Fell Into His Love Trap (Skylar and Tobias)

Chapter 731 The Owner Of The Necklace

Marcus scrutinized Skylar's prideful expression and made her an offer. "I promise to let you be the lead actress in my next movie!"

Skylar was daunted. Marcus thought he was doing her a great favor, but she was afraid of Marcus' poor investment choices. If she acted in another terrible movie, she might receive a Razzie Award next year. She sighed. "I hope this is our last collaboration. We don't work well with each other."

Marcus rubbed his forehead. If Skylar weren't Tobias' woman, he'd have pursued her to see if they could work well together.

He was different from Tobias, as he didn't believe in geomancy. Tobias, on the other hand, was very superstitious, probably influenced by his mother.

"I'll leave you alone now. Someone has already taken photos of us having dinner together, so we will probably become a trending topic again."

Skylar was enraged, but her anger quickly dissipated, and she smiled. "Do you really think this will become a trending topic? Everyone is already sick of it."

After some time, Skylar passed the box to Tobias.

Tobias, who had recovered from his illness, teased, "Have you finally grown up and learned to give me gifts after returning from your trip? It's rare for you to be so generous. I'm slightly surprised." Skylar felt guilty after hearing Tobias call her stingy. Indeed, she had never thought about bringing back souvenirs for Tobias.

She didn't have many liquid assets because the majority of her assets were in the form of stocks or mutual funds due to Ford Group. As a result, she couldn't afford to buy gifts for Tobias, whose wealth could rival that of the entire nation.

She couldn't afford expensive gifts, and she was afraid Tobias would look down on cheap gifts.

Tobias opened the rectangular box and saw the gold-encrusted jade pendant on a white gold chain. It only took one look for him to know it wasn't worth much as the jade pendant wasn't high quality.

"Why did you give me a woman's necklace? Did you buy it by mistake?" Tobias lost interest. He thought Skylar had really matured and thought of him while she was on a trip, but this was clearly not a gift for a

man.

Skylar shook her head. "No. Marcus passed it to me. He said you might recognize it. Do you know who this necklace belongs to?"

Upon hearing that, Tobias refused to even cast another glance at the necklace. He tossed it into the trash can beside the chair.

Skylar looked at him in surprise. She bent down to retrieve it from the trash can, as Marcus was still the owner of the necklace. She had only passed it to Tobias so that he could take a look.

If Tobias was going to throw it away, she could return it to Marcus.

"Why are you picking it up? Get up. You're not allowed to pick it up." Tobias' tone was cold. Skylar's hand trembled, and she froze in place.

She straightened up and asked Tobias, "Do you know the owner of the necklace?"

Money or women were most likely the causes of discord between the two brothers, turning them into sworn enemies. However, Skylar didn't dare to make a generalization because Tobias and Marcus had a complicated relationship due to them being half-brothers. It would be inappropriate to say they had a strong brotherly bond.

Skylar could tell that Tobias' attitude toward Sheldon was completely different from his attitude toward Marcus. Tobias was much nicer to Sheldon.

Tobias leaned against the window, lowered his head, and lit a cigarette. "Sort of, but not really."
