Chapter 15 

Edith was upset. 

This was not what she wanted! 

She clutched the armrest tightly and did not dare to get any closer to him. Unexpectedly, at this moment, the car suddenly turned left. 

Caught off guard, Carlos fell closer to her but managed to stabilize himself in time. 

His nose was pressed against her cheek, and his deep gaze fell on her. 

Edith pushed him away. She blushed and raised her head, saying stubbornly, “I didn’t do anything this time, and it’s you that fell on me.” 

“Yes, it’s me. And so?” Carlos sat up straight. “You’re in no place to negotiate with me.” 

Hearing this, Edith was furious. She cursed him in her heart, “Why is he so annoying? He is so mean.” 

Watching their intimate interaction, Robert secretly gave his driver a thumbs–up. 

Unexpectedly, Carlos spoke again. 

“Your driver can retire now.” 

“Er… Drive carefully,” Robert said awkwardly to his driver. 

The rest of the journey became much smoother, and they no longer had any physical contact. 

In less than 20 minutes, Edith arrived at the bus stop. She got out of the car, and Robert kindly gave her an umbrella. 

Edith watched them leave. 

Robert said regretfully, “This girl is quite interesting. You can give it a try. There may be chemistry between you!” 

“If you like her, you can have a try.” 

“Hey, you’re really boring! Since we’re already here, why don’t you go back home and have a look? Anyway, it’s your wedding house. Isn’t it inappropriate to let the girl wait for you there?” 

Hearing this, Carlos remembered that his so–called wife had called him a few days ago, but he did not answer the phone and asked the secretary to deal 

with her. 

He just needed a wife, and he didn’t care who she was. If that woman wanted to be his wife, she could always be. 

He lowered his eyes and said nothing. Obviously, he was not interested in this question. 

Robert couldn’t do anything to change Carlos‘ mind and thought to himself, “Carlos looks so otherworldly. I must find someone to seduce him, or I’ll be unworthy of the title of ‘master of love‘! As for Edith… she is a good choice, really good.” 

That night, Ned sent a message to Rubby Lawson, telling her that the young couple had already met. Moreover, it seemed that Carlos had suddenly come. to his senses. He was considerate enough to send her wife to the bus stop. 

Although they didn’t spend the night in the villa, their relationship became better. 

Hearing this, Rubby was very gratified and asked the staff in the villa to take good care of Edith.

Edith returned to the villa and took a quick shower. Susan brought her hot toddy, afraid that she would catch a cold. 

Although she had only lived here for a week, the maids here treated her very well. 

She couldn’t help but ask, “Susan, have you seen Mr. Lawson? What do you think of him?” 

“Mr. Lawson? He is the most outstanding man I’ve ever seen. It’s just that he seems not interested in wo…” Susan hesitated as she spoke. She looked at Edith with pity, thinking, “Mr. Lawson has never been interested in women. How could they get along with each other? Mrs. Lawson has a good temper and is well–behaved. Her heart was in a mess. She was wondering how to get along with Carlos in the future.

Although she was unwilling to marry Carlos, she had to fulfill her duty as a wife for her uncle’s sake. Glenn had worked so hard to raise her for so many years, so she couldn’t be an ungrateful person.
