Find Beauty After Leaving Wrong Love novel

Chapter 7

Chapter 7

In my senior year of high school, I was oblivious to everything outside the window, focusing only on doing exercises and exams.

I got a scholarship and didn’t ask my parents for a penny anymore, breaking off contact with my family.

After the college entrance examination finally ended, I returned home free from the heavy burden.

My sister was lying in bed, glowing with health.

My mom was cutting an apple into small pieces and feeding them to her.

“My baby, you must be tired from the exam. Eat more, don’t lose weight because of fatigue.”

My sister patted her round belly. “Mom, don’t worry, I’ve been eating well recently, I’ve gained five pounds.”

“I heard that other kids have estimated their scores as soon as the exam is over. How did you do?” My dad was full of expectation, still fantasizing that my sister could get into a prestigious university and add glory to him.

“What score, has the college entrance examination ended?” My sister looked confused, as if she didn’t know that the college entrance examination was over.

My dad’s hand shook, and the bowl he was holding fell to the ground.

The chicken soup that had been stewed for my sister for three hours splashed everywhere.

Just as he calmed down and was about to make a call to arrange for my sister to retake the exam.

“Bang, bang, bang.” It sounded like someone was knocking on the door.

My mom hurriedly ran to open the door, and a middle–aged couple rushed in.

Sonny, who was looking dejected, followed.

“Look at the good daughter you’ve raised, now the whole world knows we’re going to be grandparents!” “What grandchild?”

My mom saw Sonny and reacted.

“It turns out to be our in–laws. Come in and sit down. You should have called in advance, so I could have Eva come to meet you.”

As she spoke, she pushed me to their side.

“Now that our daughter is pregnant, let’s talk about the wedding arrangements.”

She took out a calculator and started calculating the golds and betrothal gifts.

Mrs. Grant held my mom’s restless fingers. “Let’s speak plainly, your daughter is pregnant, our family has a

responsibility, the two children are adults, but they don’t know the weight of their actions.”

Mr. Grant kicked Sonny’s knee, and Sonny knelt down in pain.

He put his hand on his son’s shoulder, and said to my mom in a deep voice, “Don’t worry, we will take responsibility, the amount of money is negotiable, we have already contacted the best maternity hospital and the best gynecologist to minimize the harm caused by the abortion.”

“Why does it have to be an abortion?” My mom smiled flatteringly, helping Sonny up, and then wrapped her wrist around Mrs. Grant’s arm, “The child is innocent. When the child is born, I will help take care of it. Your family will pay, and my daughter will do all the work.”

My mom waved her hand and took all the responsibility of raising the child onto me.

Obviously, she didn’t understand the situation.

Mr. and Mrs. Grant were stunned.

They never expected that when their daughter got pregnant, the mother not only wasn’t angry, but also confidently took on the responsibility of raising the child.

“But my son doesn’t want a child. He cried and begged us to persuade his girlfriend to have an abortion. I didn’t expect that your whole family wants to keep this child.”

“Yes, that’s right. Our whole family loves children. But about the betrothal gifts…”

“Let’s talk about marriage when the children are older, shall we? Let’s just leave it like this for now.”

Mr. Grant took out a small box, and when he opened it, it was full of brand new Renminbi.

“Here’s 500,000. After the child is born, we will give another 10,000 every month, on the condition that the child’s upbringing is fully taken care of by the Allen family.”

“Of course, no problem.” My mother immediately agreed to the conditions of the Grant family, holding the box in her

arms.

She quickly signed the contract and stamped her handprint.

They happily saw off the three members of the Grant family.

Like presenting a treasure, my mother gave the box to my sister.

“Lana, it doesn’t matter if you didn’t take the college entrance examination, or if you can’t get into college. You’ve always wanted to study abroad, and now you’ve saved enough money. You should thank your sister who brings wealth.”

“Mom, I don’t want to study abroad now. I just want to get married and have children as soon as possible.” “What are you talking about? That’s what your sister should be doing.”

As she said this, she showed the contract to my sister, announcing the “good news” that I was going to have a baby

soon

“Mom, why didn’t you tell me when my boyfriend came?”

My sister suddenly sat up from the bed and fainted to the ground.

She instinctively protected her small belly with her hand, still shouting “my child.”

It took my mother a whole night to figure out that it was actually my sister who was pregnant.

She must not have known with her wooden head.

The reason why my sister didn’t want to study and only thought about getting married and having children, was partly due to her.
