Chapter 5 

After all, Caurtine was the capital of the country. The government was situated there and hence, a high level of economic activities evolved from there. It was divided into two regions, namely the Soumand District and Norrock District. Among them, Sourmond District was buzzling with business activities. It was also a place where many super rich family businesses were created. 

And the Lawstom Group was the cream of the crop. Many people were envious of them. They had countless businesses and several involved high–end luxury brands. 

Although the Meyer family was also not to be underestimated, they were still no match for this super rich Lawsons. 

Edith was a little hesitant and her face turned pale for a moment. However, Sarah did not notice. She pulled Edith in and spoke as they walked, “Our company has received an order to help the new employees of the Lawstom Group customize their uniforms. I am short–handed so I have to get your help.” 

“Customized uniform? That’s really generous!” 

She took a deep breath. Anyway, she would need to come sooner or later. “What am I afraid of?” she gathered. 

Before going up, Sarah went to let the reception know first, and then proceed through the exclusive path. Sarah had to stop by the 18th floor to see the accountant to settle the deposit first. She asked Edith to carry on to help take the staff’s measurements. 

Edith majored in fashion design, so that was not a difficult task for her. 

Per Sarah’s instructions, she arrived at the 68th floor. When she stepped out of the elevator, she realized that no one was around! 

“Is it because it is a Monday and all of them have gone to the meeting?” she wondered. 

Instead of wandering around, she went to the lounge. 

Not long after she put down her things, she heard someone push the door open. She thought it was Sarah. 

However, when she turned around, she saw a man. 

He was lean and tall. He wore a fitting white shirt which accentuated his well sculpted figure even better. 

When she looked up, she saw a handsome face. 

This man was almost perfect. 

He had deep–set, attractive eyes. His features were prominent and good looking. 

His raised eyebrows hinted at untamed hostility. His upright nose and pursed lips seemed repulsive. 

When she met his deep gaze, she actually felt a little scared and subconsciously avoided it. 

She took the tape measure and stepped forward. “Why are you alone? Where are the other employees?” she asked. 

As soon as she approached and was about to help him measure his shoulders, the man grabbed her wrist mercilessly. His strength was so strong that it seemed that he wanted to crush her. She frowned at the pain and said unhappily, “What are you doing?” 

“What are you doing?” he questioned. 

“I am taking your measurements? Aren’t you a new employee who’s going to have your measurements taken to customize your uniform today? Let go of me. You’re hurting me!” she shouted. 

Instantly, the man frowned and let go of her hand. 

“An employee?

“Since when do I look like an employee?” he wondered. 

“This is the 68th floor,” he retorted coldly 

“What’s wrong with the 68th floor?” She felt puzzled. She turned her wrist and then stood on tiptoe, ready to help him measure the width of his shoulders. 

The man was about 6’2“, much taller than her. 

Before she could reach him, she tripped and lost her balance, throwing herself into his arms. 

Her nose was filled with the faint mint scent and her palm was pressed against his chest. 

Then she heard a faint sneer. “This is new. Is this how you help people take measurements?” 

Edith blushed instantly. She quickly propped herself up and took a step back. She was so embarrassed that she did not dare to look at him. 

Her cheeks were flushed, and her youthful face looked so adorable. It was so delicate and beautiful. 

There was also a faint fragrance coming from her.. 

It smelled refreshing. 

For a moment, he felt that the aroma was mesmerizing and was comfortable. At least he did not reject it very much. 

It might be a good idea to ask her to take his measurements. 

“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean it. I’ll measure for you right away” 

He stood still and said, “Be careful this time. If you fall into me again, I will think that you have ulterior motives.” 

His voice was cold and emotionless, but she seemed to catch a teasing note in it. 

“Embarrassing! 

“It is so embarrassing!” she blurted silently.
