better off without her. When her baby girl was born she again stuck with B names. She named her daughter Bailey Nelly Williams. She still used her ex husbands last name and had no intention of changing it so wanted her daughter to have the same last name as her and all her children.

Motherhood was hard on her own for Melanie. She had to stay clean and sober and raise a child by herself. Tyrone turned up when Bailey was 3 months old and wormed his way back into Melanie's bed. She started using again and Bailey spent days in her cot crying for someone.

She was 18 months old and was not walking or talking due to being neglected. Melanie was either high as a kite or coming down and often forgot about her daughter. Tyrone never cared about the baby. At times he would hit the child to shut her up.

The cycle would repeat itself, Melanie would try to stay away from Tyrone and coke for her daughters sake. Tyrone would promise the world and Melanie would believe him. One night Bailey was screaming for hours, she hadn't had a nappy change in 4 days or any food. Tyrone was over and both Melanie and Tyrone were broke. They owed a dealer a large sum of money and he would be coming to collect in the morning. Neither had the money to pay.

Tyrone lost it slapping Bailey so hard across the face that she ended up on the other side of the cot. Melanie was sober enough to realise Tyrone would kill her daughter if she didn't do something. For the first time in months so was concerned for her daughter.

Tyrone wanted to run but had to get rid of the child and in his rage he was going to hurt Bailey. Melanie locked herself and her daughter in the bathroom and rang the one person she hoped would help her and her daughter.
