Chapter Family 2

Chapter 2

Evan exhaled sharply and glanced at his watch, flipping the paperweight between his fingers. The two maids, still fearful, quickly exited the room. Just then, his phone rang, and Evan took a deep breath to calm himself. “Yes, Grandmother?” he answered.

“Evan, are you g***y?” the old lady asked, her voice h**rse and laced with concern.

Evan’s eyes widened in surprise, and he dropped the paperweight. “What? Who’s feeding you this?” he asked softly, trying to contain his anger.

“It’s on page three of the city’s local newspaper,” she replied, still in shock. “They claim you’re in a. relationship with that old producer, Michael.”

Evan’s expression turned incredulous. “Huh?” He quickly typed on his iPad and started reading the article about himself. “What on earth is this?!” he exclaimed, his anger rising again. “Who dares to spread such vile lies?!” he thundered, his voice echoing through the room. “Grandmother, I swear on my honor, this is a vicious attack on my reputation!” he declared, his face red with fury.

The maids, still lingering in the doorway, cowered in fear, knowing they had to escape the wrath of their powerful boss. They scurried away, leaving Evan alone to seethe in anger and plot his revenge.

“The post already had 2 million likes and 30 million views, and it was the new number one on trends. Grandmother, there’s nothing like this,’ Evan said. I’ma straight man, but I just haven’t found the right person to fall in love with. I’ve decided to go for surrogacy. I want to have a family, and my psychiatrist suggested it to help control my anger issues.

What? You want to have a kid? But what about the child’s mother? The lady was outraged again. “This clearly proves you’re **y!’

“I am not g**y, Grandmother, Evan emphasized. I just want a family without the burden of any…silly girl.’ He slammed his hand on the table, trying to control his anger.

Just then, two men entered the office, holding a well-suited man tightly with their strong arms. The bald, suited man was struggling to move, but the two men held him firmly. “Let go of me! I don’t even know about the appointment. What nonsense is this!

‘I’ll call you back, Grandmother.’ Evan hung up the call and turned his attention to the bald man.” “Hmm… 22 minutes. Good. Make him sit.”

The man was forced into a chair, and a pen and contract were thrust into his hands.

“Sign these merger papers quickly. You have 8 minutes to think.”

Evan glanced at his watch and rapidly dialed the number of the news portal’s CEO.

“What!? But I don’t want this merger!” The bald man protested, looking at Evan with a mix of fear and defiance. “You can’t force mel

Evan’s expression turned menacing as he tilted his head. “Oh really?” He swiftly turned on his laptop and turned the screen towards the man, revealing intimate photos of him with his girlfriend on a beach. “Who is this girl? Clearly, she’s not your wife.”

The man’s eyes widened in shock. “What the f**k! How did you get these pictures?” Evan’s smile was cold. and calculating. “I have your wife’s number, and you have two minutes to think… or else…”

The man’s face turned pale as Evan rapidly typed an email. With a look of helplessness, he signed the Inerger documents. “Fine. Do what you want to!” He scribbled his signature, his eyes still fixed on Evan with a-mix of anger and fear.

“Great, your time is up. Leave.” Evan dismissed the bald man, his attention already focused on the next target. He began blasting the CEO of the news portal over the phone, his face red with rage. “I will sue you for defamation! How dare you put such news on your portall”

The CEO’s attempts to apologize were cut short. “Apology is not an option. I want you to publish a

retraction, taking full blame for falsely claiming I’m g**y. Do it within the next 15 minutes, or your company is finished!” Evan slammed down the phone, taking a deep breath to calm himself. Just then, a knock at the door broke the tension. A man in a gray suit walked in, and Evan stood up to greet him. “Hello, Doctor Welling. Please, have a seat. Evan spoke respectfully, his demeanor changing from anger to deference. Doctor Welling was not only Evan’s psychiatrist but also his late father’s best friend, making him a trusted confidante and a figure Evan respected like a father figure.

“How was your day today? I hope there wasn’t a bout of anger?” Doctor Welling asked, setting up recording instrument and scribbling some notes on his iPad.

Evan sighed, his expression helpless. “Umm… I just couldn’t help myself, Doctor. My opponent tried to sabotage me, and the maid couldn’t even clean the glass I broke. You know how particular I am about cleanliness. On top of that, a famous news portal called me g**y!” He sounded frustrated and defeated. The doctor raised an eyebrow. “Evan, you broke a glass?” He glanced at the shattered window glass, concern etched on his face.

Evan looked down, ashamed. “Yes, Doc… Uncle.” He knew he had failed to control his temper again. Doctor Welling’s expression softened. “Listen, dear, I understand that things are difficult to cope with after James and Lillian’s demise, but you have a long life ahead. You can’t live in misery forever.” Evan removed his glasses, rubbing his eyes. Im trying Uncle. I’m hoping to become a father soon.” His voice was laced with determination, but also a hint of desperation.

The doctor’s eyes widened in surprise. “What? How did you manage to find a girlfriend in just one week?” He asked, clearly skeptical.
